How to unlock the Like a boss achievement in LootLite - Definitive Guide

*sigh* First of all, this game is profoundly, astoundingly maddening for a $5 game. So, just keep that in mind if you're thinking of starting it. I did this with the mage class because the cn_LT fireball skill is extremely useful, giving you the option of a high rate-of-fire ranged attack while also using a melee weapon. Additionally, the power of that skill (albeit ranged) increases with the strength of whatever weapon you're using. Ultimately, the choice is yours if you find some other classes' skill more to your liking, but this was the one I found to be the best.

Here are some of the runes & equipment you should look out for:

Runes:
- Rune of Thunder, which protects you from the lightning strikes in the Swamp and Cursed Village levels.
- Rune of Greed, which occasionally doubles the coins you pick up.
- Rune of Strength, which increases melee weapon damage (also boosting the mage's fireball skill).
- Rune of Blocking, which gives you the ability to block otherwise unblockable fire projectiles with your attacks.
- Rune of Magic, which boosts the skill regeneration rate.
- Drawing a blank on the specific name of the rune right now, but there's a blue one that boosts your movement speed, and that always helps.

Equipment:
- Torch, low attack power, but it has mana regeneration, and shoots a slow fire projectile.
- Sword of Heroes, high attack power and has a fast, circular projectile so long as you're full health.
- Katana, high attack power, however it's one of the slowest weapons in the game for some reason, so only use it if you're comfortable with it or have no better choices.
- Backbreaker/Crystal Sword, only encountered these a handful of times, but they're some of the highest attack power weapons in the game.
- Bundle of Daggers, if you prefer an all ranged character, this is one of the best to use despite its low attack power. Wide spread, medium range, decent rate of fire, high capacity, and finally, more frequent critical hits.
- Magician's Cloak for its mana regeneration
- Pants for the increased movement speed

As far as the path I'd recommend, both the Desert and the Cursed Village absolutely suck. I'm not sure if both can be avoided; there is an alternate exit in the Volcano, but I've never been able to use it. Might only be able to on a secondary loop mode run, and might need the black jewel.

Anyway, after the first level, I went to the Dark Forest instead of the Dungeons; the latter seems much more difficult. That means the Swamp level is next. Watch out for the lightning, keep moving, enter wide areas with great caution because of the moles.

Next, you have to choose to either go to the Desert full of shooting cactuses, fast snakes, and sandworms nipping at your heels from below you every 7 seconds or so, or choose the easier Volcano level. Keep in mind that if you choose the Volcano, however, you'll likely need to face the Cursed Village after that.

I kept attempting the Cursed Village over and over, and eventually I just gave up and tried the Desert path. I actually found the Desert to be easier, but you have to use the alternative exit to Reptile Island to make the effort worthwhile, or else you'll need to go through the Cursed Village anyway. The Cursed Village not only has lightning, but ghosts that are invisible until they're right near you, mimic crates and treasure chests, and it's downright miraculous if you can make it through without getting hit.

Either way, you're going to want to keep moving (slowly as much as possible), keep your back to the wall as much as possible, and shoot your fireballs from a safe distance into pretty much every unexplored space, especially every direction you can't see walls. Beware every large, open area, because the enemies can see farther than you; they can and will either shoot or rush you from off-screen. In the Desert, you will need to be suspicious of every single cactus, because their very fast projectiles can ruin a perfectly good run in the blink of an eye.

Reptile Island is barely worth talking about, but just take it slow, and don't be afraid to retreat to corridors to funnel the hordes of gators, and keep yourself from getting swarmed. Same goes for the Desert & Cursed Village for that matter: take it slow, but keep moving and retreat to corridors if necessary. Sometimes it's best to just let the enemies come to you, so long as you're safe on all other sides.

As far as the Graveyard goes, watch out for any shaking crosses & tombstones 'cause skeletons will pop out and throw a bone at you almost immediately. The moles aren't as bad as the ones in the Swamp, but they can still be a problem if they're in an open area. Again, back to the wall and take it slow.

The Lair of Dragons, really don't need to worry too much so long as you proceed slowly, and coax the enemies to fight you one or two at a time, preferably with some cover to retreat to. The dragons' AI is pretty primitive, so you should be able to deal with them fairly easily. Try to avoid hitting the eggs if you can, because the more you break, the wider their fire breath gets.

If you can manage to do all that garbage, this being your last achievement (which is most likely) congratulations on... completing LootLite. Yaaaaay... roll

All of this is great advice, the volcano secret door can be accessed by throwing a bomb at it, even on the first run.
I’ve done it, but I think having a ranged weapon or using the Mage is the best option.
It is a wide open area with nothing to hide behind. It has the blue electric blobs and these wasp like things that are red and black, and way faster than the yellow ones. Also, if they hit you (not applicable to a no hit run) they do 2 hearts damage. It does cause you to skip the cursed village, though. I’ve only gotten to do it a handful of times since I can never find the bombs in time, or when I do I can’t activate loop mode.

Thanks for writing this and steering me clear. It looked right up my alley, a less funded archvale type piece. I have had enough fuckin' issues with glitch achievements and things not unlocking properly (or at all) to throw some extra bs on top. Thanks
