How to unlock the Born Lucky achievement in Lightyear Frontier - Definitive Guide
Rare animals hatch as a result of having a Yellow lens placed in the Egg Incubator, leading to a 5% chance for a rare animal. Rare animals are a slightly different colour to the regular animals (akin to Shiny Pokemon) and should be fairly easy to spot when they do hatch.
The most efficient way to get this is to build a bunch of Egg Incubators (I had 10) and set a bunch of eggs to all hatch at once. Ratscallions and Croblings are the easiest, taking only one day to hatch. After one nights rest and with all the eggs ready to go, hatch all of them and check for any rares. If there are none, quit and reload without saving, then hatch the eggs again to get a new batch of 10 to check. Repeat as necessary until you get the 5 you need.
EDIT: Courtesy of Lucylu1983 in the comments, you can join a players world who has the 5 rare animals and get them that way, providing that the host puts the animals in the Sanctuary, and the person needing the achievement takes them out.

You need to put all the pets in your sanctuary
BUT
The person who needs the achievement HAS to be the one who takes them out after the person who takes them out the achievement will pop

Wish I knew this before farming and hatching hundreds of eggs 🤣

Can't belive this is the best way to get those. It's a terrible achievement, promotes a painful process of saving and reloading hundreds of times. This alone has already made this game go from something I enjoyed to a game I now hate.
The entire farm animal part of this DLC is atrocious to be honest.
Ok, did you REALLY get a rare Crobling this way or are you just guessing it's the same for every animal? Because it took like 20 tries and I got a Ratscallion, but I'm already over 100 tries and not a single rare Crobling doing the same thing.
Also, how do I get rid of those unwanted animals?
