There are a total of 10 Optional Photos that you will need to find in order to obtain this. You can "Play Episodes" and select specific parts of the Episode in order to find the missing optional photos through collectibles mode. There is also a counter on this screen to help you figure it out.

I and many others have been waiting since the night it came out for it to unlock. I read that someone that had this similar problem from a previous episode had to wait 2 weeks for it to unlock

I'd be ok with waiting 2 weeks if it did unlock. I'm honestly not sure it will though as it just says "locked". Sent the devs a message on Twitter but as usual, no reply. Really don't want to replay the episode right now either.

Hey folks, official Life is Strange Community Manager here (apologies that my Gamertag isn't my regular tag - Inexorabilis)

Microsoft wants to further investigate the Shutterbug issue whereby people fulfill all criteria for it but it doesn't pop - we (DONTNOD/Square Enix) have an idea what the issue 'might' be, but Microsoft can't implement a solution without more evidence.

So, please visit this link on Xbox live (http://xbx.lv/achsticky), scroll down the bottom of the page and click on 'Take our Survey'. With the information you provide there, Microsoft may hopefully be able to confirm the issue and resolve it on their side.

Still no fix for this? The survey seems rather useless...

I too think it is an issue with xbox. I recently had a similar problem in Handsome collection...achievements started randomly showing up that I was supposed to unlock 2 days ago. So I am hoping this one randomly unlocks tomorrow.

I've Apparently encountered the Shutter-"BUG" with this Achievement it would not unlock for me at all ive tried another save and did all 10 photos and it would not pop then i deleted it off my Xbox one and my saved data, then re-downloaded the game and episodes played episode 4 again did all 10 photos still would not pop so i went into collectible mode and tried to pry the achievement again by taking the moon and skeleton pics still nothing and then 10 minutes ago got done with Xbox support and did their trouble shooting regime and it still would not work and got a polite we cant do anything more to help and gave me a link to true achievements where i hope to get some help with this bug here

i did too with episode 2 but i went into collectible mode and took the same photo 20 times and it unlocked but this time it wont budge but thanks for giving me some hope

I have the same issue too. Not gonna stress about it too much until the 5th episode comes out. Hopefully doing something in ep 5 will unlock this.

This happened to me last night :( it doesn't even say unlocking. I'm currently playing on a new save. I'm about to erase the whole gamesave. Cloud and console and restart :(

it is still broken but the project manager is looking into it i have contacted scott @scottblows on twitter a few times during episode 4 and now episode 5 which still has no update for episode 4 but he says its now his full concern to fix now. im still tweeking around with things in game in hopes to unstick this bug ill keep all of you updated when i can figure this out

So my first playthrough of episode 4, I noticed photos 7-9 never popped a notification, but under achievements showed 'Done...Unlocking". Sure enough when I took photo 10 of the two moons I unlocked optional #10 photo but no shutterbug. I completed the episode and went back into collectible mode, starting at # 7, the bird at the fence at the old barn. Sure enough as soon as I took it Shutterbug popped and so did optional photo 7. I finished 8, the owl and 9 the kid graffiti which also popped instantly. Hope this helps someone.

I may have gotten luck, ep4 photo 9 was locked along with shutter bug and ep 5 photo 4 as well. But just incase it wasn't luck here's what I did.

1. Restarted my xbox
2. Selected episode 4 and the area with photo 9(pool party) and selected collectible mode.
3. Retook photo 10(the 2 moons) and that unlocked shutter bug(no clue why)
4. Retook the urinal graffiti (photo 9) and that unlocked

Was feeling really lucky at this point so I went to episode 5 and did the same thing to get my missing photo there. It worked.

No clue if I was lucky or was late to the party and they kinda patched it either way I figured it wouldn't hurt to post

Gave it another try. Retook all pictures and waited about 10 mins. NOTHING... Hate this so much wow.. My only idea is trying it again on another Xbox. Guess i never get this achievement.

Ok back with a update.
I am playing GTA right now.
While looking for something in my phone, it just unlocked.
(Again, i didn't even played LiS)
And no, as i looked at the achievement in my Xbox, ist said still locker)
I can totally not say what triggered it since i didnt even played it.
Maybe it unlocks for any other too, while playing another game. Its like total random.

lol. I think the general consensus is that you just have to wait for it to unlock on its own. You are definitely not alone with this...I have seen numerous people with the problem, including me. Its happened to other in past episodes, someone reported having to wait 2 weeks for past bugged achievements to unlock

I've the same troubles and tried several things... I played Ep 4 twice (as all episodes), replayed in collectible mode having all 10 photos in two savegames now, replayed both again in collectible mode,.... nothing... contacted square-enix ... they where less then helpfull ... only useable info was the link to:

1 - Window - 00:14
The first photo can be taken 30-40 mins. into the game. You take a photo of Chloe sitting at her desk.

2 - Nest with Eggs - 00:43
Optional photo 2 can be taken in the garage right after you took photo number 1. The story will lead you into the garage where you can see a nest hidden away in the back on the left side. Look at the nest first, then remove the plank and you can take the photo.

3 - Pile of Stones - 01:47
Go straight ahead after you get to the dorm area. The pile of stones for photo 3 is at the end of the walkway on the left side.

4 - Squirrels - 02:31
Continue on from photo 3 you took in the dorm area and walk over to samuel who is sitting on a bench. Start talking to him and choose to talk about animals first and then about squirrels. After the 2 squirrels come over, grab the food that is sitting next to Samuel and give it to the squirrel on the walkway. It will run to the other squirrel and you can take your photo.

5 - Footprints - 04:35
Get inside the dorm building and take a right to see the footprints outside the window.

6 - Whale - 05:23
Photo 6 can be found on the beach. Walk over to the right to see a couple of dead whales. Take of photo of the one in the middle.

7 - Bird and Windmill - 06:00
When you arrive at the barn, go straight to the fence on the left where the windmill is. Take a photo of the bird that is sitting on that fence. The bird flies away pretty quickly, so you might have to rewind time to get the shot.

8 - Owl - 06:43
After you enter the barn, find the hidden hatch. You can feel the controller rumbling when you step onto it. First you have to discover it and then interact with it again to be able to climb up. Once you're up, go to the end of the small walkway and take a picture of the owl that is sitting in the back.

9 - Skeleton Graffiti - 08:43
Once you arrive at the party, go straight ahead and turn right to get to the VIP section. Go into the bathroom next to it and take a photo of the guy standing in front of the skeleton graffiti. You have to look at it from the right angle to get the shot.

10 - Double Moon - 09:38
The last photo can be taken right next to the entrance of the party. So if you come from the skeleton graffiti photo, go back to where you entered the party. Look up and position yourself so that you can see two moons through the upper windows.

Well, it's still very much bugged, I havent yet unlocked it (just met the requirements), so there must be some sync issue or something that eventually manages to unlock after some time. We shall see.

If you miss any pictures during the story, you can load various areas in "collectible mode" and get them this way without affecting any of your story choices or having to start a new play through.
