That's probably what happened to me. I cut the first lawn 98.2% and it didn't pop yet.

The completion rate is 99% for the very first level, no wonder why it didn't pop for me. I couldn't even mop it up to 98%, and this game doesn't even offer a tutorial... Any tips of mopping up the rate to 100%? I had cut everywhere, don't think I left any undone

Make sure you get the requirement for how much grass got cut. I didn’t notice it before. But along with expected time to complete and grass cut length. There is a requirement for how much lawn gets cut. It’s normally like 99.5% of the lawn. So I think if the achievement isn’t unlocking than it more than likely means the lawn isn’t being fully cut

Story Related. 

After you purchase your first mower in Career Mode, you'll have to choose the first contract before you can continue. When you complete this contract, this trophy will unlock.
