How to unlock the Puppet-Devouring Green Monster achievement in Lies of P - Definitive Guide
The Puppet-Devouring Green Monster is one of the hardest bosses in the game due to its mechanics and applying decay on you. Summon a specter if you want to make this fight easier to handle, but it won’t simplify the fight entirely.
Gear Setup
What gear you bring to the fight is entirely up to you and should match the attributes you have leveled up. Here is the setup that was used in making this guide:- Weapon: Bone-Cutting Sawblade +9 & Big Pipe Wrench Handle
- Legion Arm: Aegis
- Amulets: Patience, Strength, & Blue Guardianship
- Frame: Strengthening
- Converter: Superior Corrosion Resistance
- Cartridge: Arch Break
- Liner: Workshop Union Certified
Phase 1
During phase 1the Green Monster of the Swamp is weak to fire. Apply fire to your blade as soon as the specter takes focus. Then, use the Cube to buff the specter with something like the Protection Wishstone. Avoid building up decay by fighting the boss close unless it is using antennae. Phase 1 ends when the health meter is fully depleted. The Green Monster’s stagger weak point is by its head.- Stand & Slam: When the Green Monster stands up, it will slam an arm down which can be blocked or dodged.
- Dig Attack: If you see the boss dig underground, start moving while watching the dirt trail. Try to dodge when it comes up, but the timing is tricky.
- Antennae Lash: The Green Monster will lash its antennae at close range in rapid succession. Dodge or run to stay clear, blocking will still build up decay and likely kill you.
- Charge Attack: When the boss backs up, it will charge at its current target, move/dodge to the side if you are it.
- Decayed Arms: If you are fighting the boss at a distance, it may reach with its arms using a decay attack. It’s best to keep close while engaging with the Green Monster.
Phase 2
In phase 2, the Puppet-Devouring Green Monster is weak to electricity. If you have an abrasive, apply it when you are not the target (any element helps, but electric is best). The electric abrasives are purchased by certain vendors, like the Wandering Merchant in the Red Lobster Inn. If you have a Cube with a 2nd charge, wait until the chained run to use it. The specter does not understand to avoid getting in the path.- Antennae Lash: The Green Monster will rotate its upper body just before lashing out with its antennae at close range. As soon as you see the upper body rotate, run/dodge away, blocking will build up decay and likely kill you.
- Chained Charge & Roll: When the boss backs up it will chain multiples charges together and end rolling while glowing red. Stay clear of the boss during the charges and move to the side if it targets you with the roll. Then, run in and get a few hits while it recovers.
- Swipes: The boss will often chain 1-3 swipes into a combo that can be blocked/parried.
- Slam: If you see the Green Monster’s are spinning in the air, dodge/block the upcoming slam.

Story-related and unmissable.
The Green Monster of the Swamp is quite a lot like Andreus, the ex-Archbishop, in that you’re essentially fighting a big glistening lump of nastiness. His main attacks are his arm swipes and ground pounds. The patterns of his lunges are easy to learn, and, just like with Andreus, the easiest thing to do is to use fire along with your attacks to whittle him down much quicker.
His second phase, when he turns into the Puppet-Devouring Green Monster, has a few twists thrown in. The monster is now semi-bipedal, and he has a long-range leap, which is simple enough to parry. He also attacks faster and he uses the tentacles on his back for some distance-covering attacks. It’s very reminiscent of Andreus, only without the Archbishop poking out from his back. Get in close and use your parry to finish him off and unlock this achievement.

We put on the butcher's amulet and stock up on fiery cocktails. We disassemble the salamander's blade, install the handle of the crystal spear of acid, thereby, without losing our mobility, we increase our attack distance and spam the boss in phase 1, parrying at the same time. In phase 2, the familiar attacks of the Defective Caretaker are added, but vile whips are added, be careful, and also long horse ram runs, like Ludwig in Bloodborn or like the fiery bull from Sekiro, if you get caught in his run - gg, it’s advisable to run in a circle from of this attack, at the end of the run there will be a “red” attack - we dodge.
The ramming run can be parried at the beginning and thereby disrupt this run.
You can go through with the trident of the covenant, this will make the boss crit faster, but the reassembled weapon is also quite good.
In addition, in phase 2 you can shower him with cocktails at the beginning, or at the end, you see for yourself.
