How to unlock the Blades of Glory achievement in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - Definitive Guide

Unique weapons are the ones whose names are in purple and usually in their description have a story associated with them. Their names will also be more than just Strengthening Hammer or Fine Azurite Daggers. Examples are: Earth Gavel or Rimescythe. You can find or buy these weapons all over The Faelands and it isn't that hard to acquire them. You can even store a few in your chest in Canneroc or Adessa (should you make it that far before the achievement pops). Though the game says purple weapons are rare, however only 18 hours into the game I obtained the achievement. With a good amount of exploring this achievement will come with ease.

Edit by way of Cyber Grimm: as long as you have picked up the purple weapons and have had them in your inventory at some time this achievement will pop. So feel free to sell them if you have no need for them or salvage the parts of you are trying to build a better weapon.

I guess you found the answer by yourself, but the delivery chest is outside, in the first city. It's a chest where you can find item you get with dlc or pre-order code (like for exemple the full set of "shepard armor" if you played mass effect 3 demo)
as explained in upper post, theses item do not count in this cheevo.

I found 3 purple weapons in Uduath, which is a cave in the NE corner of Ettinmere. This cave is a location in the Ballad of Bloody Bones quest, and it's a fairly short quest too.

No, they don't. I had some in my chest at Canneroc and some in my active inventory. Not too sure about whether if they are sold if they count, but keep all of the ones that have the little stories attached to them and you should be fine. Another example is the Faeblades of Song that you get during the House of Ballad missions.

I received many of them from doing random quests. Besides the House of Ballads, one that I remember is in Ettinmere, at Holnstead, you go on a quest for a gnome to obtain the artifacts Shrine and Shadow. They are a pair of daggers. I also found a few through the detect hidden skill as well. If you are playing the game to near full completion and tackling side quests as you go, this achievement will come easily enough. I wasn't even trying to get it and the achievement popped.

Thumbs up mate. A way to further evolve this would be to list the quests that reward purple weapons, and also name the 'special delivery' weapons. I have a few only a couple hours in, but have a feeling one came from the launch day code.

I will edit that in Grimm and of course give credit to you. And Ellusion I am way to far in to remember every quest at the beginning that doles out purple weapons. Want to give a brother a hand with said list? I will be your bestest friend in Florida hahahah.

Ellusion no, launch day code weapons dont count. Matter of fact, any weapons you get in the special delivery chest do not count toward this achievment.

No worries Darth =) I've been carrying around a purple silly chakram forever and have a sneaky feeling it came from the delivery chest and doesn't count. Level 5 and up though, purples drop all the time and no list is needed. Expected the achievement would be harder though.

I even pick pocketed purple accessories off random NPC's with 1 in stealth (including a ring with +1 hp regen, +1 mercantile and +1 alchemy...)

As long as the weapon is purple and in your inventory (and doesn't come from the delivery chest) you are golden. Yeah, I thought so as well Ellusion, but at level 25 I only get blue and purple weapons with the occasional white or green thrown in for flair.

I thought I was getting screwed on this achievement but then I realized it was weapons and not just items in general. Should get it soon. Thumbs upped.

It is a very easy achievement. It sounds daunting by the description, but not at all. By end game you are getting purple weapons every 2-3 minutes.

Yeah I guess emphasis on "weapons" thought it included armour also. Hate when you misread an achievement description and are disappointed when you don't get the achievement. And yeah purple weapons aren't that hard to come by.

Unique items are marked by their Purple names. Simply look for all chests and be thorough in searching corpses as you go and you should have this in no time. You can possibly acquire two of them in the starting zone. This achievement only tracks weapons, so if you feel like you've got a ton of Purple items and don't have the achievement, double check if you've counted any armor or accessories by accident.

Note that you do not have to keep the weapons in your inventory to earn the achievement, so feel free to sell them as you go if you don't plan to use them.
