This achievement can be extremely buggy and might not unlock even after you complete the game without killing any animals.
To make sure that you will get the achievement, DO NOT EVEN ENGAGE with both the real animals and the Brune animals (the ghost looking ones). Do not even hit the animals once and just run away.
The only times that you can kill an animal is the two Brune wolves found inside the secret labratory in the mines. You will know that you can kill these two wolves because you cannot progress any further if you do not.

This is actually easier than it sounds. Every Wolf and Bear ran away from me during my play through on EASY so just defeat the spirit animals.

I played in survival mode, never hit/shot/killed an animal and still the achievement did not pop. Quick research and I found out that this also happens on steam/PS5. You either are not allowed to kill any animal, even brume ones or its using firearms that voids the achievement. Only way to get this seems to be another playthrough on easy difficulty and avoiding any animal and of course escaping any encounter without killing one.

People on Steam forums mentioned they sometimes fired a gun to scare the animals off, I just ran away every time so I guess this is the issue. Played on survival and killed every ghost animal.
