How to unlock the Ancient tool, new purpose achievement in Lords of the Fallen (2014) - Definitive Guide

This is a video showing you how to obtain the achievement on NG++ with the axe called the Between. This dropped using the Fire magic school in the DLC to defeat the Keeper. I obtained the achievement on an earlier run, so it not shown unlocking.

At NG++ any damage taken was an instakill, except fire, for this reason I have limited health, no shield and light armour for extra mobility. The key to this fight is gaining maximum damage, I used the Peacekeeper heavy attack to inflict as much damage as possible before reaching the phase transition. Only carry out the heavy attack and invoke Shift when he pounds the ground, he killed me almost every other time. The timing and distance for the attacks is important. Attack too early and too close and the ground pound will kill you, If you are too late and too far you will miss and he turn and kill you. When I was close to the transition I invoked Shift and the heavy attack of the Peacekeeper and the massive one hit almost kills him. This left a slither of health that I took down with the Between.

If you don't inflict enough damage before the Judge jumps to the balcony and then when he jumps down and regains his health from the mob. He will recover his health back to the starting value, and you will be back to the beginning. Now he attacks by sending missiles through the ground which lower your Vitality if they connect, making the fight even more difficult. Be aware the achievement did not pop for me when I used Shift on the Between for the final kill (Thanks TriRock). I used the Trinket Amulet of the Betrayer to increase the damage of the critical attacks.

Another tip is to use Power saving mode to reset the game fully, as I believe the game state is stored in memory between kills and can reduce the HP of your weapons.

The build:
Lvl 229
Weapon: Peacemaker Damage 605, Flawless Luck Rune
Weapon: Between Damage 190, Flawless Poison Rune
Shift 3/3
Str 52
Vit 11
Faith 26
End 33
Ag 8
Luck 0
Weight 8.5/75.00
Health 142
Endurance 288
Magic 156
Amulet of the Betrayer

Important note: Do not attach the rune to your Keeper weapon as the achievement did not unlock for me after defeating the end boss. However, I was able to use an offline save on my other console and right before the fight, where I used the rune on my armour and a luck rune on my weapon and it unlocked right after.

Also, I need to find a better time to shadow shank him. Instant KO above 75%

Wow so i have to play through the whole game again? :-(
I beat the game 2 times on one save (so I can start a NG++) and 1 time on another save to start a NG+.
What were they thinking? Really pissing me off.

Can I battle that enemy also in the initial cycle? When will that be possible?

This is the last enemy each playthrough before going to NG+ or NG++, you can only fight him then and its unmissable. If you want the achievement you need to pick up the weapon dropped by the Keeper after you defeat him in the DLC and use it to make the final killing blow on this boss.

Ah, thank you to make that clear to me. So, I just use the relative Weapon once that enemy is already defeated, and it works? Great!

So, I failed to meet a prerequisite to achieve a greater relatively required Weapon from The Keeper, as I did not have changed his Magic School's initial pattern before vanquishing him. While I will be doing this still in the initial Cycle, I may have no other choice than to deliver the final hit on the final Boss with this weapon: Lithic Rising (standard reward for destroying The Keeper)

If that is true, or if I find out it is, I will report back.

It works! I only hit him up to four times with Lithic Rising, once his Life was almost gone. This Xbox Achievement unlocked a bit later, but in the beginning of a video that followed after the battle.

For those having trouble with the judge either because they just find him too tough, stuck with a weapon that isn't for their build or on NG++ fear not

There is a nice cheese method for him now, recorded this the other day after seeing someone else do it, very cheap I know but after playing through the game 4 times now I think it's ok to do this laugh
Calex dEUS playing Lords of the Fallen (2014)

Edit: Fixed broken link someone reported to me.

I've not heard of any recent patches, in the TA forum a gamer reports that the glitch still works in November 2016. You should capture footage of the fight and post the video so I can see the problem.

can anyone advise me on something here. i just finished ng+ and didnt get the final blow in with the keeper weapon. i only have 3 achievements left now which is the keeper weapon, finish on cleric and use the rune on my armor (Rhogar ending). can i just start the game again and fly through on the cleric class and finish the game like that rather than playing through on ng++. also can anyone confirm that Calex dEUS video above still works

I have a question. I started this game as a warrior with brawler magic, now im in ng+ with deception magic chosen, but I have my brawler too.. so anyway, i in my infinite retardation forgot to switch to the fist weapon i got from the keeper. so now in ng+ as i chose deception magic. Do i kill judge with the str based weapon i got last time, or do i have to kill keeper again for the rogue weapon.

Its been a while since I did this @KNIGHT, as long as the last blow is with the weapon dropped by the Keeper, it should unlock.

@ JakThaRiPP3R84 kill the judge with the rogue weapon, I seem to remember that after the final boss kill on NG++ you get a check point just outside the boss arena. You can then replay the fight with any weapons you have missed in the earlier play throughs.

The Magic type set for the Keeper determines what weapon you get.
Fire - Axe - Req Faith
Magic - Polearm - Req Agility
Electric - Fists - Req Strength

None of them are very good compared to the peacemaker, so don't strain yourself too much on a certain one.

You can get the achievement for using the fire setting for the boss fight, then reload your checkpoint and change it if you want.

Just unlocked on my 3rd (last) playtrough (NG).
I played the whole DLC on my 2nd run (NG) and delivered the final blow with the fists weapon but it didn't pop out (maybe he died by poison damage :/ ).

Anyway, since the game automatically saves as soon as you defeat the Judge, I was forced to try to unlock it on my third game. It took me 5 hours to reach the final boss (incl. getting the fists from the Keeper), the "offline trick" works, all you need to do is to go offline, try to kill the boss, delete your save and log in again (it took me a while to log-in, but after 30-40 secs 3 achievements popped out smile), if you killed him using the wrong weapon you can just try again ^-^

I unlocked this on my first play-through. If you're following the walkthrough on TA, make sure you finish the DLC before entering the red portal after killing The Annihilator.

Even though I had the boss weapon suited for my build, it was far too weak to kill him. Use your best weapon and get his health 99% down and then switch to the DLC boss weapon. After killing him don't worry if the achievement doesn't unlock right away, for me it unlocked midway through the final cutscene, hope this helps.

I finished the DLC after Adyr and just before the Judge. The achievement unlocked midway through the final cutscene.

This achievement is for defeating the final boss using the weapon dropped by the DLC boss The Keeper.

The Keeper will drop 1 of 3 different weapons. The weapon he drops is dependent on what symbol is displayed at the very top of the lever that gives you the Psychological Warfare achievement.

Magic: Scalpel: polesword for agility build
Fire: Between: great axe for faith build
Lightning: Lithic Rising: fist for strength build

whichever weapon you get, use it to kill the game's final boss.

there's a glitch that makes the final boss effortless.

here's what you do:

- let the final boss kill you.
- when you respawn, cast Prayer near the boss' entrance
- enter the boss arena
- cast prayer again right away

if you did this right, the Judge should run right up to the bottom of the tower and shoot javelins trying to hit the prayer dummy at the top of the tower. Shortly he will charge straight at the wall and eventually glitch straight upwards reappearing where he spawns in the boss arena. Once he does this, he'll just stand there and won't fight back.

here's a video (ITS NOT MINE) that shows you how its done:
