How to unlock the Loremaster achievement in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - Definitive Guide

http://www.gamesradar.com/kingdoms-amalur-reckoning-loreston...

This guide from games radar makes this really easy. It has all of the lorestones coded by type, and the images are hi-res enough that it very clear where they are. If you have your detect hidden maxed out it's even easier.

I should note that you'll need detect hidden of at least 5 to get to the last lorestones on gorguath cave.

It should be noted as Missable, in the wecani dungeon there is a fall stone that needs Ordo to open a door. Ordo got killed for me in the next room, so I had to go back to an old save

Just a note you just need to find 175 stones. If U have the dlc the 10 from there count towards that. I just got the achivo and haven't found all the stones yet. Im 10 short of the original but the 10 in dlc made up for it. So if ur stuck on a few and have the dlc id suggest finding those ones.

There is a bug in the main story questline making the following achievements unobtainable for that playtrough:

Destiny Defiant
Green Thumb
Loremaster
Destiny Dominated

A fix is intended for this glitch as announced per 16-05-2012

source: http://forums.reckoning.amalur.com/showthread.php?5901-Repor...

*spoiler alert*

The glitch occurs when a player destroys any of the tuata mirror/crystals (after the Hero of Mel Senshir achievement in the new area which unlocks then) before the main quest "Silence Falls" is obtaind and/or inactive.

Also worth noting, if you want to you can go to a fateweaver to reset your skills and put 10 points into detect hidden to show the locations of all lorestones on the mini-map/local map

Does anybody know if previously examined stones will be taken off the mini map? I've been touching these when I find them. But I might want to go back and get the ones I'm missing. Won't want to touch ones I've previously gotten though.

It's been a few years, but yes, stones that you have already interacted with no longer show up on the mini-map (with maxed Detect Hidden), so it's an easy way to keep track of your progress in-game.

Just a short addition to the previous already stellar solutions. With the release of the DLC you should note the Achievement unlocks after 175 stones (the amount in the original game). That is, it unlocks after ANY 175- including the DLC stones. This can be helpful if you are having trouble finding all those annoying fall stones.

Hope this helps.

The best way to hunt for lorestones is to get "Detect Hidden" all the way up. Now before you say "Screw this, I want to invest in something else!" there is a way for both possibilites. What I mean is the great occupation of a Fateweaver (shown on the map as two overlaying cards). They will reset your skills so you can map them again anywhere you want. So max your Detect Hidden skill, and look on your minimap when you explore. When you open the map you can go into local view and it will show you hidden boxes, doors, lorestones for their required milestones, respectedly. When you are done, remap your skills back to what they were and it is as easy as that. The only tedius part is walking to the lorestones, since now you have them all on your map (they are a bluu looking circle on the map).
Edit1:There is only one fateweaver that I know of (more in link) and that is in the house of ballads in Ordarath (which is in Dalentarth). One inside the house of ballads, go to the door on the left door out of the three infront of the circle. It should be called summer sanctuary. In there, in the back right there is a female fae named Arvia, she is a fateweaver. You would need some money in order to reskill yourself which not only resets your skills but also your abilities which play in the destinies too. Walk up to the fateweaver and press Y to acess their service. The amount changes for everyones first depending on lvl,my first time was 4,608 coins at around lvl 18 I believe. The next time was also 4,608 coins, but the thrid time was 9,216 (doubled). So my guess is that it can be done as many times as you have the money to purchase the service. Two things to note: skills from trainers and skillbooks will not be reset and will stay in there respected areas, and even when the lorestones now appear on your map, if it is a new area the map will still have uncovered darkness about it which you can't see things from the detect hidden on the map (excludes minimap) until you run about.
Just something I found as I run around collecting the stones, the red marches stones are only accessible by completing the quest in Galette (camp in RM). Each quest complete will give you key to go further in a tomb that has doors leading out where the lorestones are. You only need to do three fast quest and it should be completely open. There are two quest givers, do one quest each, and finishing those two will start a third when you return to camp. The only other reason I can think a lorestone is inaccessible is if a cve is shut off and I believe that may be the case for a set dealing with the house of ballads. If there are any more that are not easy to get to (in terms of right away) post in the comments and I will update.
FALL LORESTONES- ok... Well I am hunting down the fall lorestones and after visiting EVERY area in the game and not finding any, I decided to check dungeons... ALL of them. This was the most boring grind in the game of checking, discovering, and writting down which dungeons have them.. all for you guys, so here they are:
Agnur Farhal, there are two here. Just follow the road north out of Gorhart and take the first right.
There is one at the Blackened hall which is on the south east corner of Tywili Coast.
A Pilgram's setback takes place here at Mull-rane, where there are two more lorestones to be found. It is on the top right side of the LEFT PLAIN of the Forsaken Plain (Two areas).
Next five are across the river like seperation of the Faelands (so you will need to progress in story to reach here).
The next lorestone is at Foe's Hearth, which is in the top right of Cursewood.
Another after that is Damalroc, which is in the bottom right of Caeled Coast.
Mordus-Torr, it is on the east side of shadow pass, in the part that splits.
The last ones are in Weconai, which is on the part of Twilight Pass that bends downwards.
Thats the end of it.
Edit1: M0istpoosey:Great question- adding
Edit2: H2O Paladin: Clearing it up.
Edit3: Optravis Prime: Correcting some english
Edit4:zero judgement

I did some looking about and I found an article on IGN (good helpful site if they have the info) that list 7 fate weavers (including mine).
http://www.ign.com/wikis/kingdoms-of-amalur-reckoning/Fatewe...
I also found another little help from IGN (man they are awesome), involving skills, with this you can get 4 free lvls in detect, and anything else. http://www.ign.com/wikis/kingdoms-of-amalur-reckoning/Traine...
If you downvote please leave a comment why. Improvements are welcomed and will be credited.

Great work-in-progress. I'm voting positive under the assumption you're going to continue posting the lorestones inside dungeons, which is a huge help. I currently can't find the final Dalentarth stone, either.

By Tanogrus on 14 Feb 2012 16:37
@ Frankie, the fall ones are ones that are only in dungeons, I listed them so you didn't have to check them. The other ones that are found in dungeons are dungeon specific, so if you go to stats, lorestones, and you check the ones without a golden check, it tells you the dungeon name they belong too.

@ H2O There should be 2 quest givers, accept both quest. When you finish them both, a third quest will appear when you return. If this is not the case I can't think of anything since this was the first time I entered red marches, which means I did no prerequisites.

Little thing I found helped.

Save before you reset your skills and create a new game save after you have for this cheevo only.

Thus meaning you dont have to sacrifice hours of gameplay in one stint on tackling the stones.

To be honest if you save before you use a Fateweaver you can get Elixer of Fate, Master of the Forge and
Romancing the Gem without it effecting your game

Save before spending 200000 coins as well

"What I mean is the great occupancy of a Fateweaver (shown on the map as two overlaying cards)."

You realize occupancy doesn't mean anything close to what you think it does, right? The word makes absolutely no sense in this sentence.

Do Lorestones you've already found show up differently on the map? I've discovered plenty and would hate to have to jog round searching for them all when most of them will already have been located.

You can do this as many times as you want... you simply have to pay each time you do it. By endgame though money should not be a big problem (I'm halfway through and up in the 100k range most of the time). All you have to do is find a fate weaver at any of the areas he listed, pay them and reset your skills.

There is a total of 170 Lorestones in the original game. With 10 skill points in detect magic, you will be able to see the Lorestones marked on your map.

Usually, except for a few, each set of stones is within a certain area of the map, so when you the message "...set complete" you can progress to the next area.

The trophy unlocks at 170 Lorestones, so if you have done both DLCs(20 Lorestones) you can skip a few in the original game.

Here is Gamesradar's guide, complete with maps of all the stones.
http://www.gamesradar.com/kingdoms-amalur-reckoning-loreston...

Have fun!

Lorestones are obelisk-like structures found throughout the world that offer bonus XP per stone found and insight to history and lore behind the game's story, culture, and lives of the people in the game. All Lorestone locations can be found at the IGN site HERE. Another easy way to do this is to make sure you put enough points in Detect Hidden to be maxed out, this will show you all locations of Lorestones on the local map.

There are 170 Lorestones in total, spread out all over Amalur. First and foremost, you need a Detect hidden skill level of 5. Which also requires your character to be at least level 8. The reason is that there are Lorestones in secret areas. These areas can only be found and accessed by opening secret doors. To make it easier on yourself, get the level 10 Detect Hidden skill. This will show the Lorestones on your mini map and local world map. (If you've explored enough, you can pretty much find every Lorestone without a guide with a level 10 Detect Hidden skill.) You can check how many Lorestones from each set you’ve found via the Status menu > Lorestones.

Text Walkthrough: Lorestone Walkthrough by IGN

The Legend of Dead Kel & Teeth of Naros - Extra Lorestones.

Both DLCs have new Lorestones that can be found. Instead of finding all 170 Lorestones in the game itself, you can also find some in either or both DLC's and the remaining ones in the game itself.

You can greatly simplify the search for stones if you invest 10 points in the Detect Hidden skill, then the stones will be displayed on the mini-map.

I finished collecting after the plot, there were no special difficulties, except for the Castle Windmere location (not marked on the map), I spent a long time looking for the entrance. The entrance to this location is in Summer's End . Maybe it will be useful to someone.

There are practically no locations to which you cannot return, only the final mission of the DLC "Legend of Dead Kel"

You don't need to collect all the Lorestones, you just need to collect a certain number. if you bought DLC, each DLC contains 10 Lorestones, they count towards the count.

In this trophy you need to collect a certain number of stones, not sets, since the remaster also includes additions and there are stones there, they also count towards the count, there are stones from sets like winter, autumn, summer, which are scattered throughout the game world randomly, they can be in any cave at all, you don’t need to collect everything, pump detection to the maximum and collect those that are easy to get, find or along the way, by the end of the game you may already have collected the required amount and save yourself from tedious searches, I received a trophy in the last location before the final boss and did not collect 6 more sets.

I didn’t collect all the stones, but I got the trophy; most likely I need to find a certain number of stones.
Z.y. The following stones were not received at the time of receiving the trophy:
albastra - 3/5
autumn - 6/10
bail - 0/5
amaura - 0/5
winter - 7/10
The rest of the stones were obtained including from DLC

Recently (presumably 2021.11) the conditions of the trophy have changed - you need to “collect” ALL the stones in the main world and DLC, not counting “fatesworn”. This effectively made the trophy missable.

More details - in one of the dungeons of Alabastra (Weconai), a man is sitting in a cage almost at the entrance - he asks for help to free an NPC located in the depths of the dungeon. We need to go together, if a man is killed along the way, one of the doors will no longer open. We are unable to collect one of the “stones of autumn”.

As soon as possible, upgrade Detection to maximum, the stones will be visible on the map. If the area is not open, then they will not be visible. Sometimes it happened that, when running between locations, I opened the map and saw stones, enemies and chests even when everything was dark. Most of the Autumn Stones are in dungeons, check all the paths. There are NPCs who can upgrade a skill for money, where you can improve it very well.

This trophy can only be missed if you fail the quest in the cave (pictured)

and the NPC dies, then the door will not open, otherwise there are no problems, turn detection to maximum and collect.
If you missed the stones of the seasons and cannot find them, use the videos posted above. They perfectly explain where each of the stones of the seasons is.

You can also track the statistics of found stones in the menu: status - lorestones.
And I want to add that there is no need to confuse people! All stones can be found after the end of the story! There are no closed locations in the game; you can safely collect them after the end of the storyline.
