How to unlock the Times Square Off achievement in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes - Definitive Guide

- This is a walkthrough for Mission 2 - Times Square Off:

(This is a rather long mission, especially so early in the game, so be aware it takes some extra time.)

- Prologue:

- After Mission 1, you must skydive off the far side of the Shield Helicarrier from a gray platform, and land in the park below. Once on the ground, head to the gate and smash the streetlight. Build the destroyed pieces into a grate that Mr. Fantastic can squeeze through. On the other side, smash the blue satellite dish, then build the destroyed pieces into a transformation pad for Mr. Fantastic. Step on it and press (not hold) "B" to transform and open the gate to let Captain America out.

- Hit the shield switch on the side of the building with Captain America's shield to release a ladder, then switch to Mr. Fantastic and climb up. Glide over the gap and use the console on the wall to activate two lasers. Using Captain America, hold "B" to use your shield to deflect the beams into the circuitry above, opening the door.

- First Area:

- Destroy all the Octobots around where you start. Once you have done that, more Octobots will burst through the wall, leaving behind pieces to build a Fantastic 4 pad. Build it, then use Mr. Fantastic on it to transform into a giant screwdriver that removes the bars covering the Shield Switch. Activate the switch with Captain America, turning on the elevator to the second level.

- Going up to the second level will scare off Doc Ock, who wrecks the place and set it on fire on his way out. Equip Captain America's Shield and hold "B" to walk through the fire over to the left half of the area. Use the destroyed pieces Doc Ock created when he left to build a grate, and squeeze through and have Mr. Fantastic join Captain America. Once there, have Mr. Fantastic rip open the wall using the grapple point, leaving some pieces that can be built into a Shield Switch. Activate the switch, then use the computer terminal (up the ladder) to plug in the ray gun. Hop on the red button to turn it on.

- The ray gun will destroy some stuff on the other side of the area, leaving pieces to build a Captain America pad. Go back to the other side of the area (up the ladder and through the fires), build it and use it to direct the ray gun's laser at each of the two receptors on the wall. Once each of the receptors is full, the floor will open, revealing an elevator. Get in and use it to go to the next area.

- Second Area:

- Move to the right of the elevator and down the ladder. Use Mr. Fantastic to glide over the gap between roofs, then pull on the attachment point to rip open the wall and reveal some destroyed pieces, and use them to build a ladder. Climb the ladder and destroy the crates at the end of the hallway, leaving behind pieces for a push pad. Build and move the push pad, moving the satellite dish so that the acrobatic Captain America can use it to cross the gap between roofs.

- Once across the gap, activate the Shield Switch to allow Mr. Fantastic to use the grate to join you. Backtrack slightly, and destroy the air conditioning unit and surrounding pipes to reveal destroyed pieces, use them to build a Fantastic 4 pad. Use the pad to stretch Mr. Fantastic into a water pump, which raises the pressure in the water tower, causing it to collapse. Use the pieces it left behind to build a zip-line, then cross over to the next roof.

- Doc Ock is is waiting at the other end of the zip-line and will grab the first character who crosses. Use your secondary character to hit him and make him let go.

- Climb up the path of destruction, following Doc Ock and causing him to flee to another building. Use Captain America's shield to take out one support of the "HOTEL" sign, and then the other, creating a bridge which you can cross.

- On the right side of the lower roof of the hotel, use Captain America's shield to drop a ladder. As Captain America, walk through the fire (by equipping your shield), then wall-jump up to the upper roof. Destroy the air conditioning unit, then use the pieces to build a shield switch. Activate the shield switch to send the elevator down a floor. Switch to Mr. Fantastic and climb the ladder, then go left, and use the attachment point to go up a floor. Hop in the elevator and stand on the red button to join Captain America on the upper roof. Glide across the gap to the right, then build a zip-line so the Captain America can come across and join you.

- Use Mr. Fantastic to yank the bugle off the "DAILY BUGLE" sign, then build the broken pieces into a Fantastic 4 pad. Use the pad to stretch Mr. Fantastic into a crane with a wrecking ball, which will smash Doc Ock into a wall, triggering a cutscene.

- Third Area:

- Use Mr. Fantastic to yank over the dish tower, creating a bridge to the second roof. Use Spiderman's "spidey-sense" to reveal and climb up the pipes on the left, then yank the covers off the motor, turning on the fans below to get the other characters to follow you.

- Destroy the junk to the right of the fan motor and build the broken pieces into a computer terminal, which will open the gate to the roof garden when activated At the other end of the roof garden, stretch Mr. Fantastic into a rocket that will partially destroy the Spiderman billboard. Use the attachment points to yank it over the rest of the way. Cross the resulting bridge, then head through the hole in the building.

- Fourth Area:

- Boss Fight, Doc Ock:

- Doc Ock will stomp around after you on his robotic arms. If he grabs you, simply switch to your other character, attack him, and he will eventually release them.

- Eventually, he will get one of his arms stuck. Stand on the green icon beside the stuck arm and follow the button prompt to destroy his arm. Repeat this process on two more arms. Once weakened, punch him one final time to finish the level.

This is my own guide that I recently made for this achievement.

Even though this achievement is a no-brainer and is easily obtained just by completing Level 2 on Story Mode, I thought I might as well post the Free Play guide I created for Level 2 Times Square Off.

Watch the video below as I walk you through Level 2 Times Square Off and we collect every Minikit, the Stan Lee in Peril, and the True Believer!
