How to unlock the Eye Facing the Fear; Breaking the Cycle achievement in Library Of Ruina - Definitive Guide
This is the most difficult task in Ruina prior to the ensemble end game.
I avoided putting up guides until now as it’s a lot of effort to write out decks so I’ll just link the Reddit thread with the deck I used to save me the pain https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/libraryofruina...
Phase 1 has an interesting mechanic. One of your party members will be ‘Enchanted’ and you’ll need to clash a low cost card with them to avoid them getting stagger OHKO’d by Big Bird. If a teammate has ‘The Strongest’ and gets enchanted they’ll be too fast to counter. Not that that means to take it off, but maybe restart if you get unlucky there as it’s randomized who starts off enchanted. You need to kill all adds so the boss becomes fatal. Go through like normal clashing and unload on the boss when it comes to it. Try and avoid his darkness mass attack because the affected players will become enchanted I believe so have a high enough cost to counter that on at least 3 players minimum.
Phase 2: switch PT to blunt and maybe use a mass attack here, make sure to save 1 mass attack for next phase though. Make sure to properly clash the birds Insta stagger purple card and prioritize taking them out, ignore the boss. When they’re all on 1 HP you have 3 turns to finish the deed on the boss. You need to stagger him ASAP and kill him as punishment deals heavy damage
Phase 3: mass attack out the gate, use 2 if you have them. You have 2 turns to finish this fight. Use your strongest cards and you’ll be set, he’ll stagger and die on round 2. I more or lesss ignore the adds as the mass takes care of them mostly but it’s worth clashing smartly as they’re deceptively strong hitters. Just make sure u get enough firepower on the boss
Apoc Bird: the final phase is the hardest part of the game. There’s no cheese. Here’s the strategy - managing your light regen, 3 cost cards and draw is of utmost importance. This is a long fight where you’ll need a perfect balance and play the long game of attrition. Getting staggered is a big issue to the strategy. When he uses mass attacks use your cards properly, you must clash these well. They use a lot of light so use your regen cards on a different speed die and make sure they aren’t the clash unless used against his slam down move (the one with 2 attacks I think that’s the name). The goal is to stagger him 3 times, then finish him off one last time on the last turn. With this deck you’ll have the resources to clash properly and regen everyone well enough to win, but there’s constant RNG on the draws for this one. It’s a close call and you need to play very well. Focus on minimizing your damage, if you simply clash well the stagger damage will come with time.

Why did I read this five minutes after completing it by the skin of my teeth?

Update: this is not the hardest part of the game, rather the hardest up until this point
