How to unlock the Two Cool achievement in Lips - Definitive Guide

Unless you have sussed the co-op harmonising, this can be a nightmare to get via on-disc songs. I found a great song to do this on was DLC track "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton, which does not include the harmonising, has alternate lines, and duet lines with the exact same pitch.

Using this song, a single player could get this by singing the song in to two mics at the same time. The following songs are some suggestions that have similar vocal patterns and can be done solo with 2 mics:

- Vanessa Carlton: "A Thousand Miles" (DLC, 160MSP)
- James Blunt: "You're Beautiful" (Lips: PC)
- Lips: "Party Classics Song Medley" (DLC, Free)
- Nancy Sinatra: "These Boots Are Made for Walking" (Lips: PC)
- Sheryl Crow: "Soak Up the Sun" (Lips, US & EU Versions Only)
- R.E.M.: "The One I Love" (Lips, US Only)
- 3 Doors Down: "Kryptonite" (DLC, 160MSP)
- Cheap Trick: "I Want You To Want Me" (DLC, 160MSP)
- Opus: "Live is Life" (Lips: PC)
- Lady Gaga - "Paparazzi" (DLC, 160MSP)
- Gloria Gaynor: "I Will Survive" (Lips: PC)

(Please post any tracks you feel should be added to this list).

Another solution I have seen suggested is to download the free track "Lips: Party Classics Song Medley" - this includes 2-4 line snippets of a few of the songs on the disc, and is very easy to 100% on. Again, this could be done 1 player by singing in to both mics simultaneously.

After trying the free DLC medley song with out much success (YMCA just didnt work for me), I got the achievement on my first play through of 'a thousand miles' so as far as im concerned it is by far the easiest song for this achievement.

crewdy add the song 'beautiful' by 'james blunt ' into your guide this can be sung into both mics. Very easy, no dlc required

Nancy Sinatra "These Boots Are Made for Walking" is easy to do this achievement with a single player. It's short and almost flat all the song. There are 4 pages of talking part. If you can't do well in these 4 pages just turn your TV louder and let it sing for you. It works in these pages (but will fail in some singing pages, you have to sing by yourself!)

Soak up the Sun - Sheryl Crow from the first Lips disc works too.

Another possibility is using the song The one I love, by REM, from the first LIPS game.

You can try "I will survive", "Life is live", "Paparazzi" (DLC), or also "You're beautiful" - single with 2 mics ; I didn't succeed this acchievement with those songs but I was almost to that !
I tried with "Soak up the sun" and I succeeded with my first try ^^

I got this on "She Drives Me Crazy" by Fine Young Cannibals (from Number One Hits) singing into both mics. Fairly simple, repetitive song in a similar vein to The One I Love, and the duet just alternates lines with both singing the same line for the chorus, no harmonizing at all.

I got this one finally on "You're beautiful" by James Blunt after the 20th try or so and this was my very last achievement for this game :)

First I had serious problems to get my voice so high but after changing down an octave it worked almost like a charm.

I got this with Mad World by Tears for Fears. (DLC) It's rather short and got easy to remember chorus and verses. As long you're able to hold a long note this is quite easy.

Wasted 160 MSP on "A Thousand Miles", too hard for my voice and it isn't even good. Got the achievement with Depeche Mode "Personal Jesus", very easy, I recommend it for male singers.

:'( It's been months since I've started trying to get this little bastard, and it remains unreachable...The closest I've ever been was on "A Thousand Miles" (like most players here), but I'm not sure I always make mistakes, sometimes I can't even notice a "Good" (you know, 2nd best rating)...but still no achievement. The medley is also a pain for me because of YMCA : why is this so hard to sing ? It is not a great performance...

@sarahoi, agree, stupid speaking part doesn't come up "cool" even when I hit every note, it's ridiculous!

Oh, and I too recommend "I will survive" for this achievement. Be aware that some pages seem to carry, so if you don't see "cool" come up every time don't panic, I had 3 pages it didn't give me any page rank and I still popped it, only if you see "good" or "ok" should you restart.

The German Song "Ich bin ich" by Rosenstolz on "Deutsche Partykaller" is also singable for one person

But I still don't have this achievement. Does anyone know if you can get it by singing a short version of the songs?

@MetalheadMatt69: I started the Lips game with the "I Love the 80s" disc. Then I chose the song "In Bloom" from Nirvana and was promted to insert the first Lips disc. When the song was finished I was prompted to insert the 80s disc again and the achievement popped. It took me about 2-3 attempts.

I just got this on "In Bloom" too... for those who want to use a song on the original Lips disc for this achievement, the key is (somewhat counter-intuitively) to change the View filter on the song selection page using X from "All" to "My Music", and it should get rid of the DLC and add the original 40 Lips songs back onto the page for you to select. Then swap discs as prompted as per DexterKnowsBest's instructions.

Anyone else having the issue where despite being the same single voice singing into both mics and them both being near enough to one's mouth one comes up "cool" and the other just "good"? Any tips on fixing that? Thanks...

Also, it is not possible to use "Paparazzi" for this achievement - there are several lines in every chorus where the singer taking the backing melody has a slightly higher pitch, and you can't match those two with the same voice at the same time - it just isn't possible. It's barely possible to hear that the second line is different, which can make it tough unless you know the song really well, but it is.
