How to unlock the Virtual Reality achievement in Knights of Pen & Paper 2 Deluxiest Edition - Definitive Guide

This achievement is for finishing the Virtual Reality quest line. It has 4 parts tied to each page of the bestiary, along with a 5th part related to the Origami DLC. You need to fight every enemy 28 times to max their bestiary entry. To check the bestiary press cn_back and select the icon that looks like a monster. You can see what % you have for each enemy here. The single best tip I can give is to buy the bookworm player from the magazines ASAP and make one of your characters a bookworm. This doubles the amount of bestiary progress you get for an enemy killed, halving the number of enemies you need to kill for this. The first step is to simply play through the game. The questline does not appear until very late in the game. I had finished the Upper Tunnels, an area that is part of the Back to the Source DLC when this quest appeared in the Laboratory. You'll need to go through the entire DLC to get the last few enemies. Once you've finished the story, go through each page of the bestiary and max every enemy. Each page unlocks one part of the quest.

Most enemies are easy, you simply go to the area where they are and fight them until the bestiary is maxed. Enemies that can only be found in dungeons are a little more difficult, but there is still a trick. Check rooms in the dungeon until you find a room with enemies. Kill all the enemies but one and then flee. Go back into the room for another fight. The enemy composition changes with each fight so you may not always get what you want, but it's much faster than going through all the traps and events that dungeons usually have.

The only enemy that deserves special mention is the mimic. You can get 5 at once during the quest, but if you don't get 100% for mimics there, you can only fight them one at a time as the "boss" of a dungeon, which is indescribly slower. Here's a list of all the enemies, and where they can be found.

Just got this achievement. Last one I needed was the Greater Doppleganger. Went to the high school, found them all in one room, attacked the last one based off initiation. Once I killed as many before they transformed, I fled from the fight. This leaves the room open while you collect more towards your total. Just rinse and repeat until you hit the 100% needed.

I haven’t earned the achievement yet but I used the same strategy for the mimics during the snow cone side quest. You go to the wall to pick up the snow cone and get attacked by five mimics when trying to get the chest. Kill all but one and flee, rinse and repeat.

Mimics can be found as enemies in the Temple of Broken Balance too.

The mimic at the temple of broken balance appears with additional enemies so you can kill the mimic, and the use the run away function to increase the mimic in the beastiary. Definitely needed bookworm. I used bookworm - human - psion. She even came in useful with the doppelgangers because YOU HAVE TO KILL THEM BEFORE THEY TRANSFORM. Like Shadow TAH said, you can find 7 of them as the boss at the high school. Kill as many as your iniaitive allows before they transform, run away, rinse and repeat.

One of these VR quests requires you to get 20 sausage drops from enemies. I battled over and over and never found a sausage. I then decided to just buy a sausage from the shop, and my required number went down to 19. So I bought all the rest. I never did get one from a drop.

To gain this achievements, you'll have to finish the quest "Virtual Reality" that will be given at the laboratory (unlocked close to the end of the game).
This quest is divided in 4 parts, linked to the pages of the bestiary you have completed.
Each time you'll get 100% for all foes in a page, you'll have to
.

It can take time to complete all page, most of all if you try to do that after finishing the game (that's what I did).
Fortunately you can use fight option in all places to find 90% of the enemies, but some of them only appears in dungeons.
On my opinion, it's better to try to do it during walkthrough, as a lot of specific enemies appears more often during some quests... in fact it will be a good way to level up quickly.

As soon as you finished the 4th part of the quest, you'll get the achievement

Even though it is not missable, you can easily forget to do it if you are not paying attention. You can only start this once you reach the Laboratory in the main story plot (near the end of the main plot). For this achievement, you will need to finish 4 side-quest for getting the bestiary to 100%.

Each side-quest focus on a page of the bestiary. To get a creature to 100% you will need to kill a specific number of them (28 typically). Luckily, the monsters you killed before will count and you don't have to start from 0.

The monsters are scattered throughout the world and this will be a lengthy achievement to get. Refer to THIS THREAD for more details on monsters and locations. The 'Mimic' will be a pain as it only appears randomly.

Once you finish getting all monsters in page 1 to 100%, return to the Laboratory and fight the bosses on VR. They will then give you the next quest and so on.
