You may need to progress a little through the story before you can do this.
From the main page, select the picture of your librarian.
On the page where you can select your deck, hit until you highlight "Librarian Info"
On the right of the screen is a Customize Librarian button, click it
Now just make a change to your librarian's appearance and press to complete.
