How to unlock the Complete Episode 3 achievement in Lost Planet 2 - Definitive Guide

This is story based, so you can't miss it. Once you've completed the 3 chapters of episode 1 and 2, you have to complete another 3 in episode 3, and boom, you've got it. Difficulty also has no bearing on it.

Same as Episode 2, Episode 3 is focused on soldiers and VSs rather than Akrid. Across its three chapters, there are two bosses, Debouse (3-2) and Red Eye (3-3).

Episode Boss – Akrid X

Akrid X is the Episode Boss for Episode 2, who is a huge 4-legged spider Akrid, effectively a larger version of the Chryatis. His weak points are the cores on his four legs, as well as his mouth. The cores on his legs will start off with a rocky layer protecting them, so you simply have to destroy these before getting to the delicious core inside. Same as with Gordiant, your only real options for beating Akrid X are either using the weapons found throughout the area, or using the GAH-42BS Bleed or GAF-15D Drion VSs. Your safest option here is to use the Drion Multi-seat VS. It can be used with one or three people if you want, but the best option here is using two people. This way you can still deal decent damage to him and not have him Akrid X focusing on your Drion, as only half the team will be in the Drion. Basically all you have to do is stay a moderate distance from Akrid X and fire away with your infinite-ammo Vulcan and Shotgun, all the while watching out for his leg sweep attack, and his fireballs. Once his health bar reaches zero, he will collapse. Don't be fooled though, he soon gets up for round two. This shouldn’t be too daunting, as his second stage is incredibly weak, if not slightly more aggressive. Continue to pummel him with whatever you are using and he should fall in no time, and this time he will be out for the count.

End boss: Red Eye

This part can be very confusing if you don't know what to do. If you die here you will have to go all the way back to the beginning of the train. The blue health bar is the coolant system.

The coolant system is controlled by two switches in the lower inside part of the train. You will want to keep this from going low, as the train will start to catch on fire. There is also a T-ENG replenishing machine in this room and a turret which drains your T-ENG.

By now you should have noticed huge bullet casings everywhere. Go up on the outside of the train, towards the huge cannon. Behind the cannon you will see a bullet delivery system. Basically, what you need to do is grab a shell, go to the side, and load the shell. Then you need to energize the shell by hitting another switch on either side. You can have three shells loaded at one time. Once you energized them you have a limited amount of time to blast it at the Akrid. If you're running low on shells, you can use the crane near the back to load shells.

The goal here is to blow up all the round orange spots on the side of the boss. Once these are destroyed you will see a message that says "final shot". Just blast him in the face and call it a day!

With all that said, I recommend ignoring the turret all together. It's strong, but just way to slow. There are four turrets on both sides of the coolant room that can be used to do decent damage. Have one or two guys down there running the coolant and shooting the turrets. There is also a helicopter near the back, so have one guy in that for sure. Make sure the guy in the helicopter calls out which side Red Eye is coming up on as the guys in the coolant room can't really see.

The video below was done on hard but the same strategy applies to Extreme.
