How to unlock the Metal Detector achievement in Lake - Definitive Guide

I found the metal detector guy on the 5th day sometimes on the right and sometimes on the left side of the dirt road that leads to Mr. Raynolds farm. After you talk to him the achievement will pop.

If you miss him at the farm he can be caught at the motel on day 14.

September 6th he was in front of Reynolds farm. On the right as you drive up.

Ha, this is brilliant. Just come across him and it's a lovely homage to a series called Detectorists. If you've not seen it then I highly recommend Detectorists - gentle but brilliant and really quite lovely.

I found him on day 9 by the watchtower.

Day 4 he can be found on the side of the long dirt road that starts near your house. If you're looking at the map, find your house. Your house is in the right square, then to the top left of the left square is the first road. I found him about halfway up the road. He's wearing a green jacket.

Get this on the 9th when he is at the watchtower and climb the watchtower for that achievement too. Two birds, 1 stone.

You can also find him out front of the motel on Day 13 (or at least I did, this might be dependent on finding him on day 5).

If he is not at the Farm, Try also to check the Motel / Campground /Watchtower.

For me I missed him few times, so on Sept 11th I was able to spot him easily at the campground in his green jacket!

Andy will appear randomly across the map as you progress through the game, keep an eye on the grass verges outside Reynolds Farm and the Motel.

I found him outside the Motel on the final Saturday morning.

You won’t need to worry about the dialogue choices, just speak to him and once you leave the conversation the Trophy will reveal.

Missable. 

On September 5th, you'll need to deliver a box to Reynolds Farm. While you're at the Farm, look into the surrounding fields and there will be a man walking around with a metal detector. 


Talk to the man (Andy) and exhaust the conversation. When it's done, the trophy will unlock. If you miss him on this day, he'll also be roaming on the side of the road near the Hotel on September 13th (you'll need to deliver a box here).

*MISSABLE*

On September 5, one of your deliveries is a package to the Reynolds Farm. As you are driving up to the farm (located at around the 3 o’clock position of the lake), look to your left and right in the fields and you might see a man in a green jacket walking around. If you see him, drive up to him, get out of your truck and start a conversation with him. Once you finish the conversation (the dialogue choices do not matter), the achievement will unlock.

Note: If he is not at the farm on this day, check back on other days. He may also be located in a few other spots, such as around the watchtower, the Oregon Trail motel, or at the campground.
