How to unlock the TownGo Whale achievement in Lost Judgment - Definitive Guide

You need to complete all 609 tasks across the 49 venues in the ‘shop missions’ tab of the TownGo app. The ‘shops’ are mostly the bars and restaurants, and some minigame places like drone race or Paradise VR. Completed stores have a little gold crown on them.

I don’t normally write guides for achievements I don’t have. But I've put a lot into this one without getting it and I don’t have the patience, time or skills to see it through. I wish there were cheat items for arcade games...

I should say I only got as far as I did with loads of help from CyricZ’s awesome gameFAQs guide:
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/320117-lost-judgment/faqs/...
A lot of the information here is compiled from there.

Bars and restaurants
You’ll need to order all the items on each restaurant’s menu. There’s a way to speed this up but it’ll cost you a lot of SP and quite a bit of money:
  • buy The Art of Gluttony skill book from Onodera's Wares in Yokohama for 50,000 SP. That will let you buy the Bottomless Stomach skill…for another 40,000 SP. Now you can eat with full health.
  • for alcoholic drinks, invest in Barfly (600 SP), Boozehound (2,500 SP) and Borderline alcoholic (20,000 SP) to increase the amount you can drink.
  • EX Drunken Fist (2,500 SP) will instantly sober you up if you’ve got an alcohol level of 6 or above, or you can drink soft drinks from convenience stores.
  • armed with the above you can systematically visit all the bars and restaurants and order everything on the menu
You’ll need to do this at:

  • Yoshinoya (cumulative over the three branches: Tenkaichi Street, Hotel District or the Yokohama one)
  • Gindaco Highball Tavern (cumulative over the two branches - there’s one in Yokohama too)

Other venues and activities
Arcade
Fantasy Zone
Club SEGA Nakamichi (Kamurocho) or Sasaki Arcade (Yokohama)
  • Score 50,000 points
Tips:
  • hold down R2 to fire
  • the map loops around
  • focus on engine upgrades over weapons
  • you should hit this target by the end of stage 2
Fighting Vipers
Club SEGA Nakamichi (Kamurocho) or Sasaki Arcade (Yokohama)
  • Defeat the first seven characters in single-player mode (up to Raxel)
I absolutely suck at this and can’t offer any good tips. You can at least continue if you lose.

Hama of the Dead
Club SEGA Chinatown (Yokohama)
  1. Complete all chapters (including EX, which unlocks when you’ve beaten chapter 5)
  2. Get 777 headshots
  3. Destroy 500 zombies
You don’t need to complete chapters in a single run and can use chapter select.
There’s also an achievement for collecting 50 pickups:
Lost JudgmentSuffer Like G DidThe Suffer Like G Did achievement in Lost Judgment worth 65 pointsObtained 50 pickups in Hama of the Dead.

Motor Raid
Club SEGA Theater Square (Kamurocho), Sasaki Arcade (Yokohama)
  1. Complete a full three-track Championship grand prix without dropping out
  2. Complete a Practice race on each of the five main planets
The only arcade game which is actually fun. Your place in the race doesn’t matter, just that you don’t run out of time.

Sonic the Fighters
Club SEGA Nakamichi (Kamurocho) or Sasaki Arcade (Yokohama)
  • Defeat the eight playable fighters
Tips:
  • spamming attack seems to work
  • the order of opponents is random don’t worry about winning consecutive matches
Space Harrier
Club SEGA Theater Square (Kamurocho) or Club SEGA Chinatown (Yokohama)
  • Score 2 million points
Tips:
  • use rapid fire
  • you should hit the score around the end of stage 2
Super Hang-on
Club SEGA Theater Square (Kamurocho) or Club SEGA Chinatown (Yokohama)
  • Score 6 million points
Tips:
  • once you hit a speed of 280km/h, hold down the Turbo Button for a boost
  • You should hit the target score during the 5th course
UFO catcher
Club SEGA Theater Square (Kamurocho), Club SEGA Chinatown (Yokohama) or Sasaki Arcade (Yokohama
  • Win any 15 prizes
Tips:
  • big toys with small heads are the easiest: penguins and cats
  • you can ask the staff to change the prizes
Virtua Fighter 5 FS
Club SEGA Nakamichi St. (Kamurocho), Club SEGA Chinatown (Yokohama) or eSports club room
  1. Defeat all arcade stages including the Bonus Stage (has to be at arcade)
  2. Win with all 18 characters
  3. Win 30 matches
Tips:
  • the eSports School Story mission doesn't count towards this, annoyingly
  • Vanessa is a great cheese character: hold back and spam kick (cn_B)
  • or use El Blaze and just hammer cn_B
Capsule Toys
  1. Get all Decor-ocean Series 2 capsule toys from Sasaki Arcade (Yokohama): Flounder, Marlin, Crab, Goby, Squid, Coelacanth
  2. Get all Decor-ocean Series 2 capsule toys from Charles (Kamurocho): Tuna, Fugu, Red Snapper, Salmon, Blowfish, Megalodon
No strategy here, just keep pumping yen into the machines until you’ve got all six.

Batting Center
Cumulative over Yoshida Batting Center (Kamurocho) or MIRAI Batting Center (Yokohama)
  1. Clear all Challenge Courses up through Ace of Japan (A Rank or higher)
  2. Clear twelve sets in the Home-Run Competition
Tips:
  • buy the serenity bat from Ebisu Pawn Kamurocho for ¥200. It reduces your points tally by 30%, but makes life a lot easier.
  • ignore the actual ball and watch the yellow icon.
  • use this guide to cheat your way through, as all the courses stick to a pattern:https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/320117-lost-judgment/faqs/...
  • clearing the Home-Run Competition is a slog, takes about 20 minutes but feels like three hours
Darts
Cumulative over darts played at:
  • The Bee (Yokohama)
  • Girl’s Bite (Yokohama)
  • Club SEGA Chinatown (Kamurocho)
  • Club SEGA Theater Square (Kamurocho)
  • Bantam (Kamurocho)
  1. Play all three versions of darts
  2. Get a Low Ton (100-150)
  3. Get a High Ton (151+ but not 180 or a Three in a Bed)
  4. Get a Ton 80 (three triple 20s)
  5. Get a Three in the Bed (three doubles or triples of the same value, not triple 20s)
  6. Get a Hat Trick (three bullseyes with three darts)
  7. Get a White Horse (three different triples consecutively during a game of Cricket)
Tips:
  • you might as well go for these at Girl’s Bite assuming you’re also going for the TownGo School Missions.
  • the Miracle Darts will make life easier. You can get them during Squirrel Search (West of Survive Bar).
Mahjong
You need to do this at three locations:
  • Lullaby Mahjong (Kamurocho)
  • Citron Mahjong (Yokohama)
  • Vista Mahjong (Yokohama)
  1. Win 10 games with ron or tsumo
  2. Get 1st place at 2 tables (Citron and Lullaby)
  3. Get 1st place at all 3 tables (Vista)
Tips:
  • the 10 wins are for rounds rather than entire games, so it's not as bad as it sounds
  • you'll need to come first in three matches (either table) to unlock the Royal Table in Vista Mahjong
The Nine Gates Tile cheat item can help you win, although it’s not guaranteed. Get them by:
  • buying from Onodera's Wares for 30,000 SP
  • Squirrel Search (just outside Yokohama 99.)
  • eating ‘Item Drop +’ (the wrapped gift icon) items at restaurants, then defeating enemies. You’ll want to find a restaurant offering at least three bonus items.
Mahjong is quite complex but does rely on luck quite a lot. CyricZ has a great guide: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/320117-lost-judgment/faqs/...

Outdoor Shogi
Cumulative over both venues (behind Café Alps in Kamurocho, east of Tsurukame Bridge in Yokohama).
  1. Complete all ten Puzzle Shogi puzzles
  2. Win ten matches (two playing first, two playing second and five with no takebacks)
  3. Win a Shogi Challenge
For puzzle shogi use this guide: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/320117-lost-judgment/faqs/...
For the others, buy ‘The Basics of Shogi’ for ¥1200 from Ebisu Pawn in Yokohama. It’ll tell you what move to make (painfully slowly, but still…better than learning how to play shogi).

Drone Race
Do this at the Kiosk up by the batting center in Yokohama.
  1. Get first place in all five Grand Prixes
  2. Come first in all ten Champions League races
  3. Go over 100km/h
  4. Pass time trials on all ten courses
  5. Develop 162 drone parts (doesn’t include those unlocked for completing the Champion League)
Parts development will need a lot of materials. See here for a list of what you’ll need:
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/320117-lost-judgment/faqs/...
For racing tips and where to find the best blueprints see here:
Lost JudgmentThe AviatorThe The Aviator achievement in Lost Judgment worth 59 pointsWon first place in every Grand Prix drone race.

Paradise VR
  1. Win on all Dice & Cube rulesets and difficulties (three of each, so six in total)
  2. Use Skills 100 times during Dice & Cube
  3. Activate Koro-nyan Mode ten times during Dice & Cube
  4. Defeat three tigers during Dice & Cube
  5. Earn the Free Pass for Dice & Cube
  6. Beat the high score on the first nine Aircelios missions
Dice & Cube tips:
  • use skills on every turn you can, or by the end of this you’ll be left with loads to grind
  • Koro-nyan mode is when you catch the gold dice cat thing (or roll 5, 6, 2 in sequence which happened to me exactly once)
  • I had to farm for tigers: on long course (standard) there are three 3-star battles just before the first junction. Go back and forth and eventually you’ll fight tigers. With luck you’ll get the fight against all three with a photon sword, which is easy.
For the free pass voucher, you’ll need to collect all six parts:
  1. Skateboard Point Exchange (25,000 points)
  2. Squirrel Search Set 32 (Café Alps)
  3. Casino Chip Exchange (10,000 chips and must have started Casino School Story)
  4. Complete Side Case ‘Where the Kappa Roam’ (Chapter 4)
  5. Max out the bond with the white cat at the Ijincho Homeless Camp
  6. Gambling Hall Point Exchange (10,000 points)
Aircelios tips:
  • buy all upgrades as soon as you can
  • use weapon boost chips constantly. You can deploy all three at once.
  • keep your chain going. Use a bomb if you think you’re going to lose it.
  • restock your chips at the shop after every attempt
Heaven’s Door (casino)
  1. win 30,000 chips playing blackjack
  2. Win 30,000 chips playing poker
Tips:
  • save scum
  • play on VIP tables to maximise winnings
  • use cheat items
Cheat items
  • The Royal Joker Card poker cheat item will give you the best hand based on the flop.
  • Blackjack Amulet is the better cheat item for blackjack. Win a couple of hands then use it to get up to 10,000 chip hands. You’ll get more than enough.
  • Bust Amulet is helpful to win a few blackjack hands, it’ll make sure the dealer goes over if he has to take a card
How to get them:
  • buy from Onodera's Wares for 30,000 SP
  • max out your Paw-pularity with the black cat at Yokohama Homeless Camp (Blackjack Amulet)
  • Squirrel Search, river walk southwest of the Batting Center (Bust Amulet)
  • Batting Center for 2500 pts (Royal Joker Card)
  • eat ‘Item Drop +’ (the wrapped gift icon) items at restaurants, then defeating enemies. You’ll want to find a restaurant offering at least three bonus items.
Gambling Hall
  1. Win 10,000 wooden tags at Koi-koi
  2. Win 10,000 wooden tags at Oicho-kabu
As above, save scumming and cheat items are your friends here.

For Koi-koi:
  • play on expert and set the wager to 200
  • turn on hand guides and three round game
  • The Lucky Hanafuda card cheat item will pretty much guarantee a good first round win
  • call Koi to keep the game going if you think you’re going to win the round
It’s a pretty good game, if complicated. See here for a guide: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/320117-lost-judgment/faqs/...
If you can’t be bothered to learn it, try to match hands that look like they go together: ribbons, animals, flowers. And don’t discard cards that it looks like your opponent is going to want.

For Oicho-kabu:
  • play on advanced (it's bet amount not difficulty)
  • if you’re not the dealer, quit out and try again
  • use the 10-10-1 charm cheat item, it can net you a huge amount
  • if you’re near 9 in total, play it safe
  • I’m never sure what’s going on but there’s a guide here: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/320117-lost-judgment/faqs/...
Cheat items
  • Lucky Hanafuda cards will pretty much guarantee you a first round win in Koi-koi. Keep calling Koi and you might get such a lead that you can afford to lose the other two rounds
  • 10-10-1 charms will give you a massive score in Oicho-kabu. Essential.
  • Triple Yokan will give you a decent score in Oicho-kabu. Use if you don't have any 10-10-1 charms.
How to get them:
  • buy from Onodera's Wares for 30,000 SP
  • win the Long Challenge Course in Dice & Cube (10-10-1 charm)
  • come first in a Single Race drone race in Northern River (Reverse) (Triple Yokan)
  • beat the Tackle Death gauntlet (Lucky Hanafuda Card)
Heaven’s Golf
  1. Play all three Closest to the Pin challenges.
  2. Get all eight Bingos in Bingo Mode.
Make sure to use RB to line up your shots. It’s very accurate as long as you hit the markers on your swing.

Tips for Bingo Mode:
  • hardest bit is compensating for wind
  • when difficulty first goes up, it takes roughly one shot’s worth of time for the board to move from one side to the other.
  • When it goes up again, it’s double the above speed. So start your shot when it’s at either extreme end, and it should more or less be back in that position when the ball lands.
  • get the farthest three squares done while the board is still stationary
