How to unlock the Hard shell, soft core achievement in Lords of the Fallen (2014) - Definitive Guide
Hi guys,
It is almost impossible to dmg the guy with physical hit while he is hiding behind his giant shield. However if you wait till he attacks you can either dodge roll it or simply circle him(for this you need to tag him with the right thumbstick - which I recommend at all time while you fight him) This will give you a short time window to strike some hits on him. If you are experienced enough I`d suggest to swap to hold your weapon with both hands(press Y) for the attacks then swap back to shield while blocking/waiting for his next attack.
Another key moment here is when you goes into "idle", shield him away and send his troops in. As soon as he does that use your "clone" to attract them(he sends 1 troop in at the beginning but as you will progress there will be waves of 2 as well). If you do not attack the enemies they will focus on the clone. This is the perfect time to do a "Backstab" on them which is a 1 hit kill in most cases. To do a backstab press RB when you are facing their back. You will know that you did it right because and animation will start. If you still need a hit or two you can do that immediately after the backstab as it will stagger them for a brief second.
This is the tactic that I used as a Rogue and will work with any other class types too. I was lvl 11 at this fight with 4 healing potions. It took me about 8 minutes to finish him completely. Make sure that you are patient. Less is more in this case. Do not use all of your stamina while trying to damage the boss as you will have to still block him as soon as he recovers from his previous attack.
Good luck

Thanks so much for watching.

Adrenaline fight I see ^^ Since it was still the beginning of the game, your skills and mechanics weren't that deadly as they are now. You were, imo, too close to him most of the time, making you forced to use extra potions as he banged you with his shiedl. Patience fight that is but, you managed to kill him in the end. Great guide.

I would highly recommend using no shield and using the greatsword Persistence. Simply strafe around the boss (dodging his lightning attacks) and wait for him to slam his sword and shield into the ground. As soon as he does this (watch out for a little bit of lightning from the sword and the shield) hit him with a full heavy attack (upswing and downswing). This will take out a full bar of health. Do this 4 times and you have your achievement!
