How to unlock the Niskaru Slayer achievement in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - Definitive Guide
In "The Wolds" territory in the Plains of Erathell there is a woman named Singing Nell that lives in a tent just outside of Ayten (east side) When you talk to her she will give you the quest "The Erathell's Blessing" send you south to Windstone circle to activate the stones and receive a blessing. If the stones are activated in any order other than ascending from lowest to highest note, a Niskaru hunter will spawn in the center of the circle. While you won't receive any experience points, or any good loot from them, they do count towards the achievement, so just run in a circle activating the stones, kill the Niskaru and repeat.
**Note: Once you receive the blessing, as far as I am aware, you won't be able to activate the stones anymore other than to receive the blessing again, so get the achievement before doing so.**
Thanks to EL HORSE for reminding me of the quests name.

All you have to do is, avoid hitting the stones in sequence from the lowest to the highest. Lowest, Low, Middle, High, Highest. Do NOT hit the stones in that order, and you will get the achieve without much trouble. Or, you could just go ahead and do the Warsworn Faction questline. That will net you this achievement as well.

just finished the Warsworn story line and it did not pop - wondering if there's a glitch or if only certain types count...

Easier way to accomplish this is to just complete the Warsworn questline. You will fight plenty of Niskaru as you go. It popped for me toward the end of the quest line when your trekking up a big mountain.

Unless you're trying to get achievements as early as possible, you don't need to worry about this one. You should get it as you play through the main story, and definitely if you do the warsworn quests. In later areas, Niskaru are normal respawning monsters.
This isn't so much of a solution as it is an addition to some of the solution already posted on here. When doing the Traveler's story missions, a later one will take you to an area called the Blackened Hall, where you need to retrieve an artifact needed for this story mission. Inside the Blackened Hall are several Niskaru, usually in packs of 2 or 3.
Other than that, go with the Warsworn missions, too, as stated previously in other solutions.

If you are working on every trophy for this game, than this one will come naturally as you make your way through the Warsworn questline. Throughout the questline you will be faced with nearly 40 Niskaru so don't feel you need to grind this one out to make it count. Also, once you get to Klurikon a lot of Niskaru are randomly spawned enemies within the world so again, simply playing the game and working on other trophies will net this one no problem.
For those looking to grab this particular one, here's a helpful tip found on TrueAchievements to help. This will come through normal play. They’re named Niskaru, so once you’ve seen one, you’ve pretty much seen them all. Niskaru’s aren’t that difficult, but they deal a great amount of damage. A single Niskaru shouldn’t be a big problem, but if there are multiple, be careful and try to pack them together for AoE (Area of Effect) attacks. You'll come across most Niskaru's via the Warsworn Faction quest line and the last few Main Quests.
You will get this with natural story progression.
However, there is an infinite Niskaru spawn available during "The Erathell's Blessing" side quest in Ayten if you want to knock this out quickly. Go to Ayten (first city along the road in the Plains of Etrathell) and talk to Singing Nell. She'll give you a quest to activate the five Windstones at Ayten Circle. The trick is to not activate them in the correct order, which is Lowest, Low, Medium, High, Highest. Starting at any one stone, activate each stone in a counter-clockwise motion (but not the correct pattern). This will summon a Niskaru. Defeat and repeat.

Almost a plot trophy. In the first quest of the main storyline, you will be sent to a dungeon, where at the end you will meet 2 of these cute animals. Niskaru are somewhat similar to huge reddish upright bats with blades instead of wings. Then, while exploring the world of Amalur, you will often meet them, especially in the quests of the main storyline.

There will be a quest in the game in which you need to activate 5 musical obelisks for the incorrect activation order, this little animal appears 25 times incorrectly activated and the prize is yours.
