Ok tried the above and it didn't update my tracker from 47% but gave it another go just in case and as I was doing it the achievement just unlocked.

Great solution, i only had 20 wrecks at finishing the game so appreciated this heaps.

The other solution is viable but I wanted to share this alternative. The On-The-Go event, Wrong Kind of Nitro, in Prospecto Valley has you moving TNT from the land to a nearby lake and if you touch anything you blow up. The event is located in top left of the map, near the Clover Mines race. It’s a short distance from the starting point of the event to the TNT. Simply pick one up and crash into anything. I was able to get 28 wrecks in 3:20.

Enter the challenge where it is a game where you need to cross the finish line without being blown up by the robot on the side.
