How to unlock the Explorers achievement in Lies Of Astaroth - Definitive Guide

To get Explorers, you must unlock and 3-star six hidden levels. Some maps have hidden levels that can only be discovered by earning all three stars on a specific level. To earn all three stars in a level, you'll have to complete that level 3 times while accomplishing increasingly harder objectives.

These levels will unlock hidden levels when 3-starred:

Zephyr Island 3-3: Stars Academy (Unlocks 3-8: Dark Library )
Jade Forest 4-4: Blue Eagle Falls (Unlocks 4-8: Valley of Fog )
Charred Plains 5-4: Ashes Valley (Unlocks 5-9: Coke Ruins)
Underground City 6-5: Ebony Temple (Unlocks 6-9: Magic Spring)
Doomsday Gorge 7-7: Dilemma Cliffs (Unlocks 7-10: Fear Cloisters)
Sky Castle 8-5: Fork Intersection (Unlocks 8-11: Meteorites' Crater)
Sea Turtle Island 9-7: Ship Wreck (Unlocks 9-11: Pictograph Stone Door)
Ocean Bed 10-6: Neptune's Trident (Unlocks 10-11: Murloc's Village)

The description for this Achievement is wrong. Not only must you unlock at least six hidden levels, you also have to 3-star six of them. 8-11 and 9-11 will be extremely challenging, and should only be attempted once you're around level 50 or higher. Of the two, 9-11 is easier because 8-11 has cards that can revive other cards and 9-11 doesn't.

Here's my 9-11 deck and strategy:

Level: 51 - Card Cost 129/131
Runes: Fire Forge, Icicle, Vortex, Lightning (All level 4)
Cards:

Kirin (5 Star, Forest) Level 10
Aryani (4 Star, Forest) Level 10
Naiad (4 Star, Forest) Level 10
St Hindin (4 Star, Forest) Level 10
Archbishop (4 Star, Kingdom) Level 10
Archmage (4 Star, Kingdom) Level 10
Blademaster (4 Star, Kingdom) Level 10
Titan (4 Star, Kingdom) Level 10
Medusa (4 Star, Hell) Level 10
Red Dragon (4 Star, Hell) Level 10

The enemy deck uses nothing but Hell cards. Thankfully, none of them can bring other cards back to life. But several have a high chance of bringing themselves back.

The keys to winning are having good damage against Hell, bringing cards back to life (preferably two cards with such an ability), and keeping your cards alive with healing.

Do not bring cards into battle that do bonus damage against non-Hell elements if possible. You want all three abilities to have potential usefulness in this battle.

I got the 5-star Kirin in a tower. If you don't have a 5-star card yet, try to substitute something that does good healing or eliminates an enemy card in one turn.

For the round to be a winning round, you want to start out being able to kill the first or second enemy in one hit. It also helps if you get the Chimera as the first enemy, before you've deployed your first card. That way, it can't instakill any of your cards.

You have to 3 star 6 of those hidden maps, unlocking them is not enough

Eventually, you'll want to beat them all, but Map 3,4,5,6,7,9 are the recommended ones for this achievement.

I 3-starred 3-8, so I met the qualifications but did not receive the Achievement. Also, 9-11 is way harder than 8-11. But if you have deck tips for 9-11, I'd love to hear them.

Also, I complained about the issue and the developer acknowledged that the Achievement isn't working as intended. Could be a bit of a language barrier there, but in my personal experience it's glitched by any definition.

9-11 is a straight hell deck that tries to lock you down with seal. Only one of its monsters has immunity and only one of its monsters has reflection. Its runes consist of 2 anti-kingdom, and 2 that activate if hell cards hit the graveyard. 3 of them have anti-forest attacks, so be very careful with using forest.

There's a lot of options you can do for 9-11, but mainly don't overextend otherwise you'll get caught by Soul Reaper's Clean Sweep.

Traps and freezes (Naiads).
Thundershield rune
Most 5* cards
Mammoth with Stonewall/Red Valley works well, most 4* Wilderness will generally do fine here.
Creatures with dodge and concentration are great.
Titans and Blademasters work great as long as you don't trigger their kingdom runes. Kingdom in general works really great once you get those 2 runes to run out.
Soul Shield rune is a must if you decide to run Hell cards.
Destroy and Teleportation work well here, but I don't recommend Exile unless you can block their Seals.

You just need to be able to do enough quick damage so the 2 Bone Dragon/Chimera/Archdemon aren't on the field at the same time, because that's when it gets hard.

I have no idea how you found Map 8-11-3 easier. Archmage + Aranyani combo with most of the annoying stall creatures in the game with no runes equipped was ridiculous.

Could you possibly add to your solutions tips you used for staring anything of these maps. I'm stuck on the last two stars for 8-11 and 9-11 as well.

Haven't attempted 9-11 yet but 8-11-2 is fucked, I cannot imagine 8-11-3. I think I will wait until I get Archmage to do 8-11 and go attempt 9-11.

I just passed 9-11-1. Deck is lampade, naiad, st hindin, aranyani, dryad, royal guard x2, archmage, archbishop, Medusa. Permafrost, Arctic freeze, clear springs, thundershield. Took a lot of attempts. I still don't have a 5* sadly. But if you get a good run of cards, the aranyani/archmage combo can be ridiculous.

@EastX, please fix the solution. You need to 3-star the hidden levels for the cheevo to pop.

Here is my deck for 9-11-3 since I don't have an Archmage. All runes are Lvl 4 & cards lvl 10. Took 2 tries and it was a pretty easy win.

Runes: Soul Shield, Thunderbolt, 2X Burning Soul
Cards:
Aranyani
Soul Reaper
Medusa X2
Red Dragon
Bone Dragon
Banshee
Kirin
Black Widow
Lich

Note: If you don't unlock the hidden level before you make the world Torment... you're in for a world of hell. A lot of people are rushing through to get to Torment... watch out!

This might sound dumb...but can you swap a level to torment without having 3 starred the hidden level? I didn't think you could switch to Torment without maxing the stars for the level.

Anyhow, my question is if the torment hidden levels count as well? Seems like it might be easier to do the three lowest levels, then do them again on Torment (which hasn't been that challenging since the AI deck is still pretty limited, though at a higher level)

NOTE: I didn't pay attention on Normal, but in Torment Mode, it's 4-3 (Fallen Star Lake) that unlocks Valley of Fog, not 4-4.

...and NO it does not appear that Torment mode counts. My achv popped after 3* score on 8-11 (normal) after getting all 3 stars through Torment world 7.
