How to unlock the The End of Tears achievement in Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series - Definitive Guide

Story related. Cannot be missed.

This trophy is unlocked in Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil.

The King of Sorrow is the game's main antagonist and the final boss in the story of Klonoa 2. Like Nahatomb in the first game, this boss fight has different phases that have different approaches for each one when fighting against him.

Phase 1
This phase of the fight starts off with a similar approach to Polonte from the fourth set of levels, where Klonoa will use his board to rush in towards the King of Sorrow, except this takes more of the approach from the second part of the aforementioned fight, where Klonoa will throw enemies at him to deal damage.

The objective here is to grab a new enemy known as the Nemo Moo and throw it toward him while avoiding the spiked balls that appear throughout this part of the fight. He will sometimes stop dead in his tracks, which will give Klonoa the chance to attack him when he does (provided he has already grabbed a Nemo Moo beforehand). Repeat this pattern as much as possible until you have destroyed this form to reach this fight's second phase.

Phase 2
This phase of the fight will have him encased in an orb with two bits that come down on Klonoa's path. These bits can be stopped whenever Klonoa shoots at either one with his ring so he can grab them from behind, and the objective in this phase of the fight is to destroy the mechanisms that are around the King's force field.

To start off, there are four mechanisms that initially appear with light coming out of them. Each one of these four will take up to two hits to destroy and be sure that you have stopped any one of the two bits in your path before going for the mechanisms, as they will disappear after a certain amount of time has passed. Keep in mind that these mechanisms will change color from green to yellow once you have attacked any one of them for the first time.

Once the first four mechanisms have been destroyed, two more will appear, but with a red light coming out of them. This time around, it will take three hits to destroy them, so be sure to repeat the same process you did before by stopping any one of the two bits dead in their tracks so he can grab them from behind, and attack the mechanisms whenever they come close to Klonoa's path. Be sure to jump when needed to attack them to make sure that you have attacked the mechanism you are going for until you have defeated this boss.
