This should be achieved for completing one of the three endings in the game.

My playthroughs:
1-Self Portrait. Got SELF PORTRAIT achv. ALL ENDINGS achv moved to 33%
2-Wife. No WIFE achv, ALL ENDINGS stayed at 33%

3-Wife and Child. No ending achv. ALL ENDINGS moved to 66%!
4-Wife. No WIFE achv!! ALL ENDINGS stayed at 66%

**Deleted all local and cloud saves**
5-Self Portrait. No ending achv. ALL ENDINGS stayed at 66%

Gonna try Wife ending again soon... but if that doesn't work... I think I'm DONE with this fucking game.

The RAT SKETCH and MEMORIES achvs were also stuck at 92% and 86% until AFTER I deleted cloud saves and did playthrough #5 when they both popped around Chapter 4 or 5.

Just added a note to the solution. I don't think anyone has been able to find out what exactly causes the endings. I've seen 2/3. First time I rushed through without picking up anything. Ending I got was Ending 2. Second time I spent a lot more time looking in cabinets and shelves. Got Ending 1 there. However, at the end of Chapter 5, when the painting was starting to take shape, I could see ending 3 happening, but I actually got ending 1 after finishing.

That's interesting. I'll have to try. Honestly, the specter of glitches achievements makes playing on the XB1 so much less fun.

Unfortunately I don't think it will make a difference. I've seen someone with this issue on Rocket League.

Yep it is the broken achievement system. Just did a run on the new account, got wife painting and got achievement. Sorry man.

I'm playing it through a third time. My plan is to see if it pops then. I'll try to get the achievement for all endings and maybe do a collectable run too. If, after all that bullcrap, it doesn't pop, then I will delete the save and redo the SOB again, lol.

Hold up, did you complete the epilogue thing at the end of the wife ending? You get your key, go back to your office, then reveal the canvas again, then the credits roll.

I just completed it, Did ending: Self portrait, then Wife & Child, and wife last.
This achievement is for what you do after the wife ending.

Finally got it tonight. If it sticks at 100, just delete all saves, local and cloud, uninstall the game and redo the SOB again.

Hmm, apparently the 100% locked thing is exactly the same as "Done! Unlocking..." So strange... Anyway glad it fixed itself.

I just completed my third play through. This time I got the wife ending but NO 'Finishing Touch' achievement! I am also waiting for all of the collectibles achievements to pop. I have all rodent pictures on the wall, but the achievement tracker says I am still at 95%! The three playthroughs achievement shows me at 33% What in the world is going on?!?

I had problems with this and Omniscient unlocking even though I'd met all the requirements. I quit the game, went onto the game hub, then to achievements and they both immediately popped. Hopefully this might help someone who's had similar issues :)

I got this after ending 2. You have to go back to your office (grab the developers photo album first for the other achievement), grab the key, and go back down to the painting room. Wait a minute, and interact with the canvas. Credits start rolling, and you got the achievement.

I got ending 2 but didn't get it - just now played through chapter 6 again through the credits, and it popped right when I uncovered the blank canvas.

I got the wife ending but when I go to the MOR, there is no canvas on the easel, therefore nothing for me to uncover...

Edit: I walked around a bit in the room and faced the chest to the left of the easel then the screen flickered and the canvas appeared on the easel and I was able to uncover it. *shrug*

Completed Self Portrait and Wife and Child. No pop (as expected). About to try a Wife only run. Fingers crossed I pop the last three achievements (this, photo album, all endings).

I have never heard of that before. Very strange indeed. I guess you could try doing another playthrough. Someone told me that they didn't unlock it until their second playthrough.

I completed the game and got the wife painting, however the achievement did not unlock.
If you go back to the studio and collect the key off the desk then go back to the art room have a look around (I looked at the 6 door cabinet) and a painting will appear on the stand, click on this and the credits will roll which unlocked the achievement for me! Hope this helps.

How do you go back to studio?
Do you load a specific chapter or replay last chapter as I can't continue?

You defo need the wife painting. If you originally got self portrait then just replay chapter 6 and make sure to go to her ghost 1st time you see her and then when you fall down through door again wait around until you meet her and run through as quick as you can and that gave me the wife portrait and hence to ability to follow your guide which worked perfectly

So I played the game and got the wife ending her portrait burns and then the credits roll what am I doing wrong ?

It doesn’t put me in the house again do collectables have something to do with this as I’m only missing rat achievement and word achievement

I got the ending with the wife and baby, then the guy and the achievement didn't unlock. I think you need to get the neutral ending (the wife painting) then get the key to the art room, uncover the photo to view the credits and then you'll get the achievement.

Thank you, this helped me get the achievement. It also updated my tracker for the Omniscient achievement which was stuck at 33% after I did the Painter and then wife runs. Following this got it to move to 66% which is the correct amount.

Just to summarize:

Get the wife ending (this was my 3rd ending if that matters)
You wake upstairs in the hallway next to the room full of wife paintings.
Go into the office with the furboy painting and grab the key from on the desk.
Go downstairs and open the only locked door which is the painter's room.
Walk up to the canvas stand with no canvas.
Turn around and look at the window.
Turn back and there will now be a covered canvas.
Pull off the cover.

DUDE.. this is the complete fix right here.

The ending of the wife painting. I did not uncover the painting and it was my first finish so it wasnt evident that I should have. Thats probably what a majority of the issues are. The minute i played thru a 4th time and did this exactly, it popped both of my missing achievements, this one and omniscient.
