How to unlock the Superhero of the Year achievement in LEGO The Incredibles - Definitive Guide
This achievement can be tracked by pressing the select button and pressing RB until you get to the icon with the handcuffs.
You must complete 10 crime waves across the city for this achievement to pop. Each crime wave unlocks the icons on the map for you to find even more rewards.
Crime waves are pretty straight forward too. They range from 2 to 3 quests to help hit a bad guy or two, all while giving a little nod to the villains featured in the movies.
One thing to note: I had a major issue with this achievement but luckly its fixable. The game currently has a bug with rest mode and resuming the game without a complete restart. The game thinks you've signed out as stops posting progress for the unlocks. So try not to finish the requirements of this achievement without a fresh power on of the game.
To fix the above mentioned issue, just redo the last crime wave by going to the jail letting out whoever you fought last (I dont wanna spoil it)

I didn't get the achievement, despite loading the game just after playing another game, so I'm replaying the Syndrome crime wave.
Edit: Didn't work...
Edit 2: Achievement popped upon hard reset and loading my save file.

Each district of the world map will take turns turning red, indicating a crime wave in that region. You will have to do two or three missions in each district, solving crime – either beating up bad guys, or rescuing citizens, or other miscellaneous tasks – to clear the district of its crime wave. Once you've cleared a district, the next will activate. Every few districts, you will have a boss battle. Once a district is cleared of its crime wave, it will stay cleared (unless you reset it; see Someone's Always in Trouble).
Some of the missions you need to do for this trophy will count towards The Supers Have Returned!.
After or during the story you can go into your map by then looking for red flashing district. Head towards it and complete the crime waves. Each district has a set of 2-3 crime waves and may have a boss battle.
