How to unlock the Optican achievement in Life Is Strange - Definitive Guide

This achievement is earned for finding optional photo #9. If missed on the first run, you can "Play Episodes" and select specific parts of the Episode in order to find the missing optional photos through collectibles mode. The following collectible is described and can be seen below:
[6:10] - Optional Photo #9
To the right of the diner, you find an alley with a homeless woman. Just before her, you'll see some trash cans, with a dead bird on the ground and a circle of ants around it. Take a picture of this.

Collecting all 10 photos will also reward you with the following achievement:

Right after taking Photo #8, turn around and go into the alley on your right. You will see a dead bird surrounded by ants, take photo #9.

From the main menu select 'Play Episodes' and then 'Episode 3'.

Find and highlight 'Diner' and then 'Play this chapter in collectible mode'.

Follow the video and press (X) to take the photo.

In the Diner chapter, walk along the front of the diner. Pass the doors (and the trucker standing by the wall), and take a left to go around the side of the diner. Look down beside the row of plants on the left for this unmissable photo opportunity.

Any of the "optional photo" trophies can be easily obtained after finishing the episode by using chapter select and playing again in photo mode.

After Photo #8, walk around to the right side of the diner and look at the dead bird on the ground with the ants circling it. You will be prompted to take a photo.

Directly after taking the last picture, go to the right side of the diner and take a picture of the bird on the ground with a swarm of ants around it.
