if you are going to boost this cheevo get yourself and two other peeps. when one of them is a smoker try and get near them so that you can stop them straight away and get your other pal in position to get "snared"

If you don't want to boost, then here goes:

When you come out of a safe room at the beginning of any chapter (Especially in versus) there will be a smoker nearby, if there is there will be some coughing from the smoker, then you need to be on the lookout. most the time in versus inexperienced players will go on the roof of the safe room or next building along, but experienced players will find the most obvious places and wont get seen, to find them look for green smoke.

3 things might happen :

1.Your team-mates dispose of them before it even does anything
2.The smoker grabs you and if you seen it and are looking right at it, shoot (Assault rifles, Uzi and pistols work best)
3.The smoker grabs a team-mate and if you seen it and are looking right at it, shoot (Assault rifles, Uzi and pistols work best)

For this achievement, you need No. 3

Difficulty: 2/10

You can do this is Single Player or Multiplayer with a friend.

I personally suggest Multiplayer. Have your friend stand next to you and wait for a Smoker to appear. As soon as one does, back off a little so the Smoker focus' on your friend. Once the Smoker grabs him with its tongue you need to take action. When your friend is fully pulled to the Smoker and is clawed by him, you fail.

So your goal is to wait for your friend to get grabbed, and while your friend is being pulled over to the Smoker, you need to either:

1. Melee your friend.
2. Melee the Smoker.
3. Shoot and kill the Smoker.

This will get you your achievement.
