How to unlock the Got My Style achievement in Lips - Definitive Guide

The easiest way is to just link up your mp3-player through the USB, and play the shortest song on it 10 times.
If you get bored of the same song, just take a new, but you don't have to.

You don't even have to sing. Just sit through the 10 and it will pop.

Make sure you are using the Party Classics disc, even if you have got it but are playing another disc the achievement won't work. I found this out the hard way with the No 1 Hits disc in the drive.

Go the Freestyle option and choose a song from usb stick, media centre or even your xbox hard drive if you have some mp3/acc music on there.

It doesn't matter if you do the same track ten times, or do ten different ones and it doesn't matter if the track is only short.

I finally go this by selecting an intro track from an album, which was only about 40 seconds long and playing it thought several times til this popped.

You have to make sure you go through the whole track you can't select "end track" like you can with some other acheivements such as the one for saving and watching your performances.

If you follow this you should have it in no time. There is no skill involved really. You don't even need to sing as long as you go through this.

Good write up - you can make this really quick if you use a really short MP3 (but not too short or the game will say the file is corrupt). I used this file: http://www.soundjay.com/transportation/car-ignition-2.mp3 which is 11 seconds long.

I used the "Item catch" sound from a Zelda OST (5 sec) and it worked perfectly !

Thanks :)

Lol! I could just record myself singing "hello" and re-sing that. I can't tell you how many hours I've worked on this achievement and failed it. Very frustration g. Thank you so much for the tip. I'm bound to get this tomorrow! (too bad we can't use this trick on the duet achievement...)

First of all, you can get this achievement in any game released after Party Classics (including this game itself, of course). I personally did this in I Love the 80s. I don't own Party Classics and that game has never been launched from my system. I heard some people saying you can have achievements from one of the games as long as you have launched it at least once - not true. I only have the original Lips and I Love the 80s and I can get all but three achievements of all four games. Those three achievements require Party Classics as pointed out in their description.

For this achievement I've downloaded a 1-second track from The Freesound Project (www.freesound.org), it was a phone dial. I then played this song in Freestyle. It's possible to repeat the song from the menu which comes right after the song is over (by pressing start button on the controller), so it would be even faster. It took me, well, 1-2 minutes to get the achievement (loading times took the biggest chunk of that time).

If you do what I did, this will be one of the easiest and fastest achievements you've ever accomplished.

Ditto. I can't tell ya how many times I've gone for this achievement. I'm going to wait for my I love the 80s to ship from the UK and see if that will "de-bug" it. I'm loathe to erase anything because I'm close to my 150K stars and have over 60 trophies (many of which have been beaten over time and wouldn't remain if it weren't for my personal data.) I know I could get my stars back with "alternative" methods but this is one game I actually enjoy so Im just happy to keep on. I'll update again if the cheevo pops, Stoiss.
