Definitely the fastest way to get the achievement done. Might be worth pointing out that the achievement may not pop straight away. I had to hit around 10,300,000,000 before it unlocked for me.

I'd also like to suggest that I great way is also the beginning of the battle for pelennor fields, it starts with a chase section and (providing its already done) when that's over and you control the character again a quick circle of the room gets 3 purple pieces and a few blues. The whole thing takes about a minute to do, quit when it's done and the level is right above you on the world map so it's easy to find. It's as quick as this method and cause it has less loading it cuts out the chances of game freezing!

Great guide, weird that theres negative votes, i tackled this last after I'd 100% the game, by that time i had about 8.5 billion studs, so using your guide it took mere minutes. Thank you for a quick finish.

This solution worked the fastest for me versus all the little methods I came up with myself. Also someone saying it didn't unlock until 10.3 billion, for me it unlocked at 10.019 billion - just a heads up it's not definitely buggy for all, probably depends on your specific game. Thanks again for the solution!

about Bree:
there are at least 2 more purple studs you might want to collect.
6) in front of the Prancing Pony, you shoot 3 targets to make some bars so that Legolas can jump to a purple stud (you'll be using Legolas already due 5)
7) on the left side of the Prancing Pony is a way up to the roof (again, as Legolas) and then you can make your way to another purple stud. This goes faster if you know how to speed up the process of jumping instead walking on the roof.
8b) BONUS: there are several spots along the way from point to point were with just a few jumps you can some extra blue studs, not to forget.

At the beginning of playing this game I concentrated on getting the red bricks for the 2x, 4x,6x, 8x, and 10x multipliers. The solution above was helpful to increase my score quickly. However, by the time I finished the game for the 100% achievement, my stud score was over 22 billion. About 5 billion studs (after multipliers) must have come from completing. So what I'm saying is that there is really no benefit in working on collecting studs just for the sake of this achievement. You will likely get this achievement by just playing through, collecting all the other items and always using all the multipliers and grabbing the easy studs along the way.

I found the Battle of Pelennor Fields (Free Play) to be the easiest way to get studs.

1) Turn on all the multipliers (of course) and the Attract Studs brick.
2) Start Battle of Pelennor Fields.
3) Set down controller - your character will ride through the first part automatically.
4) Pick up controller when Fell Beast attacks and pick up the three purple studs and their neighbors.
5) Save and quit, 235,000,000 studs richer in under two minutes.

Note: You can make 275,000,000 studs if you manually control the rider in the first part and grab a purple stud that is hidden in a bush just before the ramp - probably 2/3 to 3/4 of the way through the ride.

For me, this solution was by far the least monotonous and boring. I controlled the rider and hit as many things as i could including the 3 crates that you need to hit for the minikit, and i got more than 285 million per run consistently. As soon as i respawned I hit the fountain, then rinse and repeat. In about 2 minutes I was getting over 300 million.

To help get to 10 billion faster, you need to look to buy Stud Multipliers. There are 5 (2x, 4x, 6x, 8x & 10x) like all LEGO games. Applying them all together will create an even greater multiplier: 3840x.

•2x - Use the code 1F5YH2
•4x - in Amon Hen (first quest to the left of map statue); Craft Item needed is the Mithril Fishing Rod. The Red Brick costs 1,000,000.
•6x - located in Edoras (below the statue from map view); Craft Item needed is the Mithril Top Hat (located in The Battle of Pelennor Fields; after fight with The Witch King, blow up one of the Mithril LEGO Pieces); Red Brick costs 4,000,000.
•8x - located in Helm's Deep (to the left of the map stone from map view); Craft item needed is the Mithril Shield (located in The Path of the Dead; to left of final area before fight); Red Brick costs 8,000,000.
•10x - located in Cirith Ungol (to the left near two Mithril pieces); Craft Item needed is the Mithril Squeak Sword. The Red Brick costs 10,000,000.

Something else that could probably help is the Attract Studs extra - C7FJ7B.

TIP: A way to get to 10 billion faster is to try to avoid buying characters and other red bricks beside the multipliers until you reach 10 billion. Also, try to work your way to getting the 10x first so that after you spend the 10,000,000, you can regain the studs quicker since you'll have the biggest individual multiplier.

---
Thanks to SiebeTolsma for pointing out:

There seems to be a bug with this achievement that WB has even addressed: "Sometimes, the Achievement for collecting 10 billion studs (Delved too Greedily...) doesn't unlock once 10 billion studs are collected. If this occurs, you may need to collect 100 million more studs (10,100,000,000)."

In a way that makes sense since technically the achievement says to "collect more than 10,000,000,000", but that should just mean 10,000,000,001.

He also suggested that a good place to collect studs is in Minas Tirith right when you load up the game. Smash the tree in the center that will give you a whole mess of studs. Once you've collect all its studs, fast travel to the night version of the area and repeat this process.

FWIW I can vouch for the workaround. It didn't unlock at 10B studs for me, but gathering an additional 100 million made the achievement pop.

Replying to myself, again... The best boosting place I've found is where you get dropped when you load up a game. With all of the multipliers you get at about 38 million when you hit the tree in the center (it drops a purple stud plus a ton of silver ones). Then go the map, and switch to the night version. Hit the tree again. Switch to day version, etc. etc. rinse repeat.

Wanted to help you with 6x and 8x but it looks like you found them. 8x - second last area, wide open room with little statue on the right, Mithril Shield Design is up high on the left after smashing something. Jump along the wall with an elf.

2x is in Rivendale. You'll need the Mithril Gloves from Warg Attack (on the cliff end to the right, you need to explode some metal rock, dig with sam, climb down a rope and shoot a few arrows to clear a path the the design)

If you do the math you should buy the lowest multiplier first and then work your way up. If you had the 10 million studs to buy the x10 multiplier you could instead buy the x4 and the x6 for half the cost and have a x24 multiplyer and 5 million left to spend on the next one.

Thanks for the info on the buggy achievement. I hit 10,040,xxx,xxx and no achievement. It was nice to know I only had to have 10,100,000,000 for it to unlock. And once I passed that, the achievement unlocked.

10,000,000,000 is ten thousand million. 10,000,000,000,000 is ten billion. The more you know.

I think the solution author is referring to the map stone, not the tower itself. Since the Cirith Ungol map stone is the nearest map stone to the x10 red brick location. Also, Cirith Ungol IS in Mordor.

Might want to point out that this achievement is slightly buggy. Sometimes it doesn't unlock until you get 10,100,000,000 studs (i.e. you need 100 million additional studs). The issue is also detailed on WB's support site: http://support.wbgames.com/link/portal/24022/24028/Article/1...

EDIT: This method freezes for a majority of players. Even though the solution freezes the game for most I will leave it up to see if anyone tests in different ways and CAN get it to work for them. It would really simplify the achievement if we can get this to work for everyone!

By far the easiest solution to this achievement is on the level Helms Deep. This method will give you about 100 Million studs every minute. You will need the level Helms Deep, All Multiplier Bricks (x2 x4 x6 x8 x10) as well as the Mithril Fireworks (Berserker works as well) and the Attract Studs Brick.

Once the level starts blow open the mithril grate under the wall, then simply walk through the hole without letting go of the thumbstick. This will result in you continuously walking back into the hole and collecting the blue and two gold studs that spawn next to the hole. They will continue to respawn so long as you keep reentering the hole in the wall. Put a rubber band on your controller, sit back, and watch the studs collect.

NOTE: Some people have reported that this method causes the game to freeze if you save and exit the level. Not sure how this applies to actually finishing the level instead of save and exiting. I will edit again if someone can confirm finishing the level causes it not to freeze. Also, installing the disc may prevent the freezing. Otherwise still seems to be the fastest way to get the achievement, if you aren't one of those who has the game freeze up on you.

Hi guys, just thought i'd share how I did it, Took literally 15 minutes.

Try to leave the 1st available minikit chest of 4 levels available, then after you have obtained all the multiplier bricks simply start the level, collect the kit and exit, roughly 3billion for completing the minikit.

The levels I used were The Black Rider, Prologue, Taming Gollum & Weathertop as you can get a minikit chest straight away.

:)

Before going for this achievement I suggest you complete the game to 100%. Activate the multipliers as soon as you get them in middle earth.

If you don't have this achievement before completing the game then travel to Hobbiton and use this video that shows you how to collect 6 purple studs and a few blue studs very quickly. You must get 10.1 Billion studs.

05 Dec 2012 00:50

The best way i have found is right next to the map stone: The Pass of Carhadras.
To the west of this, between two mithril blocks on the map is two rudders you can use to play a minigame where you control a small ship and blow up wawes of other ships. They each drop a few studs while you destroy them and when all three waves are destroyed the minigame ends and you get a ton of gold studs and a few blue studs every time.

Combined with alle the multipliers and the attract studs this should collect you a ton of studs in about thirthy seconds!

And you can play the minigame as manytimes as you want.

The first time you play it you will also get a Mithril Block.

16 Feb 2013 23:31

It is also a good going methode in Hobbiton.
First you turn on all Stud multipliers and the attract bricks extra.

At Day:
When you start at the Statue go north to Frodos House. You can earn a Blue Stud at his door. Go to the left Hill and you can dig with Sam for a purble Stud.
Further north, collects 3 blue and one purble Stud.

Go now to the festival. There are some blue studs in the tents. Go to the Hill in the East and you will see a little cave that can be opened with gimli. By attracting the Studs you can simply pass close to get the purble Stud.

On the creek are still some Studs for you, cross it and go straight to the shooting range. Shoot the targets with Legolas and you get another purble stud. Next to the left can with Sam a flower grow and you grab 2 blue and 2 purple stud.

Leaves the village to the north and you can see right a way. Shoot with Legolas on the 2 objectives so that you approach comes the floating Studs. Then you see also a Treasure Chest that can be opened with Aragon(as King). Do this and you get another purble Stud.

You can also make a race with the pig and win many blue and a purple stud. The race you can reach over the rope on the big hill at the beginning of the village.

Hobbiton at Night:
Here you can get a 2 additional purple Studs

Goes back to the festival and ignite on with Sam the fireworks and when you go towards the treasure chest outside the Village you can also with Sam ignite the bonfire.

And collects the other purple studs, as described earlier.

I hope i could help. Have Fun with the Game. smile

My solution: 10 purple studs a minute

1. Activate all stud multipliers and the attract studs
2. Set a second controller on.
3. Put the first controller character on the purple stud behind the fence right behind the teleport statue in Bree and let it there. You don't have to touch this controller anymore.
4. With the second controller just break the stone pillar in front of the teleport statue of Minas Tirith for the purple stud. Then teleport again in Minas Tirith changing from day to night, to reset the purple stud.

You get 2 purple studs everytime, just by moving the second controller character and destroying the stone pillar. It take around 10 second everytime, because of the loading everytime you change from day to night. Maybe if you install the game, it will load a little faster, my game was not installed.
If you can find a place for the 1st controller to stand where there is more then 1 purple stud, go for it! I couldn't think of any, but I am pretty sure there is.

The easiest way would be like this:

You only finish the levels in free play that have Mithril items that unlock the multipliers. DON'T go for the collectables yet! The reason for this is that clearing an objective (collectables) or chests gets you a ton of purple studs. I missed some items on Mount Doom. I got about 3 billion studs in one play!

I found a combination of most peoples tricks in a ROTATION worked out faster.

Having finished the game and unlocking the multipliers, my rotation was:

1: Go to Bree; gather 7 purple studs (one on the rooftops if you have the mithril brick) and gather the obvious and easy blue studs along the way. Suggest being Legolas as his jump means you don't actually have to attach to the wall mounts to pick up the blues.

2: Go to mission The Battle of Pelennor Fields; do the opening horse fight (be sure to get the minikit blue stud from 3 smashed crates and the purple stud near the end.) then skip cutscene and run around the boss area gathering at least the 3 purples and 2 blues however, the studs form a obvious circle so I run the whole circle. (Having got this you should have gathered about 300Million from that mission so save and quit.)

3: Having completed the game you spawn in Minas Tirith. Change to Legolas and grab the 4 obvious blues on the face of the building and then travel to Bree again.

This whole rotation takes about 5-7minutes with the load times and is really very short. Each time you get between 450mill and 600mill studs so it's great and fast.

Why I do the rotation:
Just farming Bree is great, however if you just swap from day to night only 6 of the purple studs spawn back. One stays de-spawned. Also the blue studs don't come back any although they seem small, since there are about 7 that you can grab easily that's another loss of 26.88mill.

Just farming The Battle of Pelennor Fields works very well and if you're fine with wanting to do the same mission section over and over that's fine. But the reason I travel to Bree is that, you have to save and exit anyway, why not add like 2 minutes and grab 200mill before you hop back into the mission again. I just found farming the mission to be boring and having to move around Bree just added a tiny bit of variation for me.

Finally, there is pretty much a set step of movements at the beginning of the mission to follow to come out with the most amount of studs. It's not hard to find this, I knew the process after my 3rd attempt however I really enjoyed finding the fastest way to harvest Bree. Because it's open world you can go any way first (do I do the archery first? or the crawl space above the prancing pony?). I enjoyed that variety that Bree gave. But again that's not for everyone. However this rotation method is faster than just farming Bree because it resets Bree fully with all it's purples and blues. It may not be faster than just farming the mission, however if you are have not got the knack of maximising the amount of studs you get during the horse ride, Bree could be a good option for you to pick up the slack between runs.

Thanks for everyone's tactics, I enjoyed putting them together to get a fun experience out of something mundane. If you wonder why I didn't just do some missions; I would've had to do about7 or 8 missions to finish the achievement for me. Each mission being 15-20mins (because I haven't played them enough to know how to speed run), whereas this way with the rotation I went form about 4.5bill to 10.1bill in 35minutes.

Finally; you do get quicker at the rotation, I got one done in 4 minutes at peak speed.
Not sure if anyone has done this before me as I haven't read all of the comments, but if anyone is still playing this game in 2017 and wants to know more about this rotation and what the fastest way to do it is, please message me and I can break it down further.

Happy Hunting!

I found that the best method for earning this trophy is by doing the level "The Battle of Pelennor Fields". If you have all 5 multipliers (x 3,840) and the Attract Studs Red Bricks active you can get anywhere from 290 million to 300 million studs every 2-3 minutes. I also use Legolas for his bow so I can shoot some of the objects that I might miss. There are 4 purple studs in free play in this level that you can collect. The first being during the on rails part of the mission, you'll find it in a bush about 2/3 of the way through the level and the other 3 will be during the boss fight right after the last section around the area. After you get all of these studs Save and Quit and you will have as much as 300 million per play-through.

18 Aug 2013 06:56

As mentioned, once you have all five of the multipliers building up to 10 billion studs should go fairly easily and quickly while you finish off other achievements.

However, one caveat/bug, to be aware of. If you complete the bonus level (where you get to destroy everything in LEGO Land as Sauron) for the following achievement:
LEGO The Lord of the RingsThe Lord of the Ring. The The Lord of the Ring. achievement in LEGO The Lord of the Rings worth 17 pointsComplete the Bonus Level.

in this particular LEGO game it will count the 1 million studs you get in that level as part of your total, but does NOT count them toward earning the achievement. Thus, every time you do the bonus level you have to collect a million more than you think to get this achievement. For example, if you complete the bonus level one time prior to unlocking this achievement, this achievement will not unlock until you reach 10,001,000,000 studs rather than the 10,000,000,000 the name implies.

I found that none of the guides were specific enough on how to be most efficient when collecting studs. Here's my tips and tricks..

1) Get the multipliers ASAP. I got them all after working through the story, then around half the free play levels.

2) Finish all the free play levels, collecting all the mini kits, treasure and designs. The final level, when you collect all the mini kits, will give you purple studs. I had around 3.5 billion studs when I did this and the final level boosted me to 8.5 million (approx)

3) Have the attract studs brick turned on whilst you collect the middle earth collectables. There are lots of studs in middle earth, so chances are you'll collect enough whilst collecting the mithril bricks.

Comment any questions/tips and hope it helps!

This achievement can take awhile to get I recommend finding and buying all multiplier red bricks (2x,4x,6x,8x,10x) giving you a 3840x multiplier.

Once this is done just play through the game as normal and the achievement will pop on its own.

This will likely be the final trophy you will need. It takes some grinding, but luckily it does not take too long if you had all the multipliers activated during the majority of your Free Play run.

The quickest way that I found to collect 10 billion studs was to fast travel to Bree. Once you’re at the Map Stone, grab the purple stud immediately behind you and then head up the road to the right, at the end of which you should turn the crank to light the fire, which will create another purple stud. Then head to the entrance of the Prancing Pony, where there will be another purple stud in the doorway. Finally, use a small character to crawl through the hatch to get on to the balcony above the entrance to the inn, where another purple stud awaits you. Then, fast travel from the balcony back the Map Stone, but make sure that it is the opposite time of day from what you are in, as if you travelled from daytime to daytime or night-time to night-time the studs will not reset.

It is possible to get two more purple studs from lighting the four torches with Sam or completing the shooting gallery with Legolas, but this takes a bit of time and is quite fiddly, whereas with my method and a x3840 multiplier you will get 153,600,000 studs in 30 seconds.

Note that only studs collected by Player 1 count if you are playing in co-op, and that the trophy seems to only unlock after you have collected 10,100,000,000 studs, so do not panic if it doesn’t unlock straight away.

0
0

This may look impossible, but you can find and purchase Red Brick extras that will multiply the amount of studs you earn. With all multipliers, you will be earning x3840 the amount of studs, and this will unlock after playing through a handful of levels.
