How to unlock the Hardly burglar material achievement in LEGO The Hobbit - Definitive Guide

All you need to do for this achievement is to collect 99 pieces of the same loot throughout the game. I believe it has to be 99 of a single loot type, not 99 of all lots combined.

The most abundant loot I see if likely boards of wood. Destroying almost any item made of wood will release between 2 and 4 boards of wood loot, which will have little white stars glowing on them.

Collect 99 of these wood pieces without spending any, and the achievement will be yours. You can do this by walking around the village after the first mission, easily.

Me and my girlfriend has collected 115 loot items and the achievement hasn't poped yet. Bug maybe?

If they weren't all of the same type, try getting at least 99 of a single item type. Beyond that, resetting your Xbox and waiting is probably your best bet. Good luck!

These material objects are laying on the ground when you smash items throughout levels and Middle-earth. 

You have to collect 99 of loot. This should come naturally just playing the game and you'll probably get it without even trying. Just smash everything you see in sight during story mode and if you don't have it yet, play Free Play and smash around in the levels. Wood material is the easiest to obtain. You can do this right away walking around Hobbiton after the first level.

This achievement requires that you need to collect 99 cumulative amount of any material item listed:

  • Iron
  • Copper
  • Stone
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Ruby
  • Sapphire
  • Emerald
  • Diamond
  • Wood
  • Leather
  • Rope
  • Carrot
  • Bread
  • Meat
  • Fish
  • Mithril Brick
