You can use the alchemy menu after building an alchemist's hut in your camp.
I had this nearly unlocked towards the end of the game as I was making resources to upgrade buildings. If you still need more, the cheapest item to produce is sticks for 6 hydrogen. You can decompose a log (which is ten sticks) into 25 hydrogen. Doing that back and forth should get you to 100 quickly.
