How to unlock the Narrow Win achievement in Lies Of Astaroth - Definitive Guide

Discovered this by complete accident as I was trying to go for it with the other solutions. Because I missed the time where it's easy as noted in ChinDocta's solution I was trying the math option and got down to 16 HP in my battle. Seeing that I was out of options (no positive health manipulation cards in my deck this time) I just hit "auto-battle" without thinking about it. It summoned the Murder Doll I had in my deck and it did 150 damage to me as it came into play as it's supposed to. I figured I'd just lost the battle to my stupidity.

However, my team also killed the enemy on the same turn and it credited me with a victory. The achievement popped right afterwards.

Murder Doll is a two-star card and should be pretty easy to come by, particularly if you're higher level and are in the position I was and had missed the easy solution. So, go fight a weak enemy (not in a maze/tower, of course) let them beat you up for a while, get under 160 HP (much easier than 10 or lower) and use Murder Doll, just make sure you win the battle in the same turn.

One final caveat, Murder Doll has a 4 turn waiting period so she'll need to be in your hand for a bit for this to work. Probably won't matter but just remember it for your planning around timing.

Update:
Eurydace was kind enough to take a video of the solution in action. Thanks to him for that!

Just got a low level invasion finally laugh. Made a video here, if you want to add it to the solution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KgW70-SN68

The Funnel-Web hits you for 100 but only has a 2CD. Could use those if you're missing Dolls.

Now I just need to save up Murder dolls since I used all mine previously as level up fodder haha.

Great solution. I kept two Murder dolls in my hand until the last round and played them to get my health to zero as I killed the AI.

Dang it, I too have been using Murder Dolls as level up fodder. Gonna have to start saving up on them now.

This deck can be used for the 'Power Struggle' achievement as well.

Awesome, I built a deck with 4 murder dolls and a chaos dragon. Invasion on 1-1 and let him get me below 600 and unloaded my deck and got the victory. Thanks! I'm level 66 at the moment and the math thing wasn't working.

Anyone know if this has been patched? I did it in a tower battle and didn't get it.

This doesn't work in towers, never has. The achievement doesn't work there for some reason and it seems that has never been patched. If you've cleared all of the early maps, you'll need to wait for one of the daily invasions to pop up there.

Accidently in the Maze of the second map.
I pressed a few times: Y and then X for Autobattle.
Popped directly at pressing X before battle was finished.
I was around Level 11 on my second day playing this game.
Definitly in the Maze !!! (Tower? on the 2nd map) in the campaign...

This might be a change in the new TU. That would be great news, particularly coming off auto-battle.

This worked for me, albeit I had to modify my cards a little since I was dumb and am now nearly level 93. I've tormented the first 4 maps so I couldn't go back for the easy win and I've 3 started all maps up to number 8 so, I had to find a map and card set that could work. Took me about 30 minutes to figure out the cards I needed and another 45 minutes to find a good map. Then I just adjusted my cards accordingly, but it was still frustrating at times.., I kept either starting too powerful or waiting too long and having the AI kill me at the last few cards...also be aware of the enemy ruins and if you need you can use some too. I only used 2 ruins and thankfully found a map where the enemy didnt have any, but I digress and to the point, I didnt even use a full deck, the cards I used were: fully powered Fallen Knight (extremely usedul) fully powered Eos (my blocker), fully powered Ophiuchus and 4 unpowered Murder Dolls. Not sure how much my ruines actually played a part but I had a Lava Armor and Fire fist both of which were not powered at all. It took a bit of timing but you'll start to see and feel the rhythm of the battle and prepare to lose or accidentally win by small margins, All I'm saying is that with a little time a patience it can be done if you find yourself in the higher levels and still hadn't got this. I didn't want to post this as a solution because its basically following what the solution is, this is just to give people some hope and maybe a few tips. Big thumbs up otherwise I woul have been completely lost! Oh one last thing, I did this on a level I had two stars on, when I finally got down to 289hp I hadn't yet played any of my Murder Dolls, at that point I threw everything at him and kind of hoped. I did go to 0 hp and eliminated the remaining AI cards, the guardian however still looked like it had all its HP but it gave me the congratulations splash and eventhough I was unqualified to win Hard, then achievement didnt unlock until after I backed out of that match after the win.

I think I am screwed. I beat the first 12 torment maps and just purchased the 13th. If this was on the 360 I would save my game on flash and try to start over. This sounds way easier to get when you first starter the game. Do you have to win with exactly 10 health left? Or 1 through 10 health?

negative infinitity to 10 works. It does not have to be exactly 10. You just have to be 10 or lower on the turn when you win the match. It's definitely harder the later you go, and there have been requests for the developer to offer a reset option, but they seem disinclined.

Would be really helpful if this achievements was flagged as "misseable" although it's not, it becomes way harder to get it in the late game

I did this at lvl 40 on stage 5-1 hard.

I used 4 murder dolls. If anyone needs them, I was able to get them in the starter deck packs. I had like 120,000 (gold?) and used about 40k of that. It wasn't really that hard to do, one card that will help stall is Paladin as he will absorb damage from troops that would otherwise directly attack your hero.

It took me about 10 tries, but once you try it out you'll get a feel for what's needed and not having too many strong troops.

I was pleased to find out you can do this on a level without meeting the specific difficulty requirements. So even if you accidentally win you can still replay the same level.

Got it at level 89 against a torment mode opponent at level 92. You have to win by eliminating all opponent cards the same turn you play all your murder dolls to hit 0 health. Pretty easy to do. One card should be strong enough to eliminate a opponent card every turn. Then it's just timing and math. Always have 3 murder dolls in your hand ready to go.

When you are level 3 you have 1140 HP. On the third star of level 1-1 Forest Gate, each of their wolves does 162 damage. 7 hits leaves you on 6 hp. Simply auto-battle after this and you should win the fight with 6 hp netting you this achievement.

Edit: This is incredibly glitchy and took a couple days for mine to "pop". There was no indication that the criteria had been met and it was not in a state of Done! Unlocking.

Edit 2: This is known to not work in the towers, the developers have been notified and are working on a fix that will sort out this issue as well as retroactively give the achievement to anyone who "earned" it through a tower.

I got this last night when I was level 12 I think? I was either 11 or 12, and I think it was one of the first areas on the third map. Somehow ended up with 2 HP left after just speeding up the battle and not playing any monsters until I would've died had I not played any.

I've done this twice now in the 2 lower level towers, since I'm way past this point in the game and it still hasn't popped.

Possible that you have to do this during a campaign mission?

Could also be bugged not entirely sure, just know that I survived with 7 and 9 HP and it didn't unlock, once on the first tower and once on the second.

Does anyone know if this achievement will unlock while doing an Invasion? This gives you a rare chance to redo a fight that was on a much earlier map and therefore, is more practical for this achievement if you are a high level such as myself. I can't see any reason why they wouldn't unlock on invasions but since it is confirmed that these won't unlock on tower battles, I do have some reason to feel a little paranoid.

it's stupid if you can't get it in the towers considering it's still a battle and the achievement doesn't say you can't plus even if you could re do the battles, when you're a higher level like myself wouldn't matter and will be based on luck

Can confirm that this is unlockable in invasions. Earlier the map the better, although I was invaded on level 3-2 and was getting a little tired of waiting by that point. Just make sure you manually battle, guide/quit out if things are not in your favor, and be really good at calculating damages. I don't think it really matters, but prior to the battle I took all damage-based runes out of my deck and only kept my strongest 4-5 monsters in my hand, then when hero health got low i finally sent them out.

Glad that devs fixed login streaks and screen issues, sad that they haven't gotten around to some of the other problems yet. Hope they fix tower issues soon.

Hello,

quick question, I beat all maps first 8-10 even in torment mode, any chance to get this now? There is no way how earlier levels could be played.

Xelliz, I'm still investigating this as well with Finger Tactic as per the forums. As of right now, it doesn't look likely as they're ghosting me.

For whatever reason, I had to be at level 4 because the wolves' attacks did 150 damage each instead of 162. You got an upvote from me though anyway! :)

By CryptCore on 12 Apr 2019 01:06
As noted by Jujii8, you'll need to be level 4 in order for this to work. You'll end up with 10 HP as the wolves do 150 damage each. You'll also need to block one with a card so they don't kill you.
