How to unlock the Fallen Archbishop achievement in Lies of P - Definitive Guide
Fallen Archbishop Andreus is a difficult boss to overcome. The fight is divided into 2 phases with the second phase adding increased difficulty. If you are planning to use a specter, don’t waste materials on it until after you can reach phase 2 on your own and lower the boss’s health by at least 25%. Otherwise, you will waste a lot of materials. Any fire attacks will add bonus damage against the Archbishop.
If you have a Fire Abrasive and you have enough health to finish off the boss, go ahead and use it for the final burn down. These are hard to come by prior to this fight, so only do so if you think you will defeat the Archbishop.
Gear Setup
What gear you bring to the fight is entirely up to you and should match the attributes you have leveled up. Here is the setup that was used in making this guide:- Weapon: Greatsword of Fate Blade +4 & Big Pipe Wrench Handle
- Legion Arm: Flamberge
- Amulets: Life & Carrier’s
- Frame: LADA F150
- Converter: Workshop Union Standard Corrosion Resistance
- Cartridge: Belford Break
- Liner: Workshop Union Certified
Phase 1
During the first phase, you will fight the Fallen Archbishop in his shell which has the following attacks. If you manage to stagger the boss, the weak point is situated to the right of the 1st head.- 2 Tongue Lashes: Guard when the Archbishop lashes his tongue.
- 3-Hit Combo: When the right arm swipes, it will be followed by a right slam, and a left swipe, guard then counter after the 3rd strike.
- 2-Hit Combo: If the boss slams his right arm down, it will be followed by a left swipe, guard and counter after the 2nd strike.
- Slide: When the Archbishop sits down, he will slide around, hold guard to mitigate damage.
- Stand & Slam: If you see the Archbishop stand up, run away. He will usually move forward a bit before slamming down causing AoE damage.
Phase 2
At the start of phase 2, use your grindstone () to apply fire ( + ) to increase damage against the Archbishop. Avoid going anywhere near the 2nd head and don’t target lock on the boss unless you’re attacking the 1st head. New attacks to watch for (excluding the 2nd head which should be avoided and ignored):- Crawl: Occasionally, the boss will crawl toward you which can be blocked or dodged.
- Scream & Slide: When the Archbishop screams, he will slide around the area. Hold guard to mitigate damage or dodge/run out if you see it coming.
- Blue Energy Discharge: If you see the boss absorbing blue energy, immediately run away and to the side of him. The blue energy discharge does massive damage and the process will open the boss up for a few free hits when it finishes.
If you have a Fire Abrasive and you have enough health to finish off the boss, go ahead and use it for the final burn down. These are hard to come by prior to this fight, so only do so if you think you will defeat the Archbishop.

Absolute horrible boss. It took me 55 times, but hang in there. Maybe overlevel yourself a little bit by grinding kills at easier area's. I threw all my bombs and throwables at the last 1/5 of his health in the 2d phase. Better be safe than sorry!

Tried him 40+ times before 1.2 and couldn't get him below 1/3 remaining in phase 2. After 1.2, rolled right over him first try. All glory to the nerfbat!

Story-related and unmissable.
Andreus is pretty much an arsehole. He was an archbishop, and now he's a giant slug monster. With arms. The first phase of the fight is actually quite easy. He has some arm-swiping attacks, a tongue-lashing attack, a body slam, and a glowing-red stomp. All of these are quite easy to learn to parry, and his patterns are very predictable. He is also not fond of fire, so use the Flamberge Legion Arm to spew some flames or set your blade alight with a Grindstone.
The second phase is slightly trickier, because you have to deal with the front of the slug and the back. Andreus’s more human body pokes out the back of the giant slug and whips through the air to strike at who. These attacks are best blocked or dodged. Focus on doing damage to the front of the slug monster, as his attacks don’t change all that much from the first phase.

For anyone who has problems with the boss, I advise you to go through it with the Salamander dagger, upgraded to at least +2 (by this point you should already have it), due to its low weight and extremely high mobility and fighting style with fire damage (the boss is slowly frying) - it is the perfect weapon to shut up the Archbishop.
Phase 1 - the boss's attacks are dynamic, can be parried or through dodges. When the boss's bar is highlighted in white, we perform an enhanced blow and the boss will stand for a crit. In total, during both phases you can drop it 4 times per crit strike.
In phase 2, when the tail-archbishop appears, I advise you to throw fire or lightning cocktails at him before he reaches you, until he reaches you you can remove one third of his HP.

If you use the clock in the second phase (an item for returning to the fire), then when you enter the boss’s room, he will already be in the second phase, and you will have a full supply of Hilocks and a fresh ghost

My watch only worked when the boss attacked the ghost. When switched to me, the watch could not be used. Without a ghost, it definitely won't work.
