How to unlock the Visionary achievement in Life Is Strange - Definitive Guide

There are a total of 10 Optional Photos that you will need to find in order to obtain this. You can "Play Episodes" and select specific parts of the Episode in order to find the missing optional photos through collectibles mode. There is also a counter on this screen to help you figure it out.

The optional collectible locations can be seen below:

Also, you can get this across multiple save files. I started two games to choose different options and got half the photos on each.

Thanks Maka for once again a great guide, and thanks angelsk for confirming that. I started the game with the trial and the first photo didn't pop so I was about to restart all the way from the dorms.

This achievement failed to unlock for me, I had all photos taken in the journal but two achievement still claimed to be locked.

If this happens for you:
Restart the relevant section for the locked achievements in collector mode.
Take the photo(s) again
Check your journal and the achievement should unlock

Repeat for any locked achievements that you need and this will pop.

This may or may not be related to using the trial before buying the game.

I had to do a hard restart of my console for it to unlock; didn't play the trial.

I played the trial if it makes a difference, and it was after retaking the squirrel photo that it unlocked for me.

There are a number of opportunities to take photos through the episode that are not necessary for the story progression.

Follow the video below of me taking the photos. There is the possibility that taking these photos can affect future episodes.

All the photos can be got as you play the episode through and they pop up in order during the game. Some are highly missable though.

Once you take all 10 optional photos, this trophy will unlock. If you have trouble finding any of the option photo locations, or prefer videos, check out this excellent guide (credit to Maka) for a visual walkthrough of each optional photo location.

After taking all ten photos you will receive this achievement as well. If you miss any pictures during the story, you can load various areas in "collectible mode" and get them this way without affecting any of your story choices or having to start a new play through. You can check your progress at any time by hitting the Back button and going to the third tab. I only found this after getting the first collectible, but as you can see below, the ones in black and white show hints of what to look out for in finding the other photo ops.

In the menu in the section of these photos, in place of each one there is a picture that shows the things that need to be photographed, which makes it much easier to find them in the game.

In addition, all photos are arranged in order from left to right. Plus, all photos do not have to be on one save.
