How to unlock the Way of the cleric achievement in Lords of the Fallen (2014) - Definitive Guide

The description of this achievement is misleading. One would assume that taking the Cleric starter equipment and finishing the game would be all you need to do. This is incorrect though, you actually need to choose the Solace magic class and finish the game, the equipment you choose does not matter.

You can choose the Solace magic class in NG+ as your second magic class and still receive this achievement after clearing NG+.

Basically, the achievement should read... "Complete the game with the Solace magic class active"

I've figured this all out after experiencing the following...

I finished my first play through after choosing Warrior equipment & Brawler magic class (Save file displayed Warrior). I received the Warrior achievement. I then completed NG+ with the Deception magic class as my second magic class, I received the Rogue achievement. I then created a brand new character, chose the Cleric starting gear & Brawling magic class (Save file displayed Brawling). When I finished the game with the new character - what I thought would count as a Cleric - I did not receive the achievement because I chose the Brawling magic class, I should have chose Solace.

That is true, but in all fairness. When you pick your character at the start, when you pick your spell category. It changes your characters "class" so by picking Brawler for example your class will say "warrior." Your starting gear is 100% irrelevant to your class.

I was hoping to make such acknowledgement, and be glad that it works by keep playing with the same progress in three Cycles and learn all magic classes. After the end of Cycle Three, all three related Xbox Achievements shall be unlocked. Thank you!

Cybernetic does it work like that? I just want full confirmation. I played through originally as a warrior and got that achievement, then I played through new game + with my secondary skill as the clerics. If I finish new game ++ now upgrading my 3rd set of magic abilities (i.e; the Rogue spells), will I get the rogue achievement?

Just FYI, you can only complete NG++
So, If you start with Brawler (warrior) on the first playthrough, continue on NG+ with Deception (rouge) or Solace (cleric). Then upon completing NG+ continue with NG++ and the third class will be chosen automatically. This is by far the easier way to complete all achievements than playing 3 separate games starting all the way over. The third run through can be completed in under an hour if you know what to do and where to go. The game is much faster if you can skip equipment hunting and simply go slay the bosses.

@HolyWarr27, do you have a quick guide on what to do/where to go to get through the game as fast as possible on NG+ and NG++? I only need to save that monster for Yetka and complete the game as Rogue and Cleric (and use that DLC weapon on the final boss), so I want to get through the game as fast as possible.

Like the other solutions say, you only need to choose Solace as your magic and complete a run of the game.
However, This is extremely important, if you played the game as the other characters and are doing a final run a cleric, most weapons that scale with faith can't equip runes. I played through this last, played through thinking I'd mostly be upgrading faith, with vitality and endurance as a minor. Like you'd normally think of playing a faith character.
You can do this, I did, but it makes your character weak IMO. You're better off just using this character magic as solace, and make a strength build instead.
Shelter is pretty good because it means you don't need health potions, but it takes so darn long to do that I couldn't use it on most boss fights cause it would be interrupted before I could finish.
Now if you get to the end and need to put the final rune in your weapon to kill the boss with a faith weapon like I did, you need to do the final proving grounds. I'll put a video of where it is.
The weapon is called Stare, it scales with faith, and it has a weapon slot for the ruin.
Also if you've played through the game already and just want to get through the game as fast as possible, check out this speed run of the game.
It shows a few glitches that no longer work so you'll actually have to fight the bosses he either skips or glitch kills, but the rest works fine.

Final Proving grounds.

These class trophies are all about the magic type you choose at the beginning of the game or when you start NG+ with the same character. In NG+ you can choose another magic type so you can get all the class trophies with the same character if you wanna complete NG, NG+ and NG++.
The equipment you choose at the beginning of the NG doesn't mean anything for these trophies!

If you wanna get cleric class trophy you need to choose Solace magic type.

The trophy will unlock after you kill the last boss.
