How to unlock the Unlucky achievement in Lies Of Astaroth - Definitive Guide

This achievement is pure luck, there is NO trick to getting this early. Once you reach a high enough level to head to the temple (under the DECK category) you have the option to "meditate" which means you can spend a number of coins for runes. you can theoretically earn any rune in the game in here but the vast majority of runes you will get are junk and will be sold back for coins. there are four costs in here: 2000, 4000, 6000, and 8000.

If you buy a rune for 2000 and get junk, you can spend the next amount to get a better rune. you can NOT choose what your cost is. If you get a normal usable rune, it resets the cost to 2000. The more junk you get in a row, the higher the cost will be and the chance for a better rune (or scrap) will be higher when you Do get one. Hitting cn_Y on this screen takes you to a store where you can use blue, purple, and yellow scraps to buy runes outright. After 10 purchases you are maxed out and must hit cn_X to claim your runes and sell your junk.

To get this achievement, you must continue purchasing until you are unfortunate enough to grab 6 pieces of junk in a row. This cost me personally around 400,000 coins before it unlocked and it may take you longer as this is ENTIRELY luck based. Just keep trying, it will come eventually.

Took me roughly 1 million gold to get this. The last 3 on one attempt were grey and the first three on the next were grey, so I can confirm that it doesn't have to be in one attempt. You can exchange, and your grey streak will remain active.

Spent about 600k to get this. Also helped get the level 4 rune achievement as I had plenty of duplicate 1&2 stars to use with plenty left over to buff a few of my better runes for my decks.

Wow I've only used the temple a handful of times and just got this, definitely not "unlucky" for me. And like what John McLarren said it will help getting a level 4 rune chvo too.

I was able to move the cursor back to the 2000 gold option and buy more rune choices there. It wasn't always available, but it often would be. I ended a row with 5 grey runes in a row and "processed" them back for my money and shards and tried again. I got two more grey runes to start the next row and the achievement popped. So you do NOT have to get them all in the same row for processing, just six greys in a row.

Anyone else have trouble with this. I've gotten 6 in a row 2 times and no achievement.

Never mind. There was a problem with the dash update for preview members that was preventing achievements from unlocking. I had to redo the requirement though.

I was spamming the buy button trying to get up to the 30 different rune cheeve. Probably spent about 200,000-300,000 gold in one setting to pop this cheeve or 5 grey in a row.
