How to unlock the God is dead achievement in Lords of the Fallen (2014) - Definitive Guide

The 3 Endings of Lords of The Fallen

- The secret achievement you have clicked on is for leading the humans to victory.

*As far as I can tell so far it doesn't matter what choices you make throughout the game, you always get the 3 choices at the end when you run into the blacksmith. Let me know if you believe otherwise but so far I have done 3 playthroughs and always got the same 3 choices.*

The choice is made when you are running up the winding stairs before the last boss and the game automatically takes you into a conversation with the blacksmith. Someone will have given you a rune and the choice is what to do with it.

1: Led humans to victory.
- To get this ending you should choose to put the rune in your shield or armor. Once you choose this you actually have to put it in like with all the other runes so don't just back out. If you choose the option to put the rune in your shield or armor but don't actually put it in you will not get this ending, you will get the balance ending.

2: Led the Rhogar to victory.
- To get this ending put the rune in your sword or whatever weapon you are using, and again make sure you actually put it in after you make the choice. Lastly, make sure you kill the last boss with the weapon you put the rune in.

3: Bring balance to the region.
- To get this ending you just need to not use the rune at all. You can give it to the blacksmith or just not use it in anyway. This will result in the balance ending/achievement.

Good luck and if you have any questions just let me know!

*Slaymatrix has posted a video guide in the comments below! Thanks :)

*Slam Shot Sam has confirmed if you don't put the rune in anything it will default to the balanced ending whether you give it to the Blacksmith or not!*

*Slam Shot Sam has also found a way to get multiple ending achievements in one play through! It's a good game and the 3 runs are not a chore so I would recommend doing that but of course not everyone has the time or the patience so if you would like to do this here is how:

- Get to the blacksmith before the last boss where you choose where to put the rune.
- Go to xbox settings, then Network, and choose to "Go offline".
- Proceed to make your choice and finish the game.
- Now here is the scary part if you aren't able to back up your save. Delete your save by going to games and apps, then press the 'menu' (start) button on Lords of the Fallen, choose manage game, then menu again on your save. It will tell you that if it the data isn't on the cloud then deleting it will be permanent!
- Now reconnect to Live and start up Lords of the Fallen. It will now Sync data with the cloud and should get you back your save from before you went offline (Ie the Blacksmith). Also your achievement should pop once you get back online if not before.
- Either repeat the process for the next achievement or if you are done, just stay online and beat the last boss one last time.

I have not actually done this myself as I finished this game ages ago, however I did test the ability to delete the save, going back online and starting up Lords of the Fallen where it automatically Synced my data. I can only assume that your data will be synced with the cloud as long as you were online when the file was created/edited.

Also don't waste xp into spell points as you get so many from chests or dimension portals. Just level up your hero! It's not a hard game at all after your first run through but definitely a lot of fun. It's a shame they set the achievements to 3 New games instead of having achievements for NG+. I would have liked to explore NG+ but after the 3 games I really thought it was enough. If you don't know what I'm talking about you have to finish the game 3 times as 3 different characters (Warrior, Cleric, Rogue). Also if you do want a bit of a challenge choose Rogue on your first run, it's not as OP and you will learn how to dodge everything for your next runs.

Yes as we now know the achievements for finishing the game with a particular class are written completely wrong. You cannot change your class but you can choose a new magic class and that is what you get the different "Class" achievements for. When you start your NG+ you are forced to choose a new magic style. I finished the game within the first few days of it coming out so there was no way to know "Finish the game as the Warrior" meant choose the Brawler magic type. Even more so because you can choose Warrior and not choose the Brawler Magic type. I'm sure you meant to explain all that "Cloud Circus" but then you wouldn't have been able to use the big "whoops" at the end and have yourself a little laugh. Well done mate! LoL :)

Of course this has nothing to do with the achievements for the different endings, I just thought the previous comment being wrong should be explained before it confused a whole load of people!

I just finished without doing anything with the rune and you get the balanced ending, same as if you gave it to the blacksmith.

Did we find out whether it was possible to use some kind od save manipulation for these achievements? Like a moron, I just finished my second playthrough killing the boss with a weapon the rune wasn't equipped to, making the whole playthrough a waste of time...

Tomorrow, I'm going to try getting to the last boss (already most of the way there, just sprinting through the game with the spell that makes you invisible on) and then disconnect from LIVE so that my save won't automatically upload to the cloud. This should let me beat the boss one way on the local save, delete it, reconnect to LIVE, achievement should pop, then sync data with the cloud and beat the boss the other way.

It worked, just got my 100%.

Man, the final boss sucks on NG+ & ++! Took me hours to do it despite having his patterns totally down. I did barely any damage and he would one shot kill me most of the time (all the time when he permanently removed health), so it would be like a 15 minute fight that I couldn't make a single mistake in.

Sounds like my 1st playthrough I chose Rogue to not be so OP that I had heard warrior was and the last boss would kill me in one hit with those fire lines! I was so pissed off because the seemed 2 keep appearing right on me! So I had to put on some heavier armor and eventually learnt to run in a zig-zag motion to throw off the fire! Congrats dude, due to incorrect wording of the "class" achievements I didn't get to do my NG+ runs so you have done well! I will put a note in the solution about your offline save method!

JayD101, I really feel the pity for you. Such a great video game had rather be continually progressed in two subsequent Cycles while building up Harkyn's abilities and gathering items. Now, I am glad, that at least I can make use of it all. There is coming out Lords Of The Fallen II, then we already know this.

Yes I agree it's unfortunate they had the wording of some of those achievements completely wrong! In any case I did recently do a 4th playthrough while doing the dlc so I was able to continue onto NG+, it didn't seem to make so much difference anyway, it's more fun starting from the start because you need to use skill and knowledge of enemy moves to fight. While NG+ does make the enemies stronger I was, for the most part, just able to slaughter everything. Anyway I am sure Lords of the Fallen 2 will be awesome now the developer has learnt a few things :) I'm looking forward to it!

Using the save/delete method I was able to switch runes but I did it at the judge fight because I got there, then read this, so it was too late by then to go offline at the Blacksmith. What I did was when I resynced my data from the previous fight, I left the fight (you have the option to) and went to the anvil halfway down the flight of stairs and just switched the rune from my sword (which I got the cheeve for first) to my armor, beat him again and I got the achievement. So I guess it doesn't matter what you tell the Blacksmith when he asks about the rune. I did this on ng+.

Can confirm that the local deletion of the game file while offline works like a charm. And as mentioned, you can at any time go back to the blacksmith and respec the rune, the placement of which is the only criteria for the achievement.

This has glitched on me along with the rogue magic one, last 2 i need for the completion too, just now beat the final boss, went through the custscene, etc and got nothing. Had the rune in my armour and was even wearing the armour when i beat it. Fucking sick of this game, it's decent, but not decent enough for a 4th playthrough just to have the cheevs glitch on me again.

Only thing i can think of that may have fucked it up is that i got the cheev for beating the final boss with the dlc boss weapon, maybe that somehow stopped them from unlocking? Who knows, just be careful anyone reading this, they apparently can glitch out. :/

I did a hard xbox reset which sometimes fixes this, but nothing. Maybe they'll unlock belatedly in a few days or so.

EDIT: Ok, so i went downstairs, came back about 5 mins later and they had both unlocked, thankfully. :p Must have been an xbox issue. Ill leave this over deleting it in case someone else thinks theirs may be glitched too. :)

Is there possibility of restarting the checkpoint to unlock each of the three achievements? Or is required to play everything up to this point again?

Unfortunately not there is a few checkpoints inbetween the choice and the end. I am not sure about backing up a save though that might be possible... However once you know what you are doing it is possible to run through the game in around 8hrs if you just go straight to the end. Recommend looking at the achievement solution for "Couldn't have done it myself". You can break the statue on the 2nd boss (Commander) by putting the Shard of heroes in your chose statue. This weapon is good enough to run through the whole game. On my 2nd playthrough I used the Cleric (Hammer statue) it has around 80 damage which kills everything in about 2 hits early on so you can easily accrue huge amounts of xp with the multiplier. Basically I only upgraded 3-4 times about 10 points at a time when I died by using the ghost shard. On my 3rd playthrough I did my warrior playthrough and did it under 10hrs. I will say that hero statue's sword was getting a bit weak by the Twins and I had to use the Annihilator's hammer to finish the last 2 bosses off. Hope this helps, if this doesn't make any sense or you need more help let me know. :)

Nice response from you there! I am glad you actually experienced another Cycle in your adventure! And yes, the differences are at a bare minimum, and Harkyn can become too powerful when Luck is at a certain value. The challenge does make it interesting, which is that what you prefer rather than the ascention in that optional way, under given circumstances.

Lords Of The Fallen II is still a tough project now since Bloodborne was crowned in relative genre. Lords Of The Fallen's battle system is in some aspects greater than that of the others, but easily utilizing faster levels of speed must become available in a greater spectrum when equipment is in relativity - there is the new expected standard, that was set by Bloodborne. Most of us wish for in-worlds separate online play functions to be features in Lords Of The Fallen II, and to create and use their individual characters rather than one of a type they do not want to play with. Those functions must not be completely the same, but hopefully there will be any. It should not be the biggest challenge for them to integrate online features such as that, if they can invest in it properly. But it will surely push back the final product for at least a half year, after working on that had started. I am pretty sure that this would be the right decision for them to make. And if they do, they really require a much greater push through the media and utilize the right marketing campaigns. They do not necessarily strive to get their project's reknown/praise/success in the era of FromSoftware's, but they can achieve a considerably great status if they just carefully do it all right.

There are three endings in this game. Which ending do you get depends what you do with the rune of Adyr that YOU WILL GET when you continue the story. After getting the rune, talk with the blacksmith and then you can choose what you wanna do with the rune.

In this ending you need to put the rune in your shield or one of your armor pieces and use that shield/armor piece in the fight with the final boss.

Remember that you need to put the rune in to your shield/armor the same way you put other runes in them. Talking with the blacksmith about putting it to your shield/armor doesn't put it to your shield/armor. You need to put it yourself manually.
