LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game

To get this achievement, you'll need to keep killing yourself to lose studs when you're near the end of the level, then finish it with 0.

Despite the description, you can do this in either Story or Freeplay (Freeplay will be quicker since you have more abilities available). It is highly recommended to turn off any stud multipliers before starting, so you don't spend years killing yourself.

Port Royal is Film 1 - Chapter 1. The end of the level is after using the barrels to walk on the ocean floor, you'll go up an elevator, go up, then swing a platform around to you. Jump on this platform, then jump to the rope, then finally jump to the rope to zip line down to the ship.

DO NOT touch the ship's wheel, as this ends the level. Instead, go back to where you were. You have 2 options for killing yourself - letting the guards kill you (note: they don't respawn in this area, so don't kill them if possible) or diving into the water and letting your breath (blue hearts) run out.

It's a bit tricky since you may accidentally pick up studs when you respawn, but just keep trying and eventually you'll get 0. Then make your way back to the wheel, careful to not pick up anymore.

THEICEMANCOMETH says: "A good place to let yourself die if you have studs is near the end once you've gotten up from the underwater cage. There is the ramp that leads up to the platform you use to get across to the ship. Just let the guards repeatedly kill you while you stand on the ramp, and the studs will roll left down the ramp so you don't have to worry about picking up any strays when you respawn."

The fastest way to get this achievement is to play the level in Free Play in co-op with a second controller. You should primarily use the second controller to run through the level, collecting or ignoring as many studs as you wish. Leave your primary account idle except for the second part where you need to have both players turn the cranks to escape the prison. In this area it is a good idea to have the guest pick up studs along the walkway so you don't accidentally collect them with the main account, but it doesn't matter too much. On the ship at the end, have the guest do the necessary tasks to reach the final wheel (don't turn it) that ends the level and then just sit there. At this point take control of your main account, go into the water and hold B until you drown. Depending on how careful you were you will only have to drown this account a couple times (I only had 140 studs at this point but you could easily have less). The guest player can have any number of studs collected and the achievement will still pop.

As best I can tell however you cannot get

at the same time because both accounts automatically collect 10 studs right when the level starts and to lose them you obviously would have to die.

As stated in most of the above solutions, this is easiest done with an extra controller, and as eeeeal says, the quickest way to get rid of studs is by just killing your primary account's character with the second (guest) character.

But the trick is getting to the end with as few studs as possible. This is imo best done by simply dropping your first character out at the start of the level (Press start -> select 'Drop Out'). This can only be done when the second character is active. After dropping out, simply race through the level with your second controller. After clearing the last platform, press start on your primary controller to drop back in, and kill the character once to get rid of the ~20 studs. After that, just complete the level with the second character/controller, and after the outro-movie, the achievement pops.

All of these solutions are forgetting one thing - you can kill your teammate and make them lose studs. Just smack the player you want the achievement on around and collect the studs they drop when they die until they run out, then spin the wheel on the ship to end the level.

Of course you'll want to turn off invincibility, as well as regen or extra hearts to make this possible and easier on yourself.

I got this by doing the following.

1).Free Roam.
2). Swim Across to the cage, when you've got the beach just before the ship.
3). Switch the cage so that it floats up.
4). Then Collect all the studs in the area and by the rope slide to the ship, and collect every thing a round there.
5). Then jumped back across from the ship to the dock and back into the water.

Swim next to the cage, then swim slightly away from, till i died.

You will then re spawn next to the cage, just repeat and rinse till you have zero studs and complete the level.

Try to pick up the smallest number of studs you can while going through Port Royal. If you end up with too many, use an enemy, trap or other method to kill yourself and reduce your balance. Once you get to the end of the mission, you'll reach a dock. After you go underwater and take an elevator while inside a barrel, you'll meet some enemies. Let them defeat you to lose more studs. If you die on a slope, studs fall away from you, preventing you from picking them up. It sometimes helps to wait until the studs around you flash and disappear before moving again. If you run out of enemies to fight, you can dive into the water. Once your four blue hearts run out, you'll die. Go up and away from the studs you left behind. To reduce the risk of picking up more studs, it helps to collect studs on your path to completing the chapter and get rid of them. After you've completely lost all of your studs, you should turn the wheel on the ship to set sail and complete Port Royal, unlocking this achievement.
