How to unlock the It Didn't Explode! achievement in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - Definitive Guide

You can first attempt this in the alchemy shop in the town of Gorhart. Head downstairs and approach the alchemy lab and activate it. From here, select experiment from the options. You will be shown a list of all the reagants you own. You can play around with ingredients and make all types of potions from here.

Personally I had a few Black Cohosh and Embereyes. Combine the two of them for a minor health potion, and this achievement.

Black Cohosh (2 needed) and Embereyes (1 needed).

Unatainable if you've (ever) maxed out Alchemy. Must use older save or restart a game.

Not sure fateweaving would work. At max alchemy you automatically learn all recipes and those don't become unlearned even if you fateweave. Best to just get this achievement out of the way early.

You need to craft your own potion to get this achievement. It can be first achieved in the town of Gorhart.

You can find a list of recipes on the game's wikia page. I take no credit for it but you'll find it quite useful during your journey: http://amalur.wikia.com/wiki/Alchemical_Recipes

You will be shown a list of all the reagants you own. Hopefully you have successfully harvested a few by this point in the game. If not, head back out into the world and walk up and activate (press X) on any of the plants you find. You can play around with ingredients and make all types of potions from here.

As a side note; If you reach 10 skillpoints in Alchemy before you do this, you will not be able to get this on your current playtrough, since you learn all recepies at 10 alchemy.

The first possible place to mix potions is in Gohart, in the western foremost building opposite the blacksmith. If you take a right when you enter, you'll be in the the basement. There you will find an alchemy mixing station and you can experiment. A few quick examples can be found in this thread HERE. You will also get this if you wait to do "Elixir of Fate."

Note that if you increase your Alchemy skill to level 10 before getting this, you'll automatically learn every recipe and will not be able to unlock it! Start a new save file if you do this by accident.

Go to an Alchemy bench and select Experiment. From there you can choose any reagent you have and combine it with a second reagent or up to 4 reagents, depending on your Alchemy skill. Select whatever reagents you want and press :square: to start the experiment. It will either result in a failed experiment or a potion. (If your Alchemy skill is level 1 or higher, failed experiments will result in an Unstable potion).

The essence of the trophy is to create a potion through experimentation, that is, the hero does not have a recipe for it.

We find an alchemical laboratory (for example, in the town of Gorhart, where we will get literally at the beginning of the game. There is a Golden Age Alchemy store, where you can use the laboratory), select an experiment, use the fairly common components Black Cohosh and Embereyes, and get a potion of small health restoration.

The method described above is suitable at the initial stages of the game. When alchemy is not yet very advanced and recipes have not been learned.

If anyone didn’t take this achievement at the beginning of the playthrough, they bought a bunch of recipes. Then you need to look for an unstudied recipe and mix its components in an experiment.
