How to unlock the An Honest Day's Work achievement in Like a Dragon: Ishin! - Definitive Guide
For this achievement, you'll need to grow AND harvest 10 different types of vegetable crops from a tilling plot of farmland set outside of Haruka's house. You'll be introduced to this as part of the Another Life optional side story quest in Chapter 4.
Before starting on planting, you should expand on several aspects of your farm that can be acquired through spending Virtue. The Virtue exchange store can be accessed from the mini-shrine (as well as all the shrines set throughout Kyo) set at the left of the exit that would bring you back to Kyo (at the south Fushimi docks where the boat that brings you to Haruka's house can be accessed.) Use the buttons to go to the Farm category, and spend as much Virtue as you can to the max tiers covering Farm Expansion (where you can expand your farmland from its default 5x2 grid to the max of 5x10), Farm Level (where you can bolster the cultivation speed of your crops as much as 150%, as well as bolster more favorable odds of greater quantities of one unit of crops that would constitute a good harvest) and most importantly, unlock new types of vegetables you can plant. There are 17 unlockable crops available, on top of the five breeds you start out with (Carrot, Daikon, Potato, Cucumber, and Spinach). The cost of Virtue for unlocking each crop type is overall pretty cheap, with over half costing only in the three-figure range, and only one in the five figures. Here's the total cost for the aforementioned upgrades below
Farm Expansion (Level 1>Level 2>Level 3>Max) 16,000
Farm (Level 2>Level 3>Level 4>Level 5) 25,500
Vegetable crop unlock prices (Green Thumb)
Sweer Potatoes 100
Green Onions 150
Ginger 150
Onions 150
Eggplant 200
Turnips 200
Broad Beans 250
Budrock Root 250
Hot Peppers 300
Garlic 400
Bok Choy 500
Pumpkins 600
Tomatoes 1,000
Cabbage 1,500
Strawberries 1,500
Taro 3,000
Ginseng 10,000
So to cover the 10 different crops to unlock the achievement while saving up on Virtue, you only have to spend 750 on the first five unlockable crops listed. But before planting, make sure to also acquire Fertilizers that you can scatter on your farmland and boost the cultivation speed of your crops even quicker. They can be acquired from either the Tasshado Pharmacy in Fushimi or from the Manure Merchant who'll jot side streets as well as on Shijo Street in Rakunai. Each unit of Fertilizer costs 500 mon in both places. Keep at least 10 Inventory slots (if you're overall capacity is maxed out) to stock up, and then hit up one of the Jizo prayer statues or shrines to store them, knowing you can retrieve them from the Jizo statue (located at the right of the exit to Kyo) back at Haruka's house. Now to the exciting part!
Back at Haruka's, go up to the wooden shed that has a couple of digging hoes sheltered underneath. Press upon the prompt coming on-screen that will bring you to the Farm Management menu. Press on Farming Plan to go onto the planting grid, navigate with or around any open 1x1 unit, then press to get the list of available crops and scroll down to find the one you want to plant. Be sure to take into account the Requied Space as well as the Cultivation Speed that's listed under the vegetable crop highlighted at the upper left portion of the screen. Fill out the grid with as many different sets of crops as you can, and before exiting the Farm Management menu, scroll down to Scatter Manure, press (make sure you have at least one Fertilizer in your Inventory) to get a prompt to scatter Fertilizer, and select Yes. You'll only be allowed to scatter once, but you can reset by entering Haruka's house and come back out to access the shed and scatter more Fertilizer. Look for the timers at the top left corners for all the vegetable crops currently placed, they'll be ready to harvest when the timers are fully red and transform to green checkmarks. You can harvest either on the checkmarked crops in the Farm Management screen or free explore around the farmland, pressing upon getting the prompt on-screen when going over a flashing fully grown crop. You'll get the achievement once you harvest the 10th different crop species. (Note: Crops that get harvested are automatically replanted rather than removed from the grid. Use when your highlight cursor is on a vegetable currently in the planted grid to delete them.)

This won't be available until Chapter 4. You'll come across a house
where you have a small garden. You'll need to use Virtue to buy more plants, as you don't start with enough kinds.
The achievement won't unlock until you actually harvest the 10th kind of plant
