How to unlock the Veteran Performer achievement in LEGO Rock Band - Definitive Guide

Enter Tour mode to get to your Rock Den. Select the Tour (default option) and then select your vehicle. Tour mode is organized into Venues and Gigs. There are 2-3 Venues (locations) per vehicle and several Gigs (singles or sets of songs) in each venue.

To unlock this achievement you need to complete every gig in the game except the Rock Marathon and the Endless Setlist. Simply keep playing and buying new instruments like you normally would. Not all gigs are available in each Venue from the beginning so you'll have to revisit almost all of them later on to complete gigs that popped up after you left. Often when you complete a gig you'll get a popup asking you to play another one somewhere else. Accepting as many of these as possible will really cut down on the scavenger hunt you'll be going through later to find all the ones you've missed.

You can also speed things up by selecting short songs whenever you get to make your own setlist. Good choices would be Song 2 by Blur, A-Punk by Vampire Weekend, Charlene (I'm Right Behind You) by Steven and the Colberts (very short Free DLC song) and Thank You Boys by Jane's Addiction (160msp DLC, shortest song in the game).

If you hit a point where you've completed every gig available to you but there are still some you don't have access to, go to the beginning of the tour and select one of the one song Make A Setlist gigs. Keep playing Charlene over and over again, or Thank You Boys if you own it. The final gigs will unlock as you get closer to 200 gigs played. If for some reason you can't get DLC then you can play A-Punk by Vampire Weekend or Song 2 by Blur, which are both around two minutes long.

If you're lazy and don't want to play the gigs yourself, you could always play vocals on Super Easy and put the microphone up to a fan, the TV speakers, or anything else that makes noise constantly.

Video of the song Charlene (mentioned above):

My last gig became available after the 178th gig. I was replaying gigs with less than full stars and it popped when I went from 1821 total stars to 1823. But Camdon ZN proves that total stars is not the key. I would suggest keep playing gigs after you have played all open ones and play any new ones that become available.

The gigs are likely fan based so they probably unlock fastest on higher difficulties.

is this based on something you know, or just speculation?

It's based on my experience with RB1 + 2.

I just opened up another gig, after completing everything, with a random mystery setlist, on super easy, proving that simply playing random gigs that have been played will continue to unlock the new ones.

sorry, last one, but I actually left the mic by the tv on super easy vocals while I took a shower, and it usually five stars, sometimes four stars. You can use this on the marathon and endless setlist as well, though, technically since you cant fail, you dont even have to do that.

"The gigs are likely fan based so they probably unlock fastest on higher difficulties."

I got 1 billion fans (but the game caps it at 999,999,999) before I unlocked every gig so I'm not sure.

I've been looking around, but no one seems to actually know how in the world these gigs work...I guess "keep playing" is all I can say for now to people who can't find them all.

There is a tip in the loading screen that says something to the effect of replaying gigs to boost your fan base to unlock new gigs. But it clearly isn't based on fans alone though, playing certain gigs is required to unlock other gigs.

Another way to speed things up is to choose on disc songs and hit (Yellow note - Guitar/Bass; Foot Pedal - Drums; Right Bumper - Mic) to choose a shortened version of the songs.

I simply played ANY random set list, no matter how many stars or fans, and they unlocked automatically. Keep playing the short ones and it will come, i got mine after about 175 gigs played.

I just got the achievement...and I didn't even play all of the gigs! It basically unlocked for me once I hit 60,000,000 fans. Other than that, I kept playing Charlene/Song2/A-Punk over and over again for the make your own setlists and for my albums.

This achievement is glitchy. I unlocked this after I recorded my sixth album the greatest hits album, in the UFO venue. Unfortunately I already almost had most of the other gigs done. So I did't save much time.

Finally got this last night. I actually wound up completing everything available to me (159 gigs) and then repeatedly doing a one song build-a-setlist until I could get the last two, which unlocked at 175 and 185 gigs completed (IIRC). It looks like the only requirement for the achievement (based on other comments) is to record the 6th album (that was the last gig I unlocked).

I unlocked this I assuming after I completed all gigs that were not mystery setlist or make your own setlist. I completed a "special setlist" (one which has like a theme and you get a special story-type thing, like "It's the King's birthday so play him a concert") for my last before the achievement unlocked and checked through my lists and noticed that the 4 remaining, uncompleted gigs were all make your own and mystery setlists.

I just unlocked this achievement, too, without actually playing all the gigs. According to My Career, I've only unlocked 159/161 gigs, and played 156 of them. I've done the Rock Marathon setlist but not the Endless Setlist, and I have 481 million fans and 1470 stars. No idea why it would unlock prematurely like that.

For what it's worth, it unlocked after playing a 3 song mystery setlist immediately after playing the Rock Marathon. I also have more than the 2 unplayed gigs that the game suggests. It's weird.

I've done every available setlist (out of the 158/161 unlocked), and then some - 220 played and counting, and the last three sets just won't open. They appear to be my last two albums plus some other one. 600 million studs, 240 million fans. Getting this acheivement has become an obsession with me. I'm just goung to keep playing and hope I don't drive myself insane before I unlock the remaining sets.

You may have to complete the Rock Marathon and Endless Setlist to get this if it's not working for you. I had all the gigs completed before I played either setlist and it only gave me the achievement after I played the Endless Setlist.

I ended up doing every single gig, nothing was missed. Total 177 gigs, after the 2 mega gigs of 15 and 30 songs, my Vet performer popped. So the text on the achievement lied for me. I did try to play 2 gigs over cause I got 4 stars on one of them, and did the gig again on an easier difficulty to get the 5 stars on it. By the end of everything I had the maximum stars on everything.

I never had a problem with lack of gigs, if a location was missing stars (50/65) and nothing was available I just came back to it later when it gave me a gig. I went to each vehicle and found gigs as I went as they unlocked. I didn't have to play a gig over and over to get something to unlock. But according to the posts here it is kinda glitchy, so this is my experience with it.

I just got my achievement playing "Greatest Hits Launch Party" gig. After i completed every available gig, i played 3 random gigs on UFO than i got the invite. Some of my career stats:
143,001,434 studs
1,770 stars
91,470,685 fans
Total gigs played: 178
Gigs unlocked: 161/161
Time on tour: 16:19 (this can't be right, i'd say it took at least double that time)

Well, It's safe to say that I wont bother getting this achievement. Way too much hassle.
Studs: 478,482,657
Gigs played: 171
160/161 unlocked.
Only got 49/51 five starred though.
with a 12 hour play time... supposedly?
and to add to that. all 6 albums recorded and played. So I don't believe the albums unlock the gigs.

Okay, just to update that. I just five starred my 51st song, so I now have 51/51 on 5 stars and it unlocked my final gig :- "Greatest Hits Launch Party!". So potentially get five stars on every song? Which would explain why some people never even played every gig? Orr... maybe it works through %. Where every star or song played counts towards the overall percentage complete. And when it reaches the correct amount it unlocks? Who knows ^_^

You know how when new gigs pop up you sometimes have to meet a certain star requirement? If you miss it, could that affect the achievement? I'm replaying old gigs on which I didn't score well, and it seems to be unlocking new gigs for me.

I have no idea if this is accurate. Just a thought.

If it helps, I got it last night. I, too, was looking for gigs. What I did was I replayed the gigs that I hadn't done well on. For example, I had one where I had only gotten 7/15 stars. I replayed that gig and got 15/15, and it gave me one of those instant gigs, which I then did.

I did this for all of my lower-scoring gigs, and the achievement eventually popped. Also, I did have 161/161 gigs completed when I was finished.

By Bad Kermit on 19 Oct 2010 16:35
I agree with Bad Kermit. If the remaining gigs aren't unlocking, the best thing to do is to replay gigs that don't have that many stars. I was stuck with 3 remaining gigs, I played one song set over and over again and I got nothing. I then replayed a gig and got more stars on it and another gig unlocked for me.

This achievement really is a mystery. I had played all 159 unlocked gigs. There were four special gigs (intern, sound guys, an album promo, and a music video) in which I had fewer than the required stars to get the studs/fans. I replayed two of them to get the minimum stars, and gig 160 unlocked. I played that and the other two special gigs with too few stars. Nothing unlocked. I replayed a one-song choose-it-yourself gig (on which I'd already gotten 5 stars the first time), and the last gig unlocked.

I had 449 gigs played, but was missing 4 gigs out of 161 still. I used a turbo controller on a 1 song gig and that is how I got up to 449 gigs played, but that did not unlock any new gigs. I went back and replayed gigs where I did not get all the stars possible and it unlocked a greatest hits album and some other gigs.

I'm needing the "Pro Sound Engineer!" Gig, located in the Bone Cave (Hovercraft Vehicle).
I have 210 gigs played, 1 billion fans, 728,798,153 studs and 0 clues on how to unlock it.

I know I've played 15+ gigs trying to get the stupid setlist to unlock and have bought everything possible to buy.

I regret ever buying this game.

Just wanted to say I just unlocked it. Have had all the entourage for some time (got them all as soon as possible). Kept doing random gigs, mopping up missed stars, playing Charlene etc whenever possible, and using the vocals/mic in front of a fan method. When it unlocked I was at 451m studs, 88m fans, 1830 stars, and 198 gigs played.

Popped for me at 158/161, 209 gigs played. I just think whoever programmed the album / promo gigs fell asleep at the wheel and broke something, and somehow QA didn't find it. And then the achievement gets confused and pops inappropriately.

Currently going for this achievement.
To sum up the above comments:
Minimum gigs unlocked: 158/161
Minimum gigs played: 155
Minimum fans: 60,000,000
Minimum stars: 1470
Completing the albums seems important. Does anyone know how to unlock the albums, specifically the final one?

Finally got mine. Most were done on hard/expert guitar/bass. At the end I super easy fanned my way through. Did not unlock until 6th album popped, which for me was at the very end. Already had Endless Setlist and Rock Marathon completed too. when I ran out of gigs to play I started replaying gigs to perfect them.

I can say unequivocally that playing the 6th and final album (Greatest Hits) does NOT unlock the achievement. I'm stuck on 160/161 gigs unlocked, and I can tell that the final one that I can't access will be in the UFO venue (teleporter). I've played 185 gigs total and 5-starred them all. The only gig I haven't played yet is the Endless Setlist, which begs the question if playing that is a requirement to unlock the last gig.

Got it!!! My 190th gig was the "Greatest Hits Launch Party," where I could choose to play any of my albums. When finished, got the achievement. smile So that answers that question: playing the Endless Setlist is NOT required to unlock the final gig.

Sharing my stats for this!
Played majority of story on Expert guitar/bass
Swapped to Super Easy vox once I got bored of playing the songs over and over

Unlocked Greatest Hits Album gig at 180 gigs played by mopping up extra stars I had missed before, and repeating some single song gigs.
Unlocked Greatest Hits Launch Party at 191 gigs played. I was repeating a single song gig to try and trigger the last gig to unlock. Achievement popped directly after completing this final gig.

Just wanted to say that if you've almost completed all gigs but no new gigs are popping up, just go and replay any random gigs until you get a "Gig unlocked" screen. I had maxed out stars on all my gigs yet still had no new ones unlocked sometimes.

I think some are unlocked based on the total number of gigs you play. There are 161 different gigs in the game but I wasn't able to unlock the last one until I played my 199th gig.

I also got the achievement without having played all of the gigs, or even having them all unlocked. The "My Career" page claims 155 played and 159/161 unlocked... though even that seems a little bit inaccurate on the high side compared to a manual examination of my venues. No idea what glitchy combination of gigs I did play or other random events (e.g., quitting out of gigs in progress, accepting the "go to the new gig!" offer instead of manually browsing to it, etc.) caused this to happen, though. It took place at one billion fans and 1608 stars, which doesn't really seem to be of any importance or bearing on anything.

I've finally got this achievement. I had played 210 gigs. I still havn't unlocked them all (160/161). 420 million studs. 138 million fans. 1741 stars.

I dont think we will ever understand how to unlock gigs - its too glitchy!

By drabik on 28 Jan 2010 16:11
I played well over 200 gigs with 159/161 unlocked, and nothing would unlock. Then I went a double checked each venue and found I had missed a gig. I did that then did more gigs. After 10 the next one unlocked, then after 10 more the last one unlocked.

So I don't think it's the total number of gigs that's the trigger but the number you play after the last one you unlocked. So double check you haven't missed one like me.

Just played my 160/161 gig and had a gig missing on the Submarine. Played the Coral Riff and played the Music Video gig three times (Charlene) and then went to the Private Jet's Brickingham Castle. Played a custom setlist of two songs (Charlene, Song 2) that had only 9/10 stars. Super Easy vox'd it and got the 10/10 and it took me to the last gig. Most gigs were spent doing Super Easy vox, some on Expert guitar and a very small handful with two players.

204 million total studs
110 million fans

I too unlocked it just now
Gigs unlocked: 159/161
Gigs played: 163 (not really sure had I got over the max amount, as I still have some unlocked gigs I never played. And I don’t remember replaying any same gig. Although I did quit a few, so maybe those quit gigs counted, but I’m not sure)
Stars: 1718(under 5 star some of my dlc because the lego chart is awful)
Fans: 999,999,999(had this for a while, after each song it literally would got over 1 billion but set back to 999,999,999.
Only played on Expert(guitar, bass, drums), it’s a very easy(boring)game. I wish dlc was more frequently. The only ‘disc’ songs I had to put real effort into was Aliens Exists, Short And Sweet and perhaps Fire, all 3 on drums, and I still 5 Stared them.

All of the solutions previously posted are very good. There are a few things I'd like to add.

If you are cooperatively playing this game, and don't require playing sets over and over in order to gain stars or money, you will not have played enough gigs to unlock the last couple of sets. I had 159/161 gigs unlocked and had played 175 gigs. I kept playing a one song setlist over and over until I hit 179 played gigs. That unlocked one of the missing sets. After playing that, I returned to the one song setlist (pick anything it doesn't matter) and kept playing it repeatedly until the final setlist unlocked when I had played a total of 180 gigs.

If you aren't sure how many setlists you have unlocked or how many gigs you have played, go into the office and check your stats.

Also, if you pick a one song set (not one that you choose) then pick the "short song option". It helps move this task along more quickly.

This game is pretty grindy, but not impossible. =)

Was about 210 for me. I was at 205, and then did a few more before that last gig finally came up.

I wonder if difficulty makes a difference, as I did a ton of gigs on very easy using the mic + fan trick.

I don't think difficulty matters as I am just over 200 gigs with 2 still left to unlock and I have played all on hard.

This achievement is a lot simpler than it looks. You can get it the honest way, by playing through all the songs and completing all the gigs. But that can be time consuming.

If you don't wanna pay attention to the game so long, you can go into story mode on vocals, select your gig, and choose the Very Easy difficulty. Then all you need to do is set your microphone in front of a fan, and sit back for a few minutes and do something else until the song or setlist has been played through. Then just end the gig, select a new one, rinse and repeat until you've played through all the gigs.

You won't be able to play every gig in a venue right away. As you play more gigs in other venues along the way, more will unlock, which you will then have to go back to and complete. If you don't unlock gigs in venues where you don't have all the stars, have patience, and just keep checking through the venues for unplayed gigs and play them, and you'll eventually unlock the ones you're missing.

When you have to play a Build a Setlist gig, you can speed it up by selecting from A-Punk by Vampire Weekend, Song 2 by Blur, or Charlene (I'm Right Behind You) by Stephen and the Colberts, which is a free download, because they're shortest songs you don't have to pay extra money for.

Just a very quick addition to the great advice already posted:

This is for people who prefer to play as a band:

If you have started the career in a multiplayer band, you do not need to be available for every gig to get this achievement. This means that 4 people can share the chore of completing all 200ish gigs and all get the achievement.

1) Start a band with 4 members signed in
2) Play as many gigs as you can be bothered with
3) Repeat (2) with whatever combination of original members you feel like (the band owner needs to be there) - anything from 1 person signed in to all 4
4) When you reach the last gig, make sure that all 4 original members are signed in and complete the gig
5) Everyone gets the achievement! And anyone who's AFK'd the majority of the setlists buys the rest of the band a pint.

This was how my band did it. We weren't certain it would work, but at least one band member really hates LRB and gave up very early on... For at least 50% of the setlists there was less than a full compliment of band members. No pics, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen!

If you use the super easy vocals method, here are some great short songs to play to speed things up when making a setlist:

Lego Rock band:
Song 2
A-Punk
Crash
Grace
We Will Rock You

DLC:
Thank You Boys
Charlene
A Day Like This
Fortunate Son
Crackity Jones
Tame
There Goes My Gun
Mr. Grieves

Green Day Rock band export:
Coming Clean
Emenius Sleepus
Good Riddance

Of course this will cost you some Microsoft points but if you want to get this achievement the fast way then you might as well spend them.

If there any other songs that should be mentioned please comment and tell me so I can add it to the guide!

Good Luck!

I just got this and after spending hours just playing a one song set I decided to go through and look at what set I was missing and it was the Album Promo in The Abyss(You can check the story walkthrough for lists of sets per venue) so then I went and found one of those special sets that pop up and replayed it(it was the greatest hits album set) and I hit the required stars, after this the Album Promo set popped, completed it with full stars and got the achievement. I think some sets have a sets played requirement but if you are missing one or two just check those special sets and make sure you get the stars for the challenge

This requires you to complete every gig on world tour. This should come if you are going for Super Stars. Just go back to all the areas and play every gig. NOTE: You will probably get 1000 stars before completing every gig.

There are 161 gigs to play. Most of the time it is 3 single songs, one make a setlist, and one mystery setlist. Sometimes special ones show up. Just play all of the gigs for the achievement. Below is a gig list made by SengIV.
