How to unlock the Designer's Delight achievement in LEGO Worlds - Definitive Guide

For this achievement you need to unlock everything in the first 4 tabs of the Build Tool.

Step 1: As you play through the game going for other achievements, chase after every Troublemaker (the green monster guys who appear and run away holding an item) to collect the pieces they hold. Also make sure to check the Night Trader (blue hot air balloon icon on your minimap, shows up at night) and you can buy pieces there, they will always be the top right item if available.

Eventually the Troublemakers and Night Trader will no longer give brick pieces. Now you have to farm chests. They can give brick elements, large Discovery builds, or random items, so you'll just have to keep opening them until they spit out the remaining brick pieces you need.

Step 2: The best method I found for this was to make a custom world (unlocked at 100 gold bricks): small size, Dusty Dunes biome. Keep creating them until you get one that has a lot of land, not much water. You're gonna use the build tool, switch to Flatten mode and maximize the size, to dig around for chests.

You will see treasure chest icons on the minimap as you move around. Use the build tool to flatten downwards until you find chests. Don't bother to climb back out or use a vehicle to get out. Simply move the cursor around in Build Tool mode and the game will move your minifig around as you go. In Dusty Dunes every Sphinx will have chest in the back end, a good amount of pyramids will have them, and you can find them in underground caverns which you can see on the minimap as well. So aim for those 3 areas primarily and you can easily get 10-20 chests on a small world. When you've found everything, go back to the galaxy map and repeat this step!

It will take a lot of chest opening to get this achievement but just keep at it toast

You have to farm a LOT of chests. They will give duplicates most of the time.

By the way. Opening chests is a terrible way to do this. I just made a huge square sunk in the ground and stood my guy in the middle of it, then played around on my phone or computer until the troublemakers or the night merchant showed up.

Troublemakers and the night merchant will eventually stop giving new pieces, as I mentioned in the solution.

I think it may depend on the order you do it. I didn’t do much with the merchants and troublemakers while I went through the rest of the game. When I started working on this I used the method of opening chests and it worked ok but took a long time. Eventually chests gave nothing but useless weapons and other items. I switched to idling in a giant pit and got pieces every 3 to 5 minutes until I finished so I didn’t have an issue with them running out.

Right, so either way you have to open a bunch of chests. If you hadn't done that, the troublemakers would've run out.

Finally got this achievement. The rest of my pieces were mainly from Troublemakers and the odd one from the Night Trader.

Seems like the same situation as @napoearth. I must've opened a bunch of chests while playing the game and exhausted those pieces.

I also ended up making a big pit, and idling for a couple minutes until Troublemakers would spawn. If they stopped spawning, then I went to another random world and did the same.

Have they changed the way this works? Cause I’ve opened hundreds of chests and got nearly every other achievement but NEVER had a single brick piece from a chest, and now troublemakers and the night trader have stopped spawning completely

Folks, this was by far the biggest PIA to get.

I found that after a certain period, I'd get no pieces at all from over 100 chests and many worlds.

Only when I booted the game up the next day or two after, would it start giving me brick elements from chests. Maybe 1 or 2 every 20-30 chests
(Had exhausted Troublemakers and Night Trader)

It's as if there is a limit on how many pieces you are given in a single day/24 Hr period.

My Advice:
Try leaving the game a day or two and then try again.

While working on the Monsters DLC a guide for an unrelated achievement sent me to 118-127-316, letter G. There was a decent amount of chests that were dropping bricks consistently- about 20% of the time if I had to guess. Mostly in the forest area and weird woods. I'm not sure if you need the DLC to be able to use those coordinates. I hope it helps.

Got this achievement by just sitting somewhere in a flattened area that I made. I just sat there waiting for the trouble makers/The night shop to come by. Also, if you don’t have all of the goldbrick achievements this is a pretty good way as well cause some trouble makers were carrying gold bricks for me.

I created the largest world with having the desert biome; went around with the landscape tool removing chunks out of the pyramids and the back of the Sphinxes, after the Trader and Troublemakers carried items, when you get down to one brick it does get annoying

Cleetus's comment was found to be inaccurate and anecdotal. I am around 80% done and tried that seed for fun (available to non DLC) and it did not yield any different results compared to farming dunes at 80%. The feed from chests has slowed to a crawl. I should also note that when "creating" your own world, the Troublemakers and Night Vendor will not spawn, you must go to a random world or Locate world.

Anyone else experience a fortuitous glitch where they were able to open the same chest 50+ times in a row? Just happened to me last night. Probably saved me hours of running through different worlds. - I created a custom huge dessert-bio world and it happened to me after opening around 25 other chests. Wish I could get it to do that again. Almost every time I opened it there was a piece I needed or a brick set.

I'm stuck at a point where I never see the vendor or the troublemakers and chests only give me weapons and other inventory items. Does anybody have any ideas?

I was getting one out of eight to ten chests, but I have gotten nothing but inventory items in the last two or three worlds I’ve created and two or three other worlds I’ve gone back to. I haven’t seen a brick piece in at least a hundred chests.

This achievement is so incredibly tedious. In the past hour, I've opened 45 chests (at one point the game glitched and I could just open the same chest over and over) on planet X42Y42Z42 | X, and the only thing I got were items.

In that time, two green troublemakers spawned with brick pieces, and the Night Trader showed up three times; however, he had a brick on one occasion.

The drop rates are so ridiculously slow, especially considering I still need to find 47 more bricks at the moment.

Apologies for the rant, and also thanks for the tips. Just sharing my experience in case others come across this guide and are wondering why it's taking so long / if they are doing something wrong.

THE TROUBLE MAKER AND NIGHT TRADER WILL ALWAYS GIVE BRICK PIECES. This guide here made me spend multiple extra hours from one piece of bad advice. If the trouble makers and traders stop giving brick pieces, delete all worlds except for the tutorial worlds wait for traders and trouble makers till you have them all. The unclaimed chests in your past worlds will prevent them from spawning new bricks.

Having just unlocked this today (13th March 22) I have a few pointers that might make this less of a slog than it can be. This is what I did

1. Complete rest of game (apart from this and Billionaire)
2. Delete all worlds apart from tutorial worlds
3. Go to Winter Wonderland. Open all the chests (got nothing but at least I know there is nothing in them I'm waiting for)
4. Turn off music
5. Wait for Troublemaker or Night Trader (every 4-5 mins). Might get a gold brick, but only until 120 bricks collected (that appears to be the max)
6. Get a good book or watch TV

Repeat step 5 until you get achievement

Last 60 pieces took me about 5 hours and no work

This is the way to go. The night trader would only have a new piece to sell about once every 5 or 6 visits but the troublemakers were like clockwork and always had new pieces.

I'm not sure how I managed it but I did the 'billionaire' achievement, then deleted all my world's and loaded into winter wonderland and I kid you not there was about 30 trouble makers (50/50 - gold brick and Lego pieces) + around 5 air balloon traders... So that gave me a good start.

My advice is to leave this achievement until very last. Great guide btw! Thumbs up from me

Does this achievement auto pop if you join someone online who already has it? If so I'd greatly appreciate 5 minutes of someone's time who has recently unlocked this. I'm currently grinding away but still have 90 pieces or so to go!

I have 12 pieces left and neither the Troublemaker or the balloon lady comes with one. I’ve deleted all areas and got all known chests from the locations that come back after being delete and now am searching for chests.

For me troublemaker and balloon did not keep giving pieces. Eventually I had to switch to chests. It's a slow process, but it works. If you start getting lots of weapons in chests(instead of builds), don't give up. There will still be brick pieces in them from time to time.

UPDATE - The game got a patch recently and this may no longer work

There is a glitch that allows you to duplicate the large chests.

I don't have a video at the moment but I'll do one later when I get some time.

1st thing you need to do is find a chest which will likely be close to where you land in the world so use the land scape tool to flatten the ground down to it.

Once you are beside the large chest, hold Y and select free build. Again hold Y and scroll over to vehicles , and choose a small one like a bike. Now position the bike so that it's in the middle of the chest which should have a red box around it and hold X. Keep holding X until you can move the chest. Then simply press A to place as many as you like.

You will be limited for space so I suggest going to the surface once those steps are done, you can close the free build tool and bring it back up as many times as you like to place more chests. I was getting a brick item in maybe one in 10 chests. So it will take a lot of chests open to get this I'm still around 40 off the achievement as of this moment.

I've never gone over 100 chest in the world, so I'm not sure if the game gets unstable or anything if you go over that. I usually change worlds just to be safe.

Video of glitch: sorry I didn't edit jump to : 0:43

UPDATE: Seems just like the gold bricks, large chests will only take you so far for this. I've 35 left to get and am getting nothing from the chests but studs now, not even from regular ones not duped. SecondOne Reports the same in the comments. That leaves trouble makers for the rest of them.

Not sure what the best approach for getting them to spawn is. I've definitely noticed they appear often when you are in the middle of a quest or talking to a quest giver. But if any one has any other suggestions feel free to comment.

Hey everyone, just a quick note to all these great guides here. If you have ran out of trouble makers and balloon traders giving you blocks and can now only get them from chests, i believe i have found a very important piece of info that has not been mentioned. It seems every world has a set amount of chest on it and if you've been ignoring them up to this point you might be trying to get the last pieces from new worlds but I tried going back to my first couple of worlds and started hunting chests and what do you know ive found 5 of my missing pieces in about 7-8 chests. Before doing this i made about 30 new worlds and farmed close to 100 chests and got nothing but trying this has already proven profitable.

This leads me to believe if you ignored chests on old worlds, that's where the pieces are and making new worlds is not populating the chest with them because they technically already exist else where.

I am going to continue exploring my old worlds and will update if this is true.

Oh also i am on the latest build from the GamePass version which defiantly has changes from some of these original guides.

Good hunting!

Another big help for this one is going into the settings and turning off vehicles, characters, etc. on the Map.
Then the only thing that shows is chests: making it much easier to farm them. Combined with this comment's advice I've cleared about 20 pieces in the last 2 hours: happy hunting!

It also seems to reset the chests if you delete old worlds. I was able to find my last couple pieces quickly after deleting all but the starting worlds.

You need to find all of the bricks, plates, tiles and slopes. You can get these from treasure chests scattered around the world as well as from the troublemaker. You can check your progress using the build tool.
You may struggle to find the last few and find yourself only getting studs from chests and magic potions from the troublemaker; just keep on opening chests and the rest will eventually come.
The fixtures and fittings are not required.

If you need some help with the Designer's Delight Achievement to make it more easier.
If you are just left with chests, you can go to world 283-935-56 G and you can get to 5 chests, delete the world and re-create it.
This won't take too long to get it.

You can view my video to see where all 5 chests are.

Once most of the items are found in chests, you will start getting weapons/items. You can still get the required items after that.

One of the last achievement you'll probably be shooting for. This achievement wants you to find all the bricks. So when you hold y go down to build tool press and, and when you have it equpped press y for the list of bricks. You need all of the bricks found here.

I farmed most of these while going for the gold bricks, I got a lot from chests, but even more from the troublemakers up until I had like 10-20 left. Then back to straight farming the chests as the troublemakers started dropping other junk and not the bricks.

So first go for the gold bricks, see how many you have left. If you want to try and farm troublemakers, use the landscape tool and make it the largest raise/lower you can and go a few feet underground. When you have a nice square just chill and tackle troublemakers as they pop (I did this while watching netflix) as the troublemakers stopped dropping the bricks, I had to go more active and starting making small worlds and raising chests out of the waters seemed easiest for me. (on small worlds on the xbox one physical edition, I find going on one half of the world and farming the chests before crossing allowed the other side to respawn by the time I was done with the 2nd side.. if you follow that. So I could just stay in one world constantly opening the same chests because of the game glitchin out).

There doesn't seem to be any recent guides for this, in terms of specifics. So, here you go. I have discovered that the road pieces from both DLC packs ARE (at least of 2/2/2018) REQUIRED to unlock this achievement. However, it doesn't appear that you need to buy the DLC to obtain the pieces. They will just not be visible in your list of pieces. I bought the DLC packs and all of the pieces that were previously not visible/unobtained, were visible. I then proceeded as you generally would digging up chests until I got the remaining 6 that I previously couldn't even see! I'd recommend buying the packs, as the achievements are extremely easy, and it helps to see how many bricks you really have left to collect.

Keep in mind, if you're new to this game and just started out. You can obtain these brick elements from the Balloon trader, eventually you won't be able to get more from this.
You can get them from catching the green troublemakers. Eventually, you will not be able to get any more from these.
You can get them from treasure chests, this will most likely be your last means of obtaining pieces. And I can tell your from experience, you will get to a point where you can go a few hundred chests without seeing a single piece. But they are out there. Just keep going.

Brick elements are obtained from random chests and Troublemakers. These will fill the Bricks, Plates, Tiles, and Slopes sections under your Build Tool (Fixtures & Fittings are not required for the achievement). There are a lot of brick elements to unlock, so make sure to open every chest and catch every Troublemaker you can!

First of all, this is legit the worst achievement of them all. It's all RNG based, as many pointed out, start off with the troublemakers and trader balloon and when they start selling/carrying only junk for a while it means the rest of the bricks are in chests.

Now the fun part, just open chests like never before, you will eventually reach a point when you unlocked all of the stuff except bricks and you might see that you get only items. Push through. Personally I had only 3 bricks left when I started opening chest like crazy and as soon as I switched from custom worlds to random worlds I found both. Overall it took maybe 7 hours to get the last 3 and 2 pieces and it took 10 more hours to get the last piece. In the end I ended up with almost 10 of each weapon in the item menu and I found the last piece in an bugged chest (there were like 6 chests in 1 spot) in a random world.

Protip: Don't bother for this achievement unless you wanna grind lmao

The Brick Elements are items that are randomly found in Chests, obtained from Troublemakers or can be bought from the Trader. You need to collect all tiles, bricks, slopes and plates. You can check status of what you need by opening the Brick Tool and looking for any black bricks with question marks.

Blocks can either be purchased from a night merchant or stolen from troublemakers.
