How to unlock the Zed’s Dead, Baby, Zed’s Dead achievement in Lollipop Chainsaw - Definitive Guide

I did this on Hard but I think the strategy is sound (ha!) for all difficulties.
Zed is a very loud and very slippery rocker who loves to sucker punch you and pound you with solid words. Not to mention cut you with his balls.
When you first meet him after dodging through the obstacle course of the junkyard, he begins with a loud statement that shouldn't be repeated in front of young ears. ;p His words are giant letters that will fly at you once formed. Press B to dodge once they fly and you should be fine.
Press B to dodge his dashes and Y to chainsaw strike from the air at him. You will either stop him or Zed will pause at times to charge up at which you should Y strike him a few hits before backing away to let him dash again.
If you see a red glowing circle on the floor, avoid it. That means Zed is in the air ready to ground pound. Strike him after he comes down.
Once you get his lifebar down, you'll be prompted to Finish him. Keep dodging his attacks and movements until you can strike one more blow.
The scene then changes to a prompt for LS down and continuous pressing of Y. Follow to cut straight down Zed's ugly mug.
A very satisfying split of face later and lo and behold, Zed's not defeated. He laughs off your cut and squishes himself back together!
Now the real fun begins. The stage suddenly spawns columns of speakers and Zed will jump to one end and charge up some razor orange discs that will fly at you. If you're going for the Watch Out For The Balls achievement, don't bother here. It's later that they count.
Instead, follow Nick's directions. He tells you to "smash that speaker stand!". I understood smashing but I didn't realize I had to follow Zed too (that's thanks to a guide) so the speakers ended up respawning.
The correct way is to smash the middle 2 columns of 3 and then strike the one Zed is standing on. He'll jump to the other end where you can hit that one and he'll jump again. Keep following and striking speakers out from under him until he jumps away and produces a giant speaker smack dab in the middle of the stage.
Here you are prompted to use your chainsaw. Sure, follow the directions but remember to keep an eye for Zed. You can and must interrupt your cutting to dodge Zed's words from above and personal melee attacks (yes, he jumps down sometimes). Keep this up until the speaker is cut through, press X as prompted to bring it down.
Hit him to chainsaw him horizontally this time. And still Zed won't fall. (Though he does say "it hurts a little")
Now it's back to how the fight began, sort of. Zed will still dash and occasionally spit words. But now he'll start generating and throwing 2 razor balls. Whenever he prepares, you'll see the screen graying and fizzing like static and once he throws, if the balls are a threat, time will slow and you have time to press B to dodge. Dodge Zed's subsequent attacks (though sometimes he just headbangs in place) and keep near him until you see the scene shift to center on Juliet with a B prompt as the balls return. Press B and Juliet will dodge, Zed will be hit by his own balls, and he'll be stunned for a few seconds. (Or better advice, just mash B while you're near him. ;p)
Once stunned, you can hit Zed a few times before he comes to. Or since the balls don't hurt Zed you can wait and have him charge up again. Do this process 15 times to get the Watch Out For The Balls achievement before moving on. ;)
Now start hitting him whenever you get the chance. Repeating the dodging process for the razor energy balls.
Once his life bar is depleted and the Finish appears, Zed will start flinging words out like crazy. Dodge through this word hurricane to Zed and hit him one last time. This time, duke it out with him by cutting down vertically again, cut off his hand and let him scream to collapse.
Congratulations! You just defeated your first zombie punk rocker / word spewer. ;p

Pretty basic boss fight. I'm gonna sum this up a bit shorter than the previous guide, cause it's quite unneccesarily long.
The first stage is a basic fight. Just keep dodging and hitting him, then when it says "Finish Him" get up close and hit Y to trigger the finishing move (which is similar to sawing open doors).
The second stage involves him jumping between various speakers, and Nick tells you to destroy them. Don't be concerned that he keeps restoring them, just keep taking them out and eventually he stops. He will then pop up on a bigger one which you will have to do another door-cutting style minigame thing on. However, you will get attacked during this one, so don't be afraid to jump away and come back to it.
The final stage is where you will get the 'Watch Out For The Balls' achievement. Stay relatively close to Zed, while dodging his attacks... when he fires off the two energy balls, dodge them on the way out to keep from getting hurt... then when they come back you'll be prompted to hit B to dodge them again and if you do, they hit Zed and stun him. This is the best time to attack him, but if you want the other achievement, don't do that, as you'll probably be able to kill him in less than 15 dodges, and thus won't get the achievement. Just keep dodging til that one pops, then start swinging your chainsaw once you stun him. Another finishing move mini-game (which will involve having to dodge more thrown wording) and you're done!

First Stage- Easy stage. All you need to do is hit him with regular attacks, try to make sure you dodge his lunge attack, which can do quite a bit of damage. You don't want to waste lollipops here. Hit Y and press the buttons on screen to finish this stage.
Second Stage- This is where I had a little trouble. You must destroy every speaker, the way I found this easiest is to use the downward attack, press B, then A in the air. This attack can destroy multiple speakers, as opposed to usually 1, or stacks, with regular attacks. This is a good point in the game to also pick up "Accidental Vandalism"

After you destroy the speakers, he drops a much larger speaker. You have to use the Left stick, and the other buttons that appear on screen to saw through the speaker. The speaker will break, and this will bring you to the next stage.
Third Stage- I did this easily by almost constantly pressing B to evade his attacks, then rushing in. He dies quickly during this stage. You may want to slow this part down, he throws electric balls at you, which can be countered. If you counter this attack 15 times, you'll pick up "Watch Out For The Balls"
The Watch Out For The Balls achievement in Lollipop Chainsaw worth 20 pointsDodge & Counter Zed's Electric Balls 15 times.
The Finishing part to this stage involves dodging giant letters, which can easily be done by jumping forward to him, and moving left and right, dodging the letters being thrown towards you. You will have to do the Left stick mini-game again, but this time is the last for this boss.

Stage 1's final boss, Zed. He's a punk rocker that loves to swear, and this is a form of attack on your way to him too. The boss itself comes with three phases. Each phase is sectioned off by Juliet running her chainsaw through the boss in different directions.
Phase 1: His start will have him either dashing around in a semi-circle and then coming in for a lunge; dashing back and forth before lunging; or jumping up and then plummeting down. He also tends to interrupt combos by spinning his mic stand, but you can avoid that by walking around and then hitting him. This is the simplest round of the fight, where you're just doing enough damage to clear his health bar out. Once you do so, it will temporarily refill with the words Finish Him! lighting up in the upper middle part of the screen. Chainsaw swing on him with Triangle or Cross to initiate the phase shift where you must press your left stick in a specific direction (down) and press Triangle repeatedly.
Phase 2: This is a bit more of him trying to avoid you. He will load up tons of speakers from above and jump onto them. Run towards him and break them repeatedly, only going for the ones he's on. If you leave him idle too long while focusing on others, he will spawn more in. After you've cleared all of them, he will conjure up a larger speaker in the middle of the stage. Run up and initiate the chainsaw grind across the lower part of the speaker. He will alternate between swearing at you (which summons the slurs in a physical form that falls upon you) or he'll taunt you, the player, through the screen before trying to backstab you. Dodge either of them when prompted and then resume the grind through the speaker until it breaks. Once you destroy it, he'll be vulnerable again so slash him.
Phase 3: He'll spice up the first phase's abilities while adding a few more. He will also attempt to either push you back and throw two energy orbs/discs at you, or he'll scream and summon the discs before lunging. Either of these can be turned against Zed for another trophy from this fight as long as you are near the front of him. When the discs attempt to return, a timed prompt will appear for you to press Circle to dodge out of the way and send them back into him, stunning him. This is an opening to cause more damage than normal. Once the final strike comes up, he'll push Juliet away and surround himself with enlarged letters from YEAH. Dodge and get closer before you deliver the final blow to cut him down and finish the fight.

This trophy is story-related and cannot be missed. You will earn this trophy shortly after defeating the boss at the end of Stage 1.
Phase 1
Zed is a relatively easy boss. He'll start off the battle by circling around you before performing a guitar jab at you at the end. You can easily counter this by staying locked on to him and strafing the opposite way, wait for him to perform his jab, then attacking back with your chainsaw. He will occasionally jump to the middle of the arena, shout profanities at you, which by the way actually manifests into real actual letters that home in on you. Simply dodge out of the way to avoid damage. His other attacks consists of very simple attacks, so just move out of the way, wait till he performs them, and counter attack at the end of his combo.
Phase 2
Zed will summon speakers at this point, throwing "electric balls" at you atop of them. Destroy the speakers he's standing on and the ones scattered throughout the arena.His electric balls are simple to dodge. Once you've destroyed all of these small speakers, he'll summon one final giant speaker. Run up to it and cut it down, stopping and dodging out of the way when necessary.
Phase 3
The final phase is basically the same as Phase 1, only Zed will become more aggressive in his attacks. He'll have one addition new attack, he will fire two electric balls at you, which has a boomerang effect. Dodge out of the way when he fires it towards you, stand in front of Zed as its making its way back, then dodge out of the way so his balls hits him instead. See "Watch Out For The Balls" for additional info. Repeat your previous tactics against him, and he should go down rather quickly. Credit to omegaevolution:
