How to unlock the Special Weapon Collector achievement in Lies of P - Definitive Guide

Important Detail - Do NOT consume the special ergo dropped from Bosses. There is a total of 11 Special Weapons, and 10 of them are obtained by turning boss ergo into weapons. You will be able to obtain their ergo again in New Game+ and can make the weapons if you didn't pick them or choose to get the amulets.

The last special Weapon, "Golden Lie" requires you to "lie" throughout the game, or more accurately will require you to accumulate enough "Humanity".

At the end of chapter 4, after defeating the boss "Fallen Archbishop Andreus", you will run into the NPC "Alidoro" in the next room (can be met before beating the boss by taking an elevator that's on the way to the boss), and he will be the person who will turn your boss ergo into either a Special weapon or an amulet. He will eventually be at Hotel Krat regardless of whether you lied to him about a safe place. He'll be on the 1st floor, top left corner. You can only pick to get a weapon or amulet from a boss ergo, so turn all boss ergos into weapons.

Special Weapons -
1. Seven-Coil Spring Sword - Parade Master
2. Etiquette - Scrapped Watchman
3. Holy Sword of the Ark - King’s Flame Fuoco
4. Trident of the Covenant - Fallen Archbishop Andreus
5. Puppet Ripper - King of Puppets
6. Frozen Feast - Champion Victor
7. Two Dragons Sword - Green Monster of the Swamp
8. Uroboros’s Eye - Laxasia The Complete
9. Noblesse Oblige - Simon Manus Awakened God

10. Proof of Humanity - Nameless Puppet
This Special weapon is obtained by "refusing" to give your heart to Geppetto at the end of the game, which will have you fight the Nameless Puppet.

11. Golden Lie - Lied throughout the game/Gain enough Humanity
This Special weapon is obtained by choosing to lie throughout the game/gaining enough humanity. At the end of chapter 5, after beating the boss "Eldest of the Black Rabbit Brotherhood", the building in the front will open, the side room on the left there will be a large portrait of a boy, pick it up and bring it to Geppetto in his office. He will hang it up on the wall next to the doorway, whenever you choose to tell a lie, the nose on the portrait will grow longer. (It doesn't look like it grows with each lie, but story progression) Your appearance will also begin to change such as longer hair and turning white at certain story points, and this change is you becoming human.

Depending on how much Humanity you've gained, you will be able to obtain the Golden Lie even before beating the last boss, but you'll be near the end of the game nonetheless. If not, after beating the game, do not go into New Game+, choose not to restart and you will return to Hotel Krat.

You may or may not have enough humanity to get the Golden Lie. This is where the record player comes in, each record you play will give you humanity, and you only have to listen till you see the auto save on the top right of the screen (do it again if in NG+). Afterward, go into Geppetto's office and interact with the Portrait, and you will obtain the Golden Lie.

Do NOT go straight into New Game+, depending on your choices/ending you can also get -

Is it just me or is what the game considers to be a “lie” 90% of the time from P’s perspective entirely subjective, and if you beat the game

@WhyattThrash - For sure, especially when Antonia asked you if she was still as beautiful as when she was young in her portrait. The lie option is “Of course”, and the truth is “There’s nothing left”, which is pretty harsh!

If it helps anyone, it seems that if there’s any ambiguity; being unnecessarily cruel and acting like a douchebag is the truth (puppet?) option, and showing empathy and compassion is the lie (human?) one.

Cheers mate, I’m not sure all of those are correct though, since I think the “ergo’s reacting” type messages are what informs you that you’ve told a “lie”. Which would mean telling Polendina that you’ve seen a puppet capable of love is the lie option.

@WhyattThrash - I did some digging, and it looks like you get by with a few truths, looks like 1-2 times, and still get the Golden Lie weapon. I've also looked at a few other lie/truth guides (IGN and Polygon), and they all say that this is the lie option. The question that he asked was "Have you ever met a puppet who loves a human?". Very ambiguous on which is which indeed.

I do remember the quest line regarding the guy with a puppet wife. This may be related to this, as the options for him were to lie and say “I saw the message she left, saying she loves you” or tell the truth with “I’ve never seen that happen before”

@DEAFOURTWENTY - If you restarted into NG+ right after the credits, unfortunately not. You'll have to play through the game again telling lies.

Small thing, you can get the Golden Lie before beating the game. First I noticed it was after beating the 2nd last boss, which admittedly is near enough the end of the game but I'm assuming it is due to the amount of lies you tell and not story progress. Not sure what the earliest you could possible get it is but it'll be late game regardless.

@o PENN o - Interesting detail! Makes sense since you can skip/miss side quests or dialogue with NPC's that gives you the choice of lying or telling the truth. Did you make every true/lie choice when beating the boss? That point of the game is indeed very late, so you might have to interact with the side activities as well, not just main story mandatory choices to get the Golden Lie.

So after a few playthroughs I think that the Great Lie of Lies of P is that the game lies to you about its core mechanic. It’s not about lying or not, it’s just about gaining Humanity, which you can do in a multitude of ways;

- Lying (presumably since it’s something puppets can’t do)
- Expressing kindness instead of unnecessary cruelty
- Completing quest lines (like Antonia’s where you save her life, again expressing kindness)
- Listening to music (because idk but it’s a thing)
- Answering the Riddle King’s riddles correctly

You’ll notice that you’ve gained Humanity by the “springs reacting” message that pops up, later turning into “the ergo’s stirring” and finally “you feel warmth”.

@WhyattThrash - A nice analysis of the mechanic! I will say that it would be great if the text prompts were more frequent. Such as for every lie/truth choice the gear can turn left or right depending on whether it is a human or puppet response, instead of only the 3 times it pops up when becoming more human.

What do you mean “3 times”? It pops up every single time you make a “human” response, the only exception being when you’re locked in dialogue with Simon there’s no pop up (maybe because that choice is so ambiguous that it doesn’t matter). Otherwise every single time you become more human it pops up.

It doesn’t for every supposed “lie” choice in the guide you linked, but my theory is that’s because the guide is wrong. It doesn’t matter that much for the achievement though since there’s leeway and you’re allowed a few “wrong” choices.

@WhyattThrash - Oh really? My bad then, I must not be paying attention! I did my truth play-through first, in which I told a few lies, but not enough to get the lie ending. I'm Currently doing my lie run. I must have gotten it mixed up with my truth run, with me only getting it with the few lies I told.

Also worth noting that if you’re on NG+ you have to collect the albums again in order to be able to gain Humanity from listening to them. If you don’t collect them again, they will show up in your menu as already played and listening to them will do nothing. So make sure you collect them all again on NG+!

@WhyattThrash - Regarding the PowerPyx guide being wrong, I went and had a look at 4 other lie/truth guides just to be sure I'm not giving out false info. Interestingly enough all of them were identical, all the same choices! But of course, there's the possibility that all of them got the same wrong answers. Either way, following the guides will give you the desired ending/Golden Lie weapon in the end.

Yeah that’s fair, the most important part is whether it works well enough or not. And if the guides give the expected outcomes it’s good enough. Most likely the guides all copied each other to get the same results though, since again, they all seem to be identically wrong.

Oh actually the Simon dialogue does have a reaction, it’s just that the guide is wrong about that one as well. “Monsters” is the “truth” and “Hope for a cure” is the “lie”.

@WhyattThrash - I'm really surprised by these guides! Even without a 2nd playthrough, not getting a reaction is a big tell that the other option was the lie. At least they have listed the correct options to pick to get certain items and NPC story achievements are correct. It's good to see these errors won't mess up the endings people plan to get.

If you're playing through and fact-checking the lie/truth options, I could add that on. It's just the not-so-obvious ones that these guides are getting incorrect. I know that they're technically "good enough", but it would be good to get it 100% right.

I believe in the guide you've linked those two are the only places where they're wrong; Showing Polendina the wedding ring is the "human" option, as is telling Simon there's "Hope for a cure", although the guide says the opposite. The guide's also missing the interaction with Eugenia and the glove, saying that Alidoro hated the glove is the puppet option and that he loved it is the human one.

A few other actions that give Humanity are saving Antonia, listening to the Puppet king's message through Venigni's decoder, praying at the chapel, and each correct Riddle king answer.

I only had to listen to one record and to be honest I didnt even check to see if I could just automatically grab it after beating manus.. not sure you even have to listen to the records at all i think you just have to have your heart is pounding pop up from an action that makes you feel like a human and have killed simon..

I just got it and can confirm you need enough "heart is pounding" to where you get the animation where P stops and touches his heart, signifying that he went through a change. Got it after fighting Laxasia, before even meeting Sophia, so you definitely don't need all Humanity but you do need a lot.

I was able to pick up the Golden Lie weapon before finishing the game. I went back after my hair turned white when giving Sofia peace (the white hair being an indication of enough lies told).

I had to sit and listen to the entire catalogue of records I had from start to finish, THEN sit at the Stargazer to refresh the world before the painting turned gold and let me take the weapon. Hopefully this helps someone!

Nicrotix which guide did you use for gaining humanity? Most of them seem to be wrong. Check mine and see if maybe there are some sources of Humanity still available to you that you've missed. By my preliminary calculations you need to get around 30 of the 37 available Humanity to get the Golden Lie.

To get the Golden Lie I completed the game with all the lies and listened to 6 records before it went from "feeling warmth" to "your heart is pounding." Then I went to the painting and the nose was glowing gold, didn't have to reset the Stargazer.

Great to hear Nicrotix ! I did a separate playthrough to verify how much you need and 31 is the magic number. 31 out of 36 available Humanity to get the Golden Lie, you need to trigger “heart is pounding” 3 times and you can grab it.

You can get the golden lie before even fighting Laxasia. As soon as it says Your Heart is Pounding for the third time and you grab your chest, go up to the nose painting and you can grab the lie.

@Gruber Hof - Fortunately, you would still need to fight the nameless puppet a 2nd time regardless to also get the other ending in regards to refusing to give your heart, "Rise of P" (Lie/Humanity) or "Free from the puppet strings" (Truth).

In your New Game Plus, you can use the cloud save method I mentioned in the guide to get the other 2 endings without having to do a 2nd NG+. I recommend reading through the comments for more insight, it's a hit or miss for some people it seems. Solution for Real boy : They all lived happily ever after In Lies of P

How do you do the cloud saving method on Xbox? I know its super simple on PS4/5 but I can't seem to figure it out on Xbox.

Zeitooine get to the stargazer after the long elevator down to Geppetto and get an auto save and exit out of the game (forces cloud synch). Relaunch game, DO NOT CLOSE THE GAME for any reason after this point. After getting the achievements for give heart...hit the Xbox button on your controller, hit start on the Lies of P game, select "manage games and add ons" (be careful to not select "quite game", which is right below it), go to save data, click on your profile, select "delete from Xbox" (be sure not to select delete from everywhere). Your profile save data should now be removed from that folder. When you exit out of this you will see that game has closed. Open it back up, will getting syncing cloud data message, and you will now have the save from the last time the game was exited before doing the save data delete (at the stargazer). I tested this first with cyberpunk as I planned on doing a clean playthrough anyway.

Just be aware this part isn’t necessarily true. You’ll be brought back to the last spot the game performed a cloud save, and this game performs unprompted random cloud uploads during normal play. So do whatever it is you need to do quickly and hope the game didn’t perform an unprompted cloud upload.

So I’ve got all 11 weapons and no achievement. 1 of the weapons I had in storage when I got the Golden Lie. Even having all weapon in my inventory, equipping AND using each of them, still no achievement.
I am running a 3rd playthrough for the final ending, so when I get to alodoggo I’ll get another weapon and see if it pops. I’ll edit this comment if it does incase anyone else has the same problem. So my advice for now if have ALL 10 weapons in your inventory before you get the final weapon!

Edit: so at the Cathedral and purchased the first 3 weapons from Aladoro and still no achievement. Looks like I’ll have to get all of them again and hope for the best.

Small thing, you can get the Golden Lie before beating the game. First I noticed it was after beating the 2nd last boss, which admittedly is near enough the end of the game but I'm assuming it is due to the amount of lies you tell and not story progress. Not sure what the earliest you could possible get it is but it'll be late game regardless.

@o PENN o - Interesting detail! Makes sense since you can skip/miss side quests or dialogue with NPC's that gives you the choice of lying or telling the truth. Did you make every true/lie choice when beating the boss? That point of the game is indeed very late, so you might have to interact with the side activities as well, not just main story mandatory choices to get the Golden Lie.

So after a few playthroughs I think that the Great Lie of Lies of P is that the game lies to you about its core mechanic. It’s not about lying or not, it’s just about gaining Humanity, which you can do in a multitude of ways;

- Lying (presumably since it’s something puppets can’t do)
- Expressing kindness instead of unnecessary cruelty
- Completing quest lines (like Antonia’s where you save her life, again expressing kindness)
- Listening to music (because idk but it’s a thing)
- Answering the Riddle King’s riddles correctly

You’ll notice that you’ve gained Humanity by the “springs reacting” message that pops up, later turning into “the ergo’s stirring” and finally “you feel warmth”.

@WhyattThrash - A nice analysis of the mechanic! I will say that it would be great if the text prompts were more frequent. Such as for every lie/truth choice the gear can turn left or right depending on whether it is a human or puppet response, instead of only the 3 times it pops up when becoming more human.

What do you mean “3 times”? It pops up every single time you make a “human” response, the only exception being when you’re locked in dialogue with Simon there’s no pop up (maybe because that choice is so ambiguous that it doesn’t matter). Otherwise every single time you become more human it pops up.

It doesn’t for every supposed “lie” choice in the guide you linked, but my theory is that’s because the guide is wrong. It doesn’t matter that much for the achievement though since there’s leeway and you’re allowed a few “wrong” choices.

Also worth noting that if you’re on NG+ you have to collect the albums again in order to be able to gain Humanity from listening to them. If you don’t collect them again, they will show up in your menu as already played and listening to them will do nothing. So make sure you collect them all again on NG+!

@WhyattThrash - Regarding the PowerPyx guide being wrong, I went and had a look at 4 other lie/truth guides just to be sure I'm not giving out false info. Interestingly enough all of them were identical, all the same choices! But of course, there's the possibility that all of them got the same wrong answers. Either way, following the guides will give you the desired ending/Golden Lie weapon in the end.

Yeah that’s fair, the most important part is whether it works well enough or not. And if the guides give the expected outcomes it’s good enough. Most likely the guides all copied each other to get the same results though, since again, they all seem to be identically wrong.

Oh actually the Simon dialogue does have a reaction, it’s just that the guide is wrong about that one as well. “Monsters” is the “truth” and “Hope for a cure” is the “lie”.

@WhyattThrash - I'm really surprised by these guides! Even without a 2nd playthrough, not getting a reaction is a big tell that the other option was the lie. At least they have listed the correct options to pick to get certain items and NPC story achievements are correct. It's good to see these errors won't mess up the endings people plan to get.

If you're playing through and fact-checking the lie/truth options, I could add that on. It's just the not-so-obvious ones that these guides are getting incorrect. I know that they're technically "good enough", but it would be good to get it 100% right.

I believe in the guide you've linked those two are the only places where they're wrong; Showing Polendina the wedding ring is the "human" option, as is telling Simon there's "Hope for a cure", although the guide says the opposite. The guide's also missing the interaction with Eugenia and the glove, saying that Alidoro hated the glove is the puppet option and that he loved it is the human one.

A few other actions that give Humanity are saving Antonia, listening to the Puppet king's message through Venigni's decoder, praying at the chapel, and each correct Riddle king answer.

I only had to listen to one record and to be honest I didnt even check to see if I could just automatically grab it after beating manus.. not sure you even have to listen to the records at all i think you just have to have your heart is pounding pop up from an action that makes you feel like a human and have killed simon..

I just got it and can confirm you need enough "heart is pounding" to where you get the animation where P stops and touches his heart, signifying that he went through a change. Got it after fighting Laxasia, before even meeting Sophia, so you definitely don't need all Humanity but you do need a lot.

I was able to pick up the Golden Lie weapon before finishing the game. I went back after my hair turned white when giving Sofia peace (the white hair being an indication of enough lies told).

I had to sit and listen to the entire catalogue of records I had from start to finish, THEN sit at the Stargazer to refresh the world before the painting turned gold and let me take the weapon. Hopefully this helps someone!

Nicrotix which guide did you use for gaining humanity? Most of them seem to be wrong. Check mine and see if maybe there are some sources of Humanity still available to you that you've missed. By my preliminary calculations you need to get around 30 of the 37 available Humanity to get the Golden Lie.

To get the Golden Lie I completed the game with all the lies and listened to 6 records before it went from "feeling warmth" to "your heart is pounding." Then I went to the painting and the nose was glowing gold, didn't have to reset the Stargazer.

Great to hear Nicrotix ! I did a separate playthrough to verify how much you need and 31 is the magic number. 31 out of 36 available Humanity to get the Golden Lie, you need to trigger “heart is pounding” 3 times and you can grab it.

You can get the golden lie before even fighting Laxasia. As soon as it says Your Heart is Pounding for the third time and you grab your chest, go up to the nose painting and you can grab the lie.

@Gruber Hof - Fortunately, you would still need to fight the nameless puppet a 2nd time regardless to also get the other ending in regards to refusing to give your heart, "Rise of P" (Lie/Humanity) or "Free from the puppet strings" (Truth).

In your New Game Plus, you can use the cloud save method I mentioned in the guide to get the other 2 endings without having to do a 2nd NG+. I recommend reading through the comments for more insight, it's a hit or miss for some people it seems. Solution for Real boy : They all lived happily ever after In Lies of P

Zeitooine get to the stargazer after the long elevator down to Geppetto and get an auto save and exit out of the game (forces cloud synch). Relaunch game, DO NOT CLOSE THE GAME for any reason after this point. After getting the achievements for give heart...hit the Xbox button on your controller, hit start on the Lies of P game, select "manage games and add ons" (be careful to not select "quite game", which is right below it), go to save data, click on your profile, select "delete from Xbox" (be sure not to select delete from everywhere). Your profile save data should now be removed from that folder. When you exit out of this you will see that game has closed. Open it back up, will getting syncing cloud data message, and you will now have the save from the last time the game was exited before doing the save data delete (at the stargazer). I tested this first with cyberpunk as I planned on doing a clean playthrough anyway.

Just be aware this part isn’t necessarily true. You’ll be brought back to the last spot the game performed a cloud save, and this game performs unprompted random cloud uploads during normal play. So do whatever it is you need to do quickly and hope the game didn’t perform an unprompted cloud upload.

So I’ve got all 11 weapons and no achievement. 1 of the weapons I had in storage when I got the Golden Lie. Even having all weapon in my inventory, equipping AND using each of them, still no achievement.
I am running a 3rd playthrough for the final ending, so when I get to alodoggo I’ll get another weapon and see if it pops. I’ll edit this comment if it does incase anyone else has the same problem. So my advice for now if have ALL 10 weapons in your inventory before you get the final weapon!

Edit: so at the Cathedral and purchased the first 3 weapons from Aladoro and still no achievement. Looks like I’ll have to get all of them again and hope for the best.

I'm Currently doing my lie run. I must have gotten it mixed up with my truth run, with me only getting it with the few lies I told.

Important Detail - Do NOT consume the special ergo dropped from Bosses. There is a total of 11 Special Weapons, and 10 of them are obtained by turning boss ergo into weapons. You will be able to obtain their ergo again in New Game+ and can make the weapons if you didn't pick them or choose to get the amulets.

The last special Weapon, "Golden Lie" requires you to "lie" throughout the game, or more accurately will require you to accumulate enough "Humanity".

Here's a guide for all lie/truth choices/gaining humanity in the game, Created by WhyattThrash - Telling truth/lies scenarios and gaining Humanity (SPOILERS)

Additionally, Cloud Save Method, get 2 endings in 1 playthrough - Solution for Real boy : They all lived happily ever after In Lies of P

At the end of chapter 4, after defeating the boss "Fallen Archbishop Andreus", you will run into the NPC "Alidoro" in the next room (can be met before beating the boss by taking an elevator that's on the way to the boss), and he will be the person who will turn your boss ergo into either a Special weapon or an amulet. He will eventually be at Hotel Krat regardless of whether you lied to him about a safe place. He'll be on the 1st floor, top left corner. You can only pick to get a weapon or amulet from a boss ergo, so turn all boss ergos into weapons.

Special Weapons -
1. Seven-Coil Spring Sword - Parade Master
2. Etiquette - Scrapped Watchman
3. Holy Sword of the Ark - King’s Flame Fuoco
4. Trident of the Covenant - Fallen Archbishop Andreus
5. Puppet Ripper - King of Puppets
6. Frozen Feast - Champion Victor
7. Two Dragons Sword - Green Monster of the Swamp
8. Uroboros’s Eye - Laxasia The Complete
9. Noblesse Oblige - Simon Manus Awakened God

10. Proof of Humanity - Nameless Puppet
This Special weapon is obtained by "refusing" to give your heart to Geppetto at the end of the game, which will have you fight the Nameless Puppet.

11. Golden Lie - Lied throughout the game/Gain enough Humanity
This Special weapon is obtained by choosing to lie throughout the game/gaining enough humanity. At the end of chapter 5, after beating the boss "Eldest of the Black Rabbit Brotherhood", the building in the front will open, the side room on the left there will be a large portrait of a boy, pick it up and bring it to Geppetto in his office. He will hang it up on the wall next to the doorway, whenever you choose to tell a lie, the nose on the portrait will grow longer. (It doesn't look like it grows with each lie, but story progression) Your appearance will also begin to change such as longer hair and turning white at certain story points, and this change is you becoming human.

Depending on how much Humanity you've gained, you will be able to obtain the Golden Lie even before beating the last boss, but you'll be near the end of the game nonetheless. If not, after beating the game, do not go into New Game+, choose not to restart and you will return to Hotel Krat.

You may or may not have enough humanity to get the Golden Lie. This is where the record player comes in, each record you play will give you humanity, and you only have to listen till you see the auto save on the top right of the screen (do it again if in NG+). Afterward, go into Geppetto's office and interact with the Portrait, and you will obtain the Golden Lie.

Do NOT go straight into New Game+, depending on your choices/ending you can also get -

@WhyattThrash - For sure, especially when Antonia asked you if she was still as beautiful as when she was young in her portrait. The lie option is “Of course”, and the truth is “There’s nothing left”, which is pretty harsh!

If it helps anyone, it seems that if there’s any ambiguity; being unnecessarily cruel and acting like a douchebag is the truth (puppet?) option, and showing empathy and compassion is the lie (human?) one.

Cheers mate, I’m not sure all of those are correct though, since I think the “ergo’s reacting” type messages are what informs you that you’ve told a “lie”. Which would mean telling Polendina that you’ve seen a puppet capable of love is the lie option.

@WhyattThrash - I did some digging, and it looks like you get by with a few truths, looks like 1-2 times, and still get the Golden Lie weapon. I've also looked at a few other lie/truth guides (IGN and Polygon), and they all say that this is the lie option. The question that he asked was "Have you ever met a puppet who loves a human?". Very ambiguous on which is which indeed.

I do remember the quest line regarding the guy with a puppet wife. This may be related to this, as the options for him were to lie and say “I saw the message she left, saying she loves you” or tell the truth with “I’ve never seen that happen before”

I made every humanity choice in the game and listened to all the records and still cant take it this is my second playthrough too. so im wondering if there's something else im missing somehow

To get the Golden Lie I completed the game with all the lies and listened to 6 records before it went from "feeling warmth" to "your heart is pounding." Then I went to the painting and the nose was glowing gold, didn't have to reset the Stargazer.

Great to hear Nicrotix ! I did a separate playthrough to verify how much you need and 31 is the magic number. 31 out of 36 available Humanity to get the Golden Lie, you need to trigger “heart is pounding” 3 times and you can grab it.

@Victor7095 - Nope, only the special weapons. But might as well get them on New Game+ for completionist stake! With the new patch, boss amulets are much lower in weight now, and some are quite useful!

You can get the golden lie before even fighting Laxasia. As soon as it says Your Heart is Pounding for the third time and you grab your chest, go up to the nose painting and you can grab the lie.

@Gruber Hof - Fortunately, you would still need to fight the nameless puppet a 2nd time regardless to also get the other ending in regards to refusing to give your heart, "Rise of P" (Lie/Humanity) or "Free from the puppet strings" (Truth).

In your New Game Plus, you can use the cloud save method I mentioned in the guide to get the other 2 endings without having to do a 2nd NG+. I recommend reading through the comments for more insight, it's a hit or miss for some people it seems. Solution for Real boy : They all lived happily ever after In Lies of P

How do you do the cloud saving method on Xbox? I know its super simple on PS4/5 but I can't seem to figure it out on Xbox.

Just be aware this part isn’t necessarily true. You’ll be brought back to the last spot the game performed a cloud save, and this game performs unprompted random cloud uploads during normal play. So do whatever it is you need to do quickly and hope the game didn’t perform an unprompted cloud upload.

So after a few playthroughs I think that the Great Lie of Lies of P is that the game lies to you about its core mechanic. It’s not about lying or not, it’s just about gaining Humanity, which you can do in a multitude of ways;

- Lying (presumably since it’s something puppets can’t do)
- Expressing kindness instead of unnecessary cruelty
- Completing quest lines (like Antonia’s where you save her life, again expressing kindness)
- Listening to music (because idk but it’s a thing)
- Answering the Riddle King’s riddles correctly

You’ll notice that you’ve gained Humanity by the “springs reacting” message that pops up, later turning into “the ergo’s stirring” and finally “you feel warmth”.

@WhyattThrash - A nice analysis of the mechanic! I will say that it would be great if the text prompts were more frequent. Such as for every lie/truth choice the gear can turn left or right depending on whether it is a human or puppet response, instead of only the 3 times it pops up when becoming more human.

What do you mean “3 times”? It pops up every single time you make a “human” response, the only exception being when you’re locked in dialogue with Simon there’s no pop up (maybe because that choice is so ambiguous that it doesn’t matter). Otherwise every single time you become more human it pops up.

It doesn’t for every supposed “lie” choice in the guide you linked, but my theory is that’s because the guide is wrong. It doesn’t matter that much for the achievement though since there’s leeway and you’re allowed a few “wrong” choices.

Nicrotix which guide did you use for gaining humanity? Most of them seem to be wrong. Check mine and see if maybe there are some sources of Humanity still available to you that you've missed. By my preliminary calculations you need to get around 30 of the 37 available Humanity to get the Golden Lie.

Zeitooine get to the stargazer after the long elevator down to Geppetto and get an auto save and exit out of the game (forces cloud synch). Relaunch game, DO NOT CLOSE THE GAME for any reason after this point. After getting the achievements for give heart...hit the Xbox button on your controller, hit start on the Lies of P game, select "manage games and add ons" (be careful to not select "quite game", which is right below it), go to save data, click on your profile, select "delete from Xbox" (be sure not to select delete from everywhere). Your profile save data should now be removed from that folder. When you exit out of this you will see that game has closed. Open it back up, will getting syncing cloud data message, and you will now have the save from the last time the game was exited before doing the save data delete (at the stargazer). I tested this first with cyberpunk as I planned on doing a clean playthrough anyway.

So I’ve got all 11 weapons and no achievement. 1 of the weapons I had in storage when I got the Golden Lie. Even having all weapon in my inventory, equipping AND using each of them, still no achievement.
I am running a 3rd playthrough for the final ending, so when I get to alodoggo I’ll get another weapon and see if it pops. I’ll edit this comment if it does incase anyone else has the same problem. So my advice for now if have ALL 10 weapons in your inventory before you get the final weapon!

Edit: so at the Cathedral and purchased the first 3 weapons from Aladoro and still no achievement. Looks like I’ll have to get all of them again and hope for the best.

The main criteria for obtaining a golden nose:
1. Lie the entire passage, even at the final boss. If you make a mistake more than once, there is a chance that the weapon will ultimately not be available
2. After the final boss, give Japetto the heart and DO NOT start a new game +
3. Listen to all available records in full
4. We leave Krat and return again - the nose in the picture must be accessible for obtaining

It's better to do it on the second playthrough, when there are a lot of records. In the first playthrough, we don’t give up our hearts and kill the puppet, so that on the second playthrough, when you meet Alidoro, you can get the puppet’s weapon from him

I was given the opportunity to take the Golden Lie after killing Laxasia and listening to Antonia's record. I haven't spoken to Sofia. Immediately after killing Laxasia, he returned to the Hotel. I found out about Antonia. I ran to Geppetto's room. The Golden Lie could not be taken. He picked up Antonia's record. I went and listened. This was my 9th record. Geppetto returned to the room and the Golden Lie could already be broken off. When I listened to Antonia’s record, I saw the inscription “Your heart is beating” for the second time. The first time I saw this inscription was when I talked to the end with Arlecchino.

They also say here that you should strive to lie almost everywhere. I Lied 7 times, told the Truth 5 times. That is, there is almost a 50/50 ratio of elections. That didn't stop me from picking up The Golden Lie.

What I had done by the time I could take the Golden Lie:
* False - 7 times. True - 5 times.
* Laxasia was killed.
* I did not speak to Sophia after killing Laxasia and did not advance the plot further.
* Listened to 9 records.
* Collected 16 gestures. The 17th, last one, will be given by Sofia later.
* Showed 4 gestures to a broken puppet with a burning heart in the swamps.
* Found all 6 crypto vessels and received rewards.
* Visited all 5 doors of the Riddler.

My picks ( in bold ) by the time I received the Golden Lie.

Got a golden nose on my first playthrough before Simon Manus. I always lied and listened to all the records available in the first playthrough.

First playthrough: lied all the way; Eugene told the truth about his brother to close the quest; after meeting with Arlecchino, he rushed to Venigni to close his quest; given a nose. I listened to the records as I learned, I collected about 9 of them. I have not yet reached Laxasia, and especially Manus.

I was able to get the Golden Lie after killing Manus, before the cut-scene with Gepetto, returned to the hotel and was able to break off the nose from the painting.
