How to unlock the A Life of Crime achievement in Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning - Definitive Guide

Before going for this achievement, I recommend creating a new save file that you can return to after you have unlocked it. But, that's completely your call.

To "get caught" committing a crime, you need to have a guard approach you after you committed a crime. Crimes include looting items that are red, pickpocketing and striking innocents/guards.

Once you have accumulated a fair amount of money (35,000 - 40,000 gold) return to Gorhart and swing one of your weapons at one of the guards standing around. When you do, you will get the option to enable Aggressive Mode by hitting cn_up. Then, strike a guard. That guard will then immediately confront you and give you the option to (a) go to jail, (b) resist arrest or (c) pay a fine. Choosing to go to jail will let you get:

But, for the Life of Crime achievement you are going to select to pay the fine, which should be around 900 gold. Once you've paid, the guard will start to walk away and you will still be in Aggressive Mode. Hit the guard again, pay the fine, rinse and repeat until you've done this 25 times.

Depending on your level, eventually you may kill the guard, which will result in a roughly 3000 gold bribe, which is why it is best to have upwards of 35,000 gold.

Paying these bribes will also net you:

I'm at 80% for this achievo but I keep attacking guards/pickpocketing and paying the bribes but the counter won't go up. Even loaded a previous save. Anybody got a solution?

Same did this but it's stopped tracking at 76%. Tried the usual clear cache/delete console save. Last achievement as well!

Also experiencing this glitched, anyone figure out a workaround? I've tried new character, deleting console save.

I would suggest combining this with "Crime Doesn't Pay" since they essentially go hand in hand. Crimes such as theft are fairly cheap, so murdering villagers would be the way to go. Wait until you have at least 10k in gold and continually kill people and wait for the guards to show up. Bribe them off, then rinse and repeat until you are caught 25 times and have spent over 10k in bribes.
