It's actually not my method, I added it after seeing it in a few threads. Didn't need it myself, I just used a random character. The real trick is to switch to the closer character IMO.

I used the dog method on 7-2 and as a bonus I plugged in a second controller and left that guy to the dementors. He slowed them to a crawl and i sprinted ahead, grabbed the piece and had alot of time to spare. +1 from me

After many MANY attempts, I finally tried MRKNRK's idea and It makes a HUGE deference. Not only did I get the last piece that I needed, but I could get up and dance before getting nipped in the rear. You should make note in your guide just so people like me don't spend hours yelling at the T.V wondering why I suck as a gamer because slytherin hates me. Thanks for the guide!

Just wanna point out that the gold brick in the mirror (Borgin & Burkes) is part of the 37 ones, PLUS you get one extra for completing the bonus level.

I want to give everyone a head's up, last night i was playing and got all the way to 99.7% (frustrating right) i'm banging my head, looking on every website for clues, i even went to the 3rd page of google (GASP!) lol....if you are stuck at 99.7% and you have EVERYTHING in required list, go back to character purchase screen in diagon alley and make sure you did not forget to buy someone...i forgot to buy 2 people and as soon as i did i got the achievement...hope this helps for some people

I ended up with one gold brick missing. Couldn't find it anywhere. I googled for "Missing one gold brick" and came across this page on the warner bros. site:

http://support.wbgames.com/link/portal/24022/24028/Article/2...

Followed the instructions, entered the code and, pop! Got my 100% achievement. Don't know if one of mine glitched, or I just missed one, but either way that saved me some serious grief.

On a side note, that page suggests that this'll work once your game hits 90% complete. Curious to whether you can skip a fair chunk of the item collecting this way.

For those who's stuck on 99.8% or 99.9%, remember to buy all characters, each one increase 0.2% and every Red Brick increase 0.1%. I stuck on 99.9 and the Red Brick that's the one whose missing.

Hi there, I'm writing the walkthrough for this currently and would love permission to use your guide. I know it says it's okay to use it on TA.com at the bottom but I just wanted to double check first. Credit and a link to the guide will be used as well as the contents of the guide if that is okay with yourself! Thanks

Has anyone else encountered seeing a red brick detector icon over a red brick you already collected? I used the cheats to get most of them but for some reason the detector icon is still hovering. Does anyone know if this is a game breaker? I have the red brick in question, I just don't know if the game is acknowledging this.

If you used cheat codes for red bricks, then you don't need to collect them, just visit a new room and the progress will go up. Also if you do collect the red brick you already have, the indicator for it does not go away, neither does the ghost update to tell you that you have it.

Just a suggestion for everyone struggling with 199/200 gold bricks. I went to every room in Hogwarts and eventually found that my missing brick was in the Herbology classroom. The gold brick detector doesn't indicate where it is in the classroom for some reason.

You have to ride the vacuum and clean up 5 messes. The last one I didn't do was near the cactus in the wall. I found the last mess and the last gold brick showed up.

Hope this helps people!

Tried your dog method on level 7-2 going for the green piece without success. Found a link on youtube that showed Bellatrix doing it. Tried that and got it first time. Just a thought for others that are having a tough time.

Steps for how to use codes:

* Load up LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7
* Select Load Game
* Select your saved game (This will needs to be 90% complete or more)
* Go to the Diagon Alley shops and enter the Weasley Wizard Wheezes shop (the large Purple and Orange Joke shop)
* On the ground floor, walk to the left to the Jack in the box code enter board
* Enter the code for the missing collectible (if you are missing more than one collectible, be sure to enter each code one after the other. Do not leave the shop between entering codes or they will become invalid!)
* After successfully entering the code or codes, press start to pause the game to check the percentage; it should now read 100%.
* Leave the shop and go to the Leaky Cauldron
* When in the Leaky Cauldron, stand on the level select pad, Select any level and select ‘Free Play’
* When in the Free Play level, collect some studs and pause the game, select ‘Return to Leaky Cauldron’ and then select ‘Save and Exit’ from the pause menu

You should now arrive back in the Leaky Cauldron with the game at 100%! Well done!

This is your pretty standard Lego 100% job (if you have played and 100% any previous Lego title) you'll know you need to,

Collect all 200 Gold Bricks - 24 for completing each level, 24 for the Hogwarts Crests, 24 for True Wizard on each level,60 for saving each Student in Peril, 16 can be bought in Borgin and Burkes, 14 for completing lessons and skills, 37 around London/Hogwarts/Wild areas and 1 for completing the Bonus Level.

Collect and buy all 20 Red Bricks - located around the Hogwarts/London/Wild area.

Collect and Buy all 200 Characters - You find 3 on each level the rest you either get or find around the Hogwarts/London/Wild area.

Collect all 96 Hogwarts Crests - There are 4 on each level.

Save the 60 Students in Peril - 24 are in the game levels and 36 are dotted around Hogwarts/London/The Wild.

True Wizard on all 24 levels - pretty easy once you have the Red Brick multipliers.

Complete the Bonus level which is unlocked when you get True Wizard in all 24 levels.

WB changed their website URL scheme, and the old website for the missing item codes results in a 404 error. Here’s the new link:

https://legogamessupport.wbgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/36000...

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are missing more than one collectible, you will need to enter a code for each missing collectible. However, you must enter each cheat one after the other without exiting the shop, otherwise the process will not work and the codes that you have entered will become invalid.

After using the codes and reaching 100%, you will need to pass a save point by entering any Free Play level and selecting ‘‘Return to Leaky Cauldron’ -> ‘Save and Exit’. If you don’t save the game correctly, you may lose your progress and previous percentage completion.

Steps for how to use codes:

1. Load up LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7

2. Select Load Game

3. Select your saved game (This will needs to be 90% complete or more)

4. Go to the Diagon Alley shops and enter the Weasley Wizard Wheezes shop (the large Purple and Orange Joke shop)

5. On the ground floor, walk to the left to the Jack in the box code enter board

6. Enter the code for the missing collectible (if you are missing more than one collectible, be sure to enter each code one after the other. Do not leave the shop between entering codes or they will become invalid!)

7. After successfully entering the code or codes, press start to pause the game to check the percentage; it should now read 100%.

8. Leave the shop and go to the Leaky Cauldron

9. When in the Leaky Cauldron, stand on the level select pad, Select any level and select ‘Free Play’

10. When in the Free Play level, collect some studs and pause the game, select ‘Return to Leaky Cauldron’ and then select ‘Save and Exit’ from the pause menu

You should now arrive back in the Leaky Cauldron with the game at 100%! Well done!

In order to complete the game to 100%, you will need to:

  • Complete all 24 levels in Story Mode
  • Complete the Bonus Level
  • Achieve True Wizard in every level
  • Collect all 24 Hogward Crests (4 parts in every level)
  • Rescue all 60 Students In Peril (24 in Story Mode, 36 in Free roam).
  • Collect and purchase all 20 Red Bricks
  • Collect and purchase all 200 characters (72 of them are in Story mode)
  • Get all 200 gold bricks:
    • 24 for completing all 24 levels in Story Mode
    • 1 for completing the Bonus level
    • 24 for achieving True Wizard in every level
    • 24 for getting all 24 Hogwarts Crests
    • 60 for rescuing all 60 Students In Peril
    • 16 available for purchase in Borgin and Bukes
    • 14 for completing Lessons between levels in Story mode
    • 37 hidden throughout the hub

Don't hesitate to use Red Bricks to show markers that will indicate where the collectibles are; that makes finding them a lot easier. The only type of collectibles that don't have markers are the students in peril, but you can hear them cry when you're close to them.

All collectibles are pretty straight forward and easy to obtain, and there will be ghosts with some icons above them in each area which will indicate what collectibles you have. If the icons are transparent, it means you haven't collected them yet. The characters icon will tell you how many tokens you have in said area, and the student will smile if you have rescued him, though it can be difficult to see if the icon is smiling or not. The Red Brick icons may glitch if you've used cheat codes - they will remain transparent and the marker will still be there after collecting it. Don't worry about it, it doesn't void the trophy. If you're not sure if you've collected it or not, take a look at the owl in the area: if it's not there it means you already have the red brick.

You can use Xx_Progenitor_xX's collectibles guide HERE to help you find them all, or take a look at HappyThumbsGaming videos HERE. (This is a playlist of videos of every story mode/free play levels + free roam and other trophies).

Also, HERE is a map of Hogwarts that can be very useful for the free roam (credit to HappyThumbsGaming)

Note about potential glitches:

One or more of the collectibles may glitch while going for the 100%, notably the gold bricks. If you happen to miss one or more collectibles after completing everything, preventing you from completing the game to 100%, there are some codes that you can enter into the cheat code board in The Weasley Wizard Wheezes shop found in Diagon Alley. However, these codes can only be used if you have completed the game to at least 90%.

Follow these steps to know how to solve the problem (credit to the official WB forums):

If you are missing a collectible, entering one of the codes in this article may help.

These codes are to aid players that are unable to collect a collectible in the game, which is preventing them from reaching 100% competition.

The codes given below will only work on missing Gold Bricks, Character Tokens and Students in Peril.

The codes can only be used once you have reached 90% completion rate. Using the codes before this point will have no effect.

These codes will only work when entered into the cheat code board in The Weasley Wizard Wheezes shop found in Diagon Alley.

Well done!
