How to unlock the Destiny Defiant achievement in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - Definitive Guide

SPOILER ALERT !!!! If you do not wanna know how the game ends DO NOT read any further.

Destiny Defiant : 75gs
Ok this is for defeating the final boss Tirnoch. DO NOT try and attack her directly , you cant touch her and magic spells do not harm her. Honestly this is probably the easiest boss fight i have ever seen. When you come face to face with Tirnoch stay back a bit so her melee dosent hit you. She will zap you and make a fate copy of you. just quickly destroy it and collect some fate. Once you have a full bar activate your fate shift and knock her down. Quickly attack her head until she jumps up and brings you to another platform. Just stay back and destroy the fate copies she creates until your fate shift bar is full again and activate it. then beat on her some more until she gets up. do this about 4-5 times and you while start the final cut scene , the only button press i had to do was rapidly press A for double exp. , the achievement will pop after the credits. But after the credits you are allowed to free roam the worlds and do more secondary quest and finish up any other things you might have going on. But just know enemies are still every where. Hope This Helps..if you are still having trouble with the final boss i found a video. This is not mine and i take no credit for it.

Just finished this game and only NOW have read this guide. So... I can do the DLC after beating the main story? If so, then I made a back-up save before I went into Bhaile for nothing. Oh well.

I'm finding it hard to think of another game with a shittier last boss. Didn't ruin the game, but yeah. Terrible. Fucking terrible.

Fun fact about the boss, you can glitch it by dealing to much damage, the bos then skips a stage, but you don't...

I think the build up to Tiernoch was great, but for a gigantic dragon-like beast who supposedly had the power of a god, she was the biggest pushover I have ever seen. I used mostly minor healing potions and the odd greater one and that was it. The build up/story made up for it in my opinion, but still it would have been nice to have more of a challenge.

Cool boss but way too easy. Didn't use a single potion even on hard and I'm hardly a gaming master. As for the glitch, you have to be trying to avoid the main plot pretty fervently to encounter this. The plot giver for silence falls in right in front of you when you leave the city. Whether you will do it later or not, just pick it up. He's right there, totally unmisable.

Yeah you can play the DLC after beating the game.

The ending although awesome was indeed pretty easy.
Actually the whole game can be pretty easy especially if you are adept at ability trees and theory crafting like in WoW. I tiered all the way to meteor and tempest in the Sorcery tree and just made +X crit % gems and +X % fire damage gems and made a bunch of Fate Potions. Using Reckoning mode twice and I two-shotted Tirnoch. Is it just me or is sorcery way OP?

There is a bug in the main story questline making the following achievements unobtainable for that playtrough:

Destiny Defiant
Green Thumb
Loremaster
Destiny Dominated

A fix is intended for this glitch as announced per 16-05-2012

source: http://forums.reckoning.amalur.com/showthread.php?5901-Repor...

*spoiler alert*

The glitch occurs when a player destroys any of the tuata mirror/crystals (after the Hero of Mel Senshir achievement in the new area which unlocks then) before the main quest "Silence Falls" is obtaind and/or inactive.

Might be worth mentioning that there is a known bug (since release and still there as of 16/4/12) with the main questline "Silence Falls" which requires you to destroy 3 prismere chantries. This quest becomes available shortly after the battle in Rathir. If you start exploring Klurikon you may stumble across these chantries and they can be destroyed before you have the Silence Falls quest, rendering the quest (and therefore the main story) unfinishable. So, either pick the quest up as soon as you leave Rathir, or if you're dead set on exploring first, avoid any big red spires you see around Klurikon AT ALL COSTS.

Apparently there's a patch on the way, but I had to revert to an earlier save which lost me 3-4 hours.

As the other solution states, directly attacking the Boss is a waste of time. Build up a full fate meter and activate it to get some free swings in.

The part that makes my solution better - Bring a bunch of Fate Potions. Something like 5 or 6 should do. Saves you having to bother with the enemies and allows you to focus on the boss.
