Can be done with just one animal. Make sure that there is plenty of food and water in both the troughs so the pet isn’t angry (if this doesn’t mean anything I will edit the guide). Wait till it says “Noon” in the top right and then go to sleep. Wait till morning moves to noon again once you have woken up and repeat till the achievement pops. Took me about 45mins to an hour
