How to unlock the Flying Paintbrush achievement in LEGO Worlds - Definitive Guide

For those of you who are not as fast on the uptake like me, this is done by the paintball gun Lego item NOT the paint tool. If I can save at least one person from spending the time I did doing this wrong, I'll be a happy man.

I traded the paintball gun for the ice gun, is there a way to get the paintball gun back

Yes, it will pop up again in a treasure chest.

Can't find any seagulls, anybody know any good seeds or normal places they spawn?

There's Seagulls on the very first map/world you land in with the pirates.

Keep in mind that even if you're using the right paint gun, hitting a seagull in flight with it is still a challenge.

I got lucky and the one I was firing at decided it wanted to fight an Abominable Snowman (I don't get it either), so I pelted them both and it popped.

Simple as it sounds, use the paintball gun, and shoot a seagull with it. The devil is finding a paintball gun, as they are inventory items, they are used for quests and trading. They pop randomly in chests and also some quests give them out. Keep in mind, some quests you have to give the NPC a paintball gun, so it’ll come out of your inventory. If this happens, you’ll need to get another one before you can get the trophy. The seagull can be found at Colossal Corals, Ornamental Orchard, Pirate Playground, Polar Plains, and Submerged Secrets.

The Paintball Gun can be found in any random chest. Seagulls appear in several biomes, including the first tutorial level Pirate Playground. Equip the Paintball Gun from your inventory, hold to aim and lock onto a Seagull, then press to fire. Hit it while it's in the air and the achievement will pop.

Note that the Paintball Gun is not the same as the Paint Tool.
