How to unlock the Five Finger Discount achievement in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - Definitive Guide

If you complete a quest called The Natural Order, found in Didenhil (located beneath the text GLENDARA on the map), you can get to a place called Star Camp which has a fence. You must say yes to joining with travelers when you arrive. You can sell stolen items here and you'll get the achievement.

Is there anywhere else in the game you can do this? I think I killed the merchant when they discovered me stealing, and now he's not returning. ?????

@Maggotia, yes. You can go to the Moon Camp or the Sun Camp and use the fences there. You don't need to side with the Travelers either.

Stealing an item is pretty simple, many items inside houses and inns are considered "owned" so just keep an eye on Equipment with a Red title that has a % chance to steal.

Once you've successfully stolen an item, the only way to sell it is to head to one of the 3 travelers camps throughout the lands and sell to a merchant there. The closest camp to the start of the game is Star Camp. The Camp in situated in the eastern part of Dalentarth in an ancient forest. It is found South-East of Didenhil, North of St. Eadric's Mission and South-West of Warden's Bridge. The camp has two entrances: the northern one from the region of Lorca-Rane and the Southern one from Haxhi.

Head here and sell any items that are stolen (or if you've placed them in your Junk folder you can just choose the "Sell All Junk" option and vwalaa, trophy attained.

If you're like me, and you completed the Natural Order quest without siding with the Travelers, then you wont be able to access the Star Camp. There ARE OTHER FENCES that you can go to, including the other Traveler Camps. So don't worry if you can't access the Star Camp. The others are:

Moon Camp - Located just above the letter "T" in Tywili Coast
Sun Camp - Located east of the word Apotyre", at the edge of the sea
Rathir Lower Tunnels - Located on the Tywili Coast, Gelphyne Nargyfier works as a fence if the quest "Second to a Duel" has been started

If all else fails and you can't use any of the fences listed, you can also upgrade your mercantile skill to allow for fencing. The highest milestone allows you to sell stolen goods to anyone.

The first place you'll likely come across to sell fenced goods is Star Camp. See "Travelers" for its location. The only shop owner there is the fence. Still works if the stolen item is in your Junk folder.

To steal an item, you either need to pickpocket someone, or steal something from a chest which you can find in pretty much every house. A stolen item will have a red hand icon next to it in your inventory. Once you’ve stolen an item, you can sell it by 2 possible ways.

1: You can choose to invest 10 skill points in the Mercantile skill. Level 10 will grant you the ability to sell stolen items at any merchant.

2: If you don’t have or want a level 10 Mercantile skill, you can sell stolen items at the merchant in Star Camp, Moon Camp or Sun Camp.

Here’s an easy trick on how to easily steal an item from the Star Camp merchant and sell it back to him:

Go to Star Camp and find the merchant. Behind him is a chest. Go into stealth mode and loot it. Now go back to the merchant and sell your stolen goods to him.

Stolen items can be sold at Traveler camps (Star Camp, Moon Camp and Sun Camp).

This means that you need to steal an item and sell it to a buyer of stolen goods. There are buyers in the Star, Lunar and Solar camps.
