How to unlock the Open Sesame achievement in Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning - Definitive Guide
The achievement is unlocked when you open the 50th container or doorway sealed with a magical ward. Warded containers and doorways are identified with a purple glow. To open them, you first press to interact with them to bring up the dispel ward screen. To dispel the ward, you have the option of pressing to play a mini-game. If you beat the mini-game, you dispel the ward. Alternatively, you can try to open it automatically by pressing to give you a random chance at bypassing the ward 'by luck.'
If you invest skill points in dispelling, the probability of succeeding in the auto-attempt option increases. At level 7 or above, your dispelling skill is high enough that you have better than a 50-50 chance of dispelling very hard wards and a 90% chance or greater at dispelling easy wards. The mini-game is fairly simple to beat for easy or very easy wards but is extremely challenging on hard and very hard wards regardless of your level of dispelling.
There are several hundred wards in the game so the achievement should come naturally in game play. It is worthwhile to defer seriously tackling the achievement until you have increased your dispel skill to the 6 or 7 mark. Then, open every warded container you come across. Not only will you work towards the achievement, but warded containers tend to have good loot. When you open your 50th warded container the achievement will unlock as demonstrated in the following 20 second video. Note how auto-attempt is used to defeat the ward:

Note: If you are not inclined to dispel warded chests as you come across them, there is a quest with 51 chests to dispel. You need not do the entire quest, but merely enough to satisfy your deficit. Talk to Daedinnear in the Adessa Laboratories fairly close to your Adessa safehouse, the Sandstone Villa. Accept his quest: Lab Assistant. He requires you to dispel three warded chests at a time. When you finish each three, return to him for more. They get progressively harder. If you start to have difficulty with the auto dispel, buy some Greater Dispelling Boost potions from Driadore Sele in the Arcadium in Adessa to increase your dispel level by two points. You will not need to dispel the entire 51 chests so stop whenever you are satisfied. There are many more warded chests in the field. Anything you get from this quest is a bonus. However, it is a convenient way to increase your tally of dispelled chests.

It is also realitively cheap to rebuild your character's skils so
Save
Rebuild (At a Fateweaver)
10 points in despelling (Can earliest be done at level 16)
repeat Lab Assistant until it pops

Good point. If you are concerned about the Fateweaver cost--it goes up each time you fate weave--you can always save before you reset and reload the save after you unlock the achievement. More likely, the loot you get from the warded chests would offset the price and then while providing you with top tier stuff you can use.

Objects with a purple glow around them are considered warded and must be dispelled to interact with them. You can invest more points into this skill to make it easier, giving you more time to complete the mini-game. This entire achievement can be done through the "Lab Assistant" side-quest found in Adessa. You can see a short dispelling tutorial here.
